CHAPTER FOUR #2

Ben was smiling with his eyes closed, and his face was a picture of total contentment. "You make my body sing, Gabriel," Ben said, his voice hoarse and broken.

Gabriel smiled and kissed him softly and then helped him rinse off before turning off the water and stepping out. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around Ben and grabbed one for himself and wrapped it around his hips. "How about we relax and order breakfast?"

"I only reserved the room for one night," Ben told him.

“I extended it last night before coming up.” Gabriel took the phone and ordered breakfast before pulling Ben back down onto the bed and cradling him on his chest. Gabriel took Ben's towel off and tossed it on a chair, preferring the man nude in his arms.

“Come in.” James entered Leif's office, and his brother Yule, his lead enforcer, was already there.

James took a seat on the small couch by the wall.

Yule was seated in the matching chair, and Leif was behind his desk.

Their eyes trained on him with an intensity that made him scowl.

There was something in the air, and he had the distinct impression he wasn't going to like it.

"Master Rose from Chicago called this morning to inform me that one of his men, a coven guard, found his beloved within my pack." Leif paused, and James was wondering what the big reveal was going to be and how it affected him.

“The guard is Gabriel Jordan, and he scented his beloved last night at the banquet.” Leif continued.

"Who is it?" James finally asked, curious since there were only three pack members at the banquet and he knew it wasn't him. It had to be either Caleb or . . . Ben.

"Ben Dalton." He stated, and for a moment James did not respond he did not comprehend the information at first. "They are together, and Ben will be joining him at the Coven. I know that you had an understanding of sorts with Ben in the past, but you never really paid him any particular regard.” Leif attempted to ease his shock.

“You have fucked every willing hole in the pack. I doubt you will lament the loss of Ben." Yule spoke up, clearly harboring some spite. "There are plenty of omegas who would bond with you, or you could wait for your Fated mate."

“Ben belongs to me.” He finally snapped and bit out the words.

"Ben belongs to his Fated mate, and that is paranormal law." Leif lost his friendly tone and laid out the facts clearly. "It is done, and Ben's things will be packed and delivered to the Rose Coven. You have no say in this matter, James."

James swallowed his anger, knowing full well that he could not act up in front of the Alpha and his brother.

He seethed with a rage that burned. Ben was his, and no one, especially not some asshole vampire guard, was going to take him.

Ben was with that guard, that's why he didn't return last night and why he had not returned this morning. He stood and asked to be excused.

"Be happy for him, James it's a wonderful thing to find your mate." Leif gave a parting comment, and James nodded, avoiding eye contact and quickly left the office. He could barely see straight as the anger took over and his wolf thundered in his mind.

Gabriel Jordan had no rights to James' omega, no matter what anyone said or any law claimed.

Ben was his property, and that had been made clear several years ago.

James went to his room, slammed the door behind him, and began to pace back and forth.

The desire to take back what was driving him insane.

He was startled by a knock at his door, and he simply stood and stared at the door for a while before speaking. "Who is it?" He barked.

“Caleb." Came the careful response. "I heard about Ben and thought you might want some company.

" James couldn't help the hateful grin that graced his lips.

The omega was noticing an opportunity, and who could blame him for taking the initiative?

Maybe another hot omega ass would help him control this internal frenzy he was feeling.

James walked to the door, unlocked it, and slowly swung it open. Caleb was standing there, all blonde and beautiful, wearing only a long t-shirt. James could smell that he was eager to please.

"Are you wearing anything under that shirt?" He asked, and Caleb shook his head.

"It's all for you, James. I can please you better than Ben ever could.

" He said, his voice sugary sweet, and his eyes were filled with lust and longing.

Caleb reached under his long shirt and started stroking himself, lust consuming his eyes.

James considered the offer for a few seconds and then grabbed him by the upper arm and pushed him back out the door.

“I have no time for you.” He growled.

"Ben is already with his mate at the Parkway Hotel; they've already bonded.

" Caleb shot back, trying to wound. "He's out of your reach; you can never have him.” James slammed the door in his face and turned around.

The anger he'd tried to suppress was not letting go.

Ben knew better he knew who he belonged to.

"I don't give a fuck whether he found his mate or not. " He shouted.
