Chapter 10 Change The Room
After Yang Fen finished dinner and brought it to the hospital, she insisted on staying by the bed.
I tugged her arm and said quietly:
"Is Brother Yong not here? We already spent the money. Why do you have to stay here yourself?"
Yang Fen glanced at Qin Xiao on the hospital bed. She looked pained.
"Is it not that I cannot rest easy about my son?"
Qin Xiao called me aside.
"Xiao Rou, you and Mom go back. Brother Yong will be with me tonight. You two can rest easy.
"Right. Help me change to a Private Hospital Room. That way Brother Yong will have a place to rest too. Otherwise I am afraid his body will not hold up if he sits all night."
I could have laughed. What was there not to rest easy about.
I nodded, obedient.
Then I found a nurse at once and arranged a Private Hospital Room.
I dragged Yang Fen by the hand.
"Mom, let's go. We should head back."
Yang Fen scratched her head and muttered.
"I keep feeling something is strange, but I cannot say what."
Then she turned and asked quietly by my ear.
"Have you not noticed? Qin Xiao seems to like this Brother Yong."
I covered my mouth and asked, like I could not believe it.
"Mom, are you saying your son likes men?"
Yang Fen seemed to catch that she had said the wrong thing. She spat in a hurry.
"No. That is not what I meant. I only meant he likes him in a simple way."
I patted my chest and let out a breath.
"Mom, do not jump at things. Brother Yong works with all his heart. If you were the patient, you would like him too, would you not?"
Yang Fen glared at me.
"You only say unlucky things. Are you cursing me to get sick?"
Yang Fen looked suspicious of everything. I rolled my eyes, impatient.
"You think too much. Let's go. Do not disturb their rest."
With that, I shut the door.
