Chapter 22 #2
I reach over and take her hand. “Thank you, Tilly.” I’m unable to voice the full extent of my gratitude for her being with us tonight, but when Tilly’s eyes soften and she gives me a small nod, I know she understands.
Tilly squares her shoulders and goes back into nurse mode.
“As an extra precaution, I want you to completely cover yourself with sunscreen, and keep all the curtains closed just in case you missed a spot. In the morning, the sun will also seem much brighter than you’re used to right now, so don’t feel alarmed at first.”
“Yes, nurse,” I answer, Arran echoing me when Tilly turns her stern gaze on him.
Tilly stands. “I’ll give you both some privacy for the biting portion of tonight’s events, and will wait in the guest wing until Arran gives me the signal. If you need me at any point before that, please shout.”
I stand too and hug my cousin before she heads back up the stairs.
Turning to Arran, I say, “I’m ready.”
Hands clasped together, we slowly make our way to our room, each step leading us toward our future.
Tonight, almost a hundred candles are placed around the room, bathing the usually cool gray stones in a romantic honey glow.
Arran takes his time removing my clothes, placing the gentlest of kisses on every inch of skin he uncovers.
Before he lays me on the bed, Arran grabs the bottle of sunscreen and meticulously covers my entire body, from my eyelids, my ears, down to the tiny little crevices between my toes.
My eyes stay locked on Arran’s body as he coats himself too, then he’s climbing onto the bed, lowering himself between my waiting thighs.
“You are the most beautiful, most magnificent, most selfless creature I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing,” Arran says as he glides his cock between my pussy lips and coats himself in my arousal.
Brushing my hands over his shoulders, I pull him down to me and nip his bottom lip. “That’s one hell of a compliment considering how many creatures you’ve met in your very long lifetime.”
“That’s my Audrey,” Arran says with a broad smile that shows off his fangs as he pushes into me.
Arran keeps his pace slow, keeping our bodies aligned, our gazes locked as he makes love to me like he’s never done before. Every thrust feels meaningful, every touch reverent, every second solidifying our bond as we build to our inevitable climax.
Tears fill my eyes as the moment approaches, my orgasm hovering right on the edge as I present him my neck and say, “I love you, Arran. Bite me. Make me yours, forever.”
“Mine,” Arran roars as his own climax takes him and he sinks his fangs into my neck.
Inexplicable bliss fills me as the first traces of venom reach my veins, my second orgasm barreling into my first as Arran drinks and drinks from me.
My hands push his head further into my neck, never wanting this feeling to end.
Thankfully Arran doesn’t want to stop either. He keeps fucking me through it all, drinking and sucking, his hips never stuttering.
By my fifth orgasm, I stop counting, my limbs getting weaker as I realize I’m being drained.
Arran doesn’t remove his fangs, but mumbles against my skin, “I love you, Audrey. I’ve got you. You’re mine. You’re safe. Sleep now.”
With pleasure still coursing through me, I start to drift toward the beckoning darkness until everything goes quiet and I feel nothing but peace.
“Why are you breathing so loud?” I croak, not feeling like opening my eyes quite yet.
“Audrey?” Arran asks, his familiar fingers wrapping around mine.
I wince. “No shouting. Can I get some water?”
“Is that what you really want?” Arran asks carefully.
My sleepy brain takes a good minute to process the question and then the events of last night come flooding back.
Eyes flying open, I sit up in the bed only to see Arran kneeling on the ground next to me, his eyes red and his clothes rumpled.
“Are you okay?” I ask him, pulling him up easily until he’s sitting next to me.
Arran frames my face and studies me. “Audrey? Are you okay?”
“Yeah? Shouldn’t I be?” I flex my arms, checking if they’re bigger now that I feel invincible.
I can probably pick Arran up and give him a piggyback ride if I wanted to. Or maybe I’ll carry him bridal style.
“You basically died in my arms,” Arran says, his hands tenderly gliding all over me like he’s still not sure I’m really here.
“But I’m not dead anymore,” I say, giving him a wide smile.
Something catches on my lip and I reach up to feel a sharp tooth that wasn’t there before. “Quick, give me a mirror. I want to see my fangs.”
“Later,” Arran says, presenting me with my chalice. “Drink first. You’re going to need your strength.”
“Oh yes. Let’s test that out soon.”
Arran fills the chalice with a dark red liquid and I give it a careful swirl and bring it to my nose for a sniff.
“It’s not wine,” Arran remarks.
“Maybe not, but I can always pretend it is.”
For the first time since I was dead, Arran cracks a smile. “I think you’re the happiest vampire I’ve ever met.”
I wiggle my brows at him. “Helps that you fucked me so good that I felt nothing but peace and happiness as I went unconscious.”
“You didn’t have any pain?”
“None. And that’s all thanks to you.” I take a sip of the thick liquid and let it roll over my tongue before I swallow it down. “Not bad. Would you like some?”
“Sure,” Arran breathes out and sips from my chalice.
“Looking like a badass queen,” I say with a wink.
Arran rubs a finger over my bottom lip. “I think that smart mouth needs to be taught a lesson.”
“Only if you can catch me,” I shout as I bolt out of the bed.
And so the first day of the rest of my life starts, adventure after adventure waiting to be had with my Arran, Starry Hill, and whoever else we’ll be fortunate enough to call our friends.
