Chapter 16
CHAPTER 16
KIT
T his isn’t my first DVP experience. But it might as well be, as powerful as this feels. I’m not really thinking too much about Logan, but it’s tough not to notice the slide of his dick against mine.
The friction’s like nothing else. And the soft squeeze of Eve, the fierce clench of aftershocks wracking the tight little vise of her sex. Jesus, the feeling’s intense.
Brushing damp hair off Eve’s forehead, I study her face. “You good to keep going?”
She laughs and I feel her slick little walls gripping me. “Uh, yes, please.”
Nodding at Logan, I set us in motion again. We start thrusting slowly, a rhythm Eve seems to enjoy. She’s making soft hums in the back of her throat, her cheeks and her chest flushed and rosy. God, she feels amazing.
I’ve never experienced anything like this. The soul-deep connection combined with the friction is leaving me a little unhinged. The cushion of her breasts, grazing my pecs as she wiggles her hips to contain us. She’s relaxing more now, moving with us instead of just taking it. I love the shift in energy, her power as she picks up the pace.
I love everything about this.
The vanilla-orange scent of her skin. The snug squeeze of her body, almost like she was built to envelop me. The knowledge that Logan is loving this too, delivering pleasure to my girl.
My girl.
And that’s when I know I can’t hold it back. I don’t mean orgasm—though that’s close, too. “Eve.” It feels wrong to tell her like this, but I can’t keep the words in. Keep the feelings to myself any longer. “Eve, honey.”
“Yeah.” She’s riding me faster, chasing another sharp peak. “Oh, Kit. God, this feels so right.”
“I know, baby.” The ache in my chest swells into something so big I can’t hold it back any longer. “I love you.”
Her eyes flutter wide as her perfect mouth opens. She lets out a cry that sounds like her soul is exploding. “Kit—oh my God— I love you !”
We shatter together, clutching each other as spasms shake both our bodies. Eve claws at my chest, eyes squeezing shut as I say it again.
“I love you.”
Logan lets out a roar and I feel him explode deep inside her. I’m coming too, one thunderclap chasing another until we’re all spent and breathless.
“Holy fuck.” Logan pulls out and shakes himself off like a dog. “That was insane.”
His big dopey grin makes me smile. But all my attention’s on Eve. Her cheek on my chest, her snug little channel still clenching around me. She’s panting so hard I’m afraid she’ll pass out. Stroking her hair, I shift so we’re both on our sides. “Eve? Are you okay?”
She starts laughing so hard I slip out of her. I rip off the condom and toss it aside, reminding myself to grab it later. Rolling us both to our sides, I brush the damp hair off her face.
“Honey?”
“Oh my God.” Flush-faced and rumpled, she laughs. “That was intense.”
“Intense good, right?” Just want to make sure. “Not like a root canal with no Novocain.”
“Ouch.” Logan lumbers away, giving us a moment. “I fucking loved it,” he calls from the bathroom. “So good I can’t feel my toes.”
With Logan gone now, it’s just Eve and me. I look in her eyes, needing to say it again. I don’t want her thinking I blurted it out in the heat of the moment. “I love you, Eve. I know it’s too soon, and we can still take things slowly, but I needed to say how I feel.”
“I know.” She grins and kisses the tip of my nose. “I love that about you. And I love you , Dr. Kit Christopher Topher Johnathan Plier.”
God . “This is what it’s meant to feel like.” I don’t mean to say that out loud, but the second I do, it seems right. “Being in love when nothing feels forced.”
Eve smiles. “I know what you mean.”
How did I never get this before? This is how it’s meant to feel. This bone-deep certainty I belong with someone. It’s what I’ve been chasing without even knowing it.
“We don’t need to rush anything.” I’m reassuring us both, acknowledging a need to tread cautiously. “I don’t know why it seems like we’ve known each other way longer than we have.”
“Maybe that’s why it doesn’t feel weird to say it right now.” She smiles as my hand strokes her back. “I’m sure about you, Kit.”
“I’m sure about you , Eve.”
We’re kissing again when Logan comes back from the bathroom. He’s keeping some distance as he pulls on his pants and his shirt. “I’m gonna give you guys the floor.” He bends down to kiss Eve’s cheek. “You’re amazing.”
“Thank you, Logan.” She catches his hand and smiles. “It was everything I hoped it would be.”
“Good.” He gives me a wink. “Hang on to her, buddy. You got a good one.”
“Will do.”
He punches my shoulder, then heads out the door with the soft click of a latch. Eve bites her lip.
“I hope that wasn’t rude. Not inviting him to stay?”
“The Eve I met two weeks ago would have already gotten dressed and set out a picnic lunch.” Grinning, I place a kiss on her forehead. “I love that you’re prioritizing your own pleasure.”
“And yours.” She smiles back and squeezes my arm. “I can’t believe it. We love each other, huh?”
“I’m afraid so.”
Her eyes go wide and she gasps. “Oh no!”
“What?”
She scrambles for the nightstand, kneeing my chest as she flounders. “I have to call Camille. I can’t keep lying to her like this. I respect your privacy, Kit, but we need to come clean about us.”
“Eve—”
“I’m such an asshole.” Her pretty face pinches with guilt as she fumbles with her phone. “I can’t keep this from her anymore. She’s my best friend and?—”
“Eve, stop.” Grabbing the phone from her hand, I set it down on the pillow between us. “Camille knows.”
She blinks. “Knows what?”
“Everything. I told her last night about the job. About coming here, spending time with you.” I rest a hand on her lush, rounded hip. “I told her I was falling in love with you.”
Her mouth falls open and she stares. “You’re kidding me.”
“Nope.” I tuck a stray wisp of hair behind her ear. “I told her about the study and how hard I’ve fallen for the woman she loves like a sister.”
There’s a crackle of static from the phone, then my sister’s voice shouting and muffled. “Please tell me you two are official.”
It’s my turn to blanch. I look at Eve. “You called ?”
“I hit speed-dial before you grabbed it.”
From the phone on the pillow, my sister calls out. “Put me on speaker. Or hell, let’s do a—video call.”
“No!” Eve and I look at each other and laugh.
We’re rolling with mirth, rocking together as my sister shouts something from the phone.
“Told you so, asshole.”
God, I love Eve. And I love my family, too.
Even better than that, I’m loving myself for the first time in a while. For having the courage to make this happen. To go after Eve, to share all my feelings without knowing for sure how she’d take it.
I love you , she mouths, and I smile.
Love you, too.
Out loud to my sister, I say, “Hanging up now.” I click off the call before Camille can intrude any further on this moment.
Looking deep in Eve’s eyes, I smile. “Want to be my girlfriend?”
“I’d love to.” She grins. “Want to go to a sex resort together?”
Laughing, I roll her onto her back. “Way ahead of you, babe.”
