The Truth He Hid in the Treme

Bastien Durand has spent a century in New Orleans telling real hauntings from bad wiring.

When fires break out across the city and witnesses swear the flames move wrong, he walks the scenes and finds no curse and no spirit, only a human arsonist.

Delphine then breathes the smoke and collapses, and on waking she remembers burning in his arms a hundred years earlier.

Every fire after that returns another piece of their life together, from the home they built to the proposal he never made, along with the truth he has hidden since they met: he was never cast out of Heaven but fell on purpose for her.

Bastien must now choose whether to let Delphine remember everything or keep from her the one memory that could break her.
