59. Penelope

Penelope

“See. Gentle. Slow.”

Breath brushed over my lips and my scream came out more as a moan as the tears didn’t stop. Hours. So many hours through the night. Barely any sleep. Rape after rape. Hours. More time. Foreplay. Another rape.

King Lawrence hadn’t been lying about stamina. He was feverish in his need to force himself into every part of me.

Mind.

Body.

… Soul.

“You’re going to love me. We’re going to be so happy together.”

“No.” I sobbed. “I hate… you. I don’t… want this. Hate. Hate.”

“That’s just Vaughn talking. You love me. I see it deep inside your eyes.”

He kept the thrusts at a leisurely pace, cupping to my breast to tease over my nipple as he constantly nuzzled my face.

“I’m going… to gut… you.”

A surprised laugh left him, and he nipped at my lip. “You are dangerous aren’t you.”

It wasn’t a question. The intrigue… the fascination had his cock getting heavier inside me. I cried out, wishing I could claw his face to ribbons.

“Wait…. until you see. I’ll… rip out your throat with… my teeth. I’ll paint… these walls with… your blood. I’m going to bathe… in it. I’ll—”

My cry was breathy as he let out a deep moan.

Cum shot into me and my head managed to turn back and forth with more force at the pain of my throbbing back.

My eyes widened at the realization that I was beginning to move and feel more, and my pulse hit hard.

I felt a calm evilness roll through as I turned back to the man who was gasping and beginning to rub his face along the side of mine.

“Fuck… you really get me going when you talk like that. I want to see it. I want…” He pulled back, scanning my face. “I want to see what you’re capable of.”

His blue eyes were so round and full of need, I felt words disappear from my thoughts. The fascination was like nothing I’d seen before.

“Penelope. I think… I… love you. I don’t think,” he rushed out.

“I must, because I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything in my life as much as I’ve wanted you.

Can’t you see? Can you try, just for a moment.

Push Vaughn away. See me. See how much I want you.

This.” He gestured to me. “You must see I’m serious about us. ”

“You’re raping me.”

His head reared back as if I’d slapped him.

“I’m showing you my love. The first time…” His brow creased. “I guess that was rape towards the end.”

“No… All of it was… I said no. I meant it.” I swallowed hard, testing my fingers as they drew in. “You love me?”

His hand cupped my cheek, and his lips pushed hard into mine.

“I swear I do.”

“Then act… like it. Stop the drugs. … Clean me. I am a queen… not a whore.”

He swallowed hard and confliction had him growing quiet.

“I suppose it is time to get clean.”

“And feed me.”

“…Right.” He blinked through my orders.

I shifted my shoulders, trying to hide how I was getting stronger.

Lawrence pulled out of me, turning to roll off the bed.

As he headed into the adjoining bathroom, I fisted my hands as hard as I could.

My fingers flexed, and I scanned the room for some sort of weapon.

I wasn’t even sure I could stand on my own, but I had to try something.

“It has to be a few hours after lunch. And you barely ate any breakfast. I can’t believe I forgot to feed you.

” A growl mixed in with King Lawrence’s statement, and the shower started.

“No wonder you’re so upset. I was so ravenous to have you, I didn’t even consider how much energy I was taking out of you. Of course you must be hungry.”

Footsteps.

I glanced up to the IV, my lips parting as I realized the bag that was hanging was empty. Was that why I was getting stronger? Or was the doctor running late?

If he came in now, he’d drug me again. I’d lose any strength I was gaining.

King Lawrence headed back in, now wearing pajama pants. My mind scrambled as he headed for the bedroom door. I couldn’t let him call in the doctor.

“Wait. Where are you… going?”

He paused. “To have them make us some food.”

“Yes but…” His head tilted at my pause. “You’re not going… to kiss me or anything? Just… leave me? Just…treat me like nothing. A whore you can’t even bother covering up? You… could call for food. You… don’t love me.”

“What?” He walked to me in a fast pace, sitting on the edge of the bed. Slowly, he eased the cover up over my breasts. “Of course I love you.” He smiled. “You don’t want me to leave? I knew you’d start to come around. Penelope, I’ll never leave like you’re worried about.”

“But you were about to. Call for food.”

“I can’t. My phone is off. I’m literally going to walk to the next room and tell them to make us something.”

“Yell it from the door.” My eyes filled with tears. “Don’t leave me.”

His smile softened and grew even more.

“Alright. I’ll yell it. I won’t leave anywhere.”

The king stood, walking and opening the door. “Make us some food!” He turned, smiling back at me. “And hurry up with it.”

He closed the door, making his way back to the bed. Knocking was almost immediate. Lawrence turned back to the door and panic had my arm jerking down in the cuff.

My eyes cut back up to the empty bag, and I scanned the end table and surrounding area for something… anything.

“What?”

“Don’t leave me.”

The fear in my tone stopped Lawrence in his tracks. He turned, his forehead crinkling as he took me in.

“I’m not leaving. I promise.”

Suspicion flickered and he headed forward, cracking the door open.

“What?”

“Sire, I’ve given you a lot of time, but I’m afraid there are things we must discuss.”

“I’m making progress. What could be so important that we need to discuss it now?”

“The news—”

“What did I tell you about that?” The king’s voice was clipped. “The palace will handle anything that’s circulating.”

“But Sire, you don’t understand. The palace is under attack.”

“What?”

“Someone set your bed on fire. The news is saying it was an isolated event and could have possibly been caused from old wiring, but we both know that’s not true. Somehow, he set that fire, Your Majesty, and the warning is clear.”

A laugh left King Lawrence. “Why should I be afraid of that? I have Penelope, not him. Let him throw his fit. He got into the palace. So what. That means nothing. My best men are here. I’m not worried and neither should you.”

“To dismiss this would be a mistake.”

“Fine.” Anger thickened his tone. “What do you suggest we do?”

“We need to move. Staying in one spot too long makes it easier for him to find us.”

A pause. “And you don’t think a large group of vehicles traveling aren’t going to throw red flags?”

“We can split up—”

“Because that’s smart.”

“Your Majesty, we can’t stay here indefinitely. Not another day if you don’t want him to find you. I saw The Order. This Council that runs it is dangerous.”

“Not more dangerous than me. We’re finished talking about it. I’m giving Penelope a shower. If I see you again it better be because you have my food.” He paused. “Where’s Dr. Ayden?”

“No.”

King Lawrence turned to look at me.

“I don’t want him to see me… like this. After. You… help me.”

His lips twisted but he nodded.

“Food.”

He slammed the door, turning to come back to me.

“I need to call Dr. Ayden so he can unhook you like before.”

“It’s easy. You already watched… him do it a few times now when you… took me to the restroom.”

“You want me to do it?”

I let my eyes go round. For seconds I could see his battle. It had him letting out a sigh before he leaned forward, moving up to my cuffed hand.

“You remember. Disconnect the IV. There’s a small valve. Do you see it? Close that valve and detach the line. Leave the catheter in my hand in place.”

“…I don’t know.”

“Please. It’s simple.”

Pressure registered in my hand. King Lawrence made a sound.

“There. Got it. Look at that.”

He laughed, unlocking the cuff. I let my hand fall, knowing not to ruin this yet.

“That wasn’t too hard. I don’t know about hooking it back up though. I think I’ll call him in for that.”

“That might be for the best,” I agreed, feeling him relax a little as he undid the other cuff and pulled back the covers. When he scooped me in his arms, I could feel so much cum leaving me. I almost gagged, feeding from the need to bash his brains in.

“I’m not pulling at your stitches, right? I can’t believe how injured you are. Savages.”

My jaw tightened. “No. I’m fine. Where are we?” I looked around the room as he carried me in the bathroom. “I like this place. It seems… cozy.”

“It’s my favorite. The cottage came from my mother’s side. It’s truly nothing grand. Seven bedrooms. Four bath. It’s not far from the palace. Maybe forty-five minutes. It’s always been somewhere I’ve come when I need that sense of home. You know?”

“Yeah. I miss that feeling,” I said, lowly. “Although home was never a good place.”

“This can be your new home. With me. It can be ours.” He opened the small shower door, pausing as he seemed to sense his dilemma. He turned, spinning as he looked for a place to sit me down. “Here. Just go to the bathroom while I take these off.”

He lowered me to the toilet, reaching to hold to my shoulder as I began to sway. My lids closed and my face burned because I did have to go to the bathroom, and I hated that it once again had to be in front of him.

“See. Perfect. That worked out well.” He reached for the toilet paper, wiping over me before flushing.

More, heat took over me. He lifted me in his arms, heading back to open the shower.

“Now, let’s get you clean. I guess we lucked out that this one has a sitting area.

” He lowered me to cold marble, and I tried to hide the jolt.

“Just… lean my head over to the wall. I think I can… hold myself up so you can shower first.”

More words. I was getting stronger. Even as King Lawrence obeyed, I was almost sure I could sit up by myself if I had another few minutes. I was close. I may have been weak and off-balance, but I did have a small sense of control.

“I won’t let you fall.”
