Chapter 28
Chapter Twenty-Eight
Hailey
Syke’s penthouse was at the very top of an apartment building in midtown.
Everyone knew the area housed most of the city’s demon population, and it was colloquially known as the demon district.
There was a lot of debate about just how many demons lived in Central Valley, but most humans still avoided the area just in case, unless they wanted to fuck a demon, which I kind of did.
Eric stood behind me, all but bristling with intensity.
I could feel the tension pulsing off him in waves.
When I’d explained my predicament, he’d been outraged on my behalf.
However, Eric was my mate, but he wasn’t my owner.
I shut down any territorial bullshit right away.
He’d been contrite, and when I told him I wasn’t exactly opposed to sleeping with Syke, he’d begrudgingly gotten on board.
He’d put his foot down about me going by myself though.
That worked for me. I wouldn’t mind some backup when it came to dealing with Syke.
He was intimidating, but on the flip side, there was something about his swirling shadows and bottomless, silver eyes that I found mesmerizing and effortlessly alluring.
Not even Eric could argue with Syke’s raw sex appeal.
The elevator arrived, and we climbed in. Hitting the button for the sixth floor, I leaned back into Eric’s chest.
“You can change your mind at any point,” he murmured into my ear. “Promise that if you have even a moment of doubt, you’ll tell me. We’ll figure out a different way to protect Syke from the repercussions of his actions.”
We’d spent an hour brainstorming other possibilities, and I’d tried my best to lie to Eric the way I would lie to the arches. He could tell immediately, and if an orc could taste my lies, then I stood no chance against both an archangel and an archdemon.
No, this was the best course of action, and probably even the most enjoyable if I could shake off the nerves. Tilting my head to the side, I kissed Eric. “I promise, but I won’t change my mind. I’m stubborn like that.”
He grunted his agreement. “So I’m beginning to see… and brave.”
I didn’t think getting pounded by a demon was going to put me in contention for a medal of honor, but I didn’t argue.
The elevator doors opened onto a small foyer with a matte black door on the opposite wall. The rest of the wall was all mirrors, and it reflected my slightly wild-eyed visage back at me. No wonder Eric kept asking if I was sure. I looked like I was about to vibrate right out of my skin with nerves.
Not giving myself time to doubt my decision, I rapped my knuckles on the door.
It slid open without a sound, but there was no one on the other side.
“Creepy,” Eric muttered. “Fucking demons.”
“Not yet, but if you give it twenty more minutes, you might see one fucking demon,” Syke replied as he came around the corner.
He was in a pair of sweats that hung sinfully low on his hips.
Tattoos ran all over his body in harsh, black lines, swirling within the ridges and striations of his muscular frame.
Eric grunted. “Fine. I get it now,” he muttered to me, and I almost laughed. I probably would have if I wasn’t so nervous.
Syke tilted his head. “Come into the living area. We’ll have a drink, and you can relax. You both look like you’re going to combust, and snuff play isn’t my thing.”
I screwed up my nose but followed him into the living area. It was huge. You probably could have fit six of my old apartment in this room alone. Two of the four walls were entirely glass, and the city lights were like a golden blanket below us.
The furniture was not what I was expecting though.
Everything was plush. The couch was black, but it was overstuffed so it bulged.
The coffee table had glass on top of a gnarled slice of tree stump.
There was also a fireplace and a huge television.
The floor was some kind of shimmering black stone covered in resin, and the downlights made it look like it was shining gems or stars in the night sky.
“This place is nice,” I squeaked.
“The neighbors aren’t crackheads either,” Syke remarked, raising an eyebrow.
I scoffed. “Subtle.”
He grinned, and I tried not to let out an “oof.” Man, he needed to keep that smile under wraps, because it was potent. “Would you like a drink?”
Eric cleared his throat. “A beer would be great.”
“Do you have tequila?” I asked. I was going to need some liquid courage.
Another half smirk, and he disappeared. I turned my wide eyes to Eric. “Holy shit.”
Eric pulled me into his arms. “I don’t think you can use the words holy and Syke in the same sentence.”
He was sin personified, so Eric was one hundred percent correct. Syke reappeared, handing Eric his beer and me two fingers of tequila. I could tell from the color it was the good stuff too.
I tossed it back like the bottle it came from wouldn’t have cost more than a monthly car payment.
Syke sighed and sat down on the puffy couch.
“Otis wanted me to double-check that you aren’t feeling coerced into this.
He wants you to know that there are other options we can take, other avenues to explore to get me a stay of execution, as it were.
” His eyes bounced between Eric and me. “So I need to ask again, are you sure?”
I nodded. “Yep.” My voice went up an octave, which probably undermined my determined consent.
He looked at Eric, who said, “You’ll respect her wishes, even if you’re balls deep inside her? If she says stop…”
“I’ll stop as soon as the words leave her lips. Even more, if I so much as taste a hint of regret in her emotions, everything ceases.”
Eric nodded. “Then we’re in.”
Syke grinned. “Excellent.” He looked at me once more, crooking a finger at me. “Come here, Sunshine.”
I was wearing a sundress that had buttons all the way down the front, and as I walked toward him, I started unbuttoning it slowly.
The way his eyes snagged on my lace-covered breasts gave me a shot of confidence.
When I was within touching distance, he reached out and grabbed my hips, pulling me closer until I straddled his thighs.
He scrunched the skirt of my dress up until I could feel the cool, air-conditioned air on my ass cheeks.
“I’m going to kiss you, Hailey,” he crooned, stilling for a beat before kissing me with a possessive grunt. His lips were soft and full, but his tongue moved like a sinuous beast. I wondered if I could ask for him to eat me out with it. “Yes,” he answered with a chuckle. “It would be my pleasure.”
Shit, I forgot he could read my thoughts. That made things unfair.
He laughed into my mouth. “I’m a demon. Fair isn’t in our vocabulary.” He looked over my shoulder. “Come here, Eric.” He turned me until my back was against his chest, and Eric was in front of me, kneeling between Syke’s spread thighs. “Make your mate feel good, orc.”
Eric lifted an eyebrow at me, and I gave him a soft nod. He finished unbuttoning my dress, and his eyes ran over my face before dipping to my breasts.
I was intensely aware of Syke behind me, but he seemed happy to be my chair for the moment.
Leaning forward, Eric captured my lips with his, kissing me just as deeply as Syke had, but differently. It wasn’t possessive, but devoted. He was mine, and I was his, and his lips told me that over and over again without saying a thing.
Fingers brushed my skin as Syke pushed my dress from my shoulders, moving it down slowly, until goosebumps trailed in the wake of his touch.
When my dress was pooled around my hips, he flicked the clasp of my bra, and I slid it off.
Eric sighed happily at the sight of my breasts, his lips trailing down my throat until he could bury his face between them.
His tusks scraped across my overheated skin, and I gasped softly, the sound turning into a moan as Syke’s hand fisted the hair at the nape of my neck, and he tugged my head back gently.
Using the grip that was somehow both firm and gentle, he turned my face toward him so he could recapture my lips.
He kissed me until I writhed between them, then he pulled back, looking over my shoulder at Eric who was still lavishing my breasts with attention.
“Your mate is desperate, Eric. Tell me how wet she is,” he commanded, and I felt the low rumble of Eric’s groan as he kissed down my stomach. Hooking his fingers in the delicate lace, he tore off my underwear. Fuck, that was hot.
Eric tried to bury his face in my dripping folds, but Syke used his much longer legs to close my thighs, pushing Eric back. “I asked a question, Eric.”
I could have answered his question. I could feel how wet I was.
It coated my thighs. From his knees, Eric looked up at us.
His lips were parted, and desire was written across every inch of his tense face.
“She’s so wet. Irresistibly wet. I want to taste her so badly,” he told Syke, like each second without doing so pained him.
If the way I ached was any indication, then maybe he really was in pain. Syke took pity on him, spreading his legs and my thighs again in one easy move. “Make her come. I want her release soaking your tusks.”
Apparently Eric enjoyed instruction, because his movements were desperate as he licked and sucked my tender flesh. I was pulled taut between them, and my orgasm washed over me before I was ready. I wanted more. I wanted everything.
Fortunately, Syke could read my mind. “Again, Eric.”
Eric pushed my thighs even wider, thrusting his tongue inside me, his nose bumping my clit in an unforgiving rhythm. Syke’s hand—the one that wasn’t in my hair— slid up my side until he cupped my boob.
“Such beautiful tits. A work of fucking art.” He pinched my nipple, and I gasped, writhing up against Eric’s tongue.
“So sensitive too.” He kissed down the back of my neck and across my shoulder, biting it softly.
I shuddered and came again, my moans incoherent.
“I’m going to fuck you now, Sunshine. Your orc mate is going to suck on that sweet little clit while I impale you on my demon cock. Is that what you want?”
Was that what I wanted? Was he fucking joking? I wanted it more than I wanted to see my next sunrise. Everything felt like so much more. Was it Syke’s demon powers making me feel like everything had been turned up to ten? Or was it being pressed between them?
He pinched my nipple again. “Words, Sunshine.”
“Yes. Please, Syke, I want it.” At this point, I wasn’t even above begging.
He slid me up his body, lifting his ass, and I was fairly sure Eric dragged his sweats down.
I wanted to see his cock, but I couldn’t from this position.
When it notched against my entrance, though, I could feel it.
It felt huge. I looked at Eric, but his focus was on the place where Eric’s cock was pushing inside me, and then my eyes were closing.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck,” I whispered as I stretched around him.
Syke grunted. “You can take me, I know you can. Lick her clit, orc.”
Eric’s mouth was on me, and Syke slid into me as I screeched from the pleasure.
My whole body felt like it was pulled tight.
I gripped Eric’s hair, and Syke’s arm banded around my ribs, pulling me back until my body was flush against his, then he gripped my hips and fucked up into me, and any thoughts but riding the waves of pleasure were gone.
I came and came. Whatever Eric was doing down there with his hands had Syke cursing until he spilled inside me, and then he kept going. Demons had no refractory period? I was going to die tonight, and it was going to be the best thing I’d ever done.
Syke was wild now, no longer the controlled puppet master as he fucked me, one hand holding Eric’s head against my aching clit.
One more orgasm pulsed through me, making stars dance in my vision, and I dragged Syke along with me until he collapsed into the couch, my back stuck to his torso.
We all lay there, panting, until Syke moved me off his softening cock. His cum spilled out of me in an obscene squelch, and I could feel his amusement.
“Clean her up, Eric, and then it’s your turn.”
I moaned happily. I wasn’t sure I’d survive my night with the demon, but at this point, I didn’t care, especially when Syke stroked my sweaty hair from my face, and Eric lapped at my swollen flesh with a happy, humming sound.
What a way to go.
