Tate

Igazed around at the sea of flattened bodies felled by my alpha dominance. All except my friend and the red-haired female. My wolf tracked her curvy little body as she stalked away, Tank’s wolf trailing after her like a pathetic lost puppy.

Seeing Tank’s feral beast behaving like a submissive little bitch would have been hilarious under different circumstances, but I knew damn well this incident would get back to his father and also mine.

Fuck my life.

I ground my teeth in frustration. Where the fuck was Tobias?

Dance music pumped from hidden speakers, making my head ache.

Nobody moved a muscle as I crossed the ballroom toward the double doors where I’d last seen Tobias.

I stepped on a male’s fingers by accident, causing him to yelp in pain.

Not that I cared. He should have had the good sense to leave the minute Tank shifted. Stupid asshole.

Cold air helped cool my temper when I stepped outside. Tobias stood by the wall that overlooked a terrace, his usual smile absent for once.

“We have a problem,” I told him. “Tank’s lost his shit again.”

“Again?!” He stared at me in surprise.

“Yeah. He shifted and went for a guy before trotting off after some random female. A female who was immune to my alpha command.” I huffed, still salty about that.

Tobias blinked. “Female?”

I tried hard not to show my irritation. Was that really all he took from what I’d just told him? Goddess, save me from my stupid friends.

“Yes, female! But I’m more concerned about Tank shifting again.” My fists clenched at my sides. “Marcel will be furious, and Dad won’t be happy either.”

Not to mention both academies. They didn’t allow shifting at school socials.

Thank fuck Hunter Leone and Roxanne Raven were our supervisors this evening. Roxanne Raven would be too busy fucking a student outside, and Leone had vanished a while back. He hadn’t looked happy about being here. I hoped he’d gone off into the grounds to commune with nature or some such bullshit.

“What did the female look like?”

I snarled with exasperation at Tobias’s question. “Does it fucking matter? We need to find Tank and get him to shift back before anyone uploads a fucking video to ShifterTok!”

“Did she have red hair?” Tobias stood his ground, ignoring my furious snarl. “And a white dress and angel wings?”

My eyes narrowed to slits. “Yes. Why are you asking me this? Is there something I’m missing here?” The female had smelled delicious, and my wolf had definitely sat up and taken notice, but I’d been too busy worrying about Tank shifting to pay much attention to him.

“She smells of burned sugar, just like Riley. I think they might be related.” The shifty way he avoided my eyes suggested there was more to this than he was saying but now was not the time to argue.

“For fuck’s sake, I don’t give a shit about the female, Tobias. Now help me track down our brother so we can drag his stupid wolf away before he eats someone and gets himself thrown in the penitentiary!”
