Chapter Fourteen #2
“Eddard.” His voice was cold, distant, and so unlike the man I knew.
Eddard was the name of this rather unimpressive man? I had no idea who he was or what his deal was, but the fact that he upset Kolvar was more than enough reason for me to not like him.
“I thought I was seeing shit.” The man offered a full smile, his teeth as bright as his white hair, both contrasting his dark blue eyes that filled with a glint malicious enough to cause my eyes to narrow on him in suspicion.
What did this man want?
Eddard continued without looking my way. “I told the others there was no way that someone of Kolvar’s position would come down from his high tower to mingle with the rest of us. That there was no possible way he was on the docks—I see that I was wrong.”
“You have one chance to get out of my sight,” Kolvar’s voice was deadly soft. “One chance only. I’m not dealing with your shit today.”
“What shit?” The man spit out, his face turning red despite the fear I could see in his gaze. “My shit is that I’m still fucking pissed. Pissed that you sabotaged my chance at the position you now have, simply because you were jealous.”
Kolvar barked out a cold laugh. “Jealous? No. And I didn’t sabotage anything, Eddard. I told them exactly what I saw—what I walked in on. Next time, don’t steal from a commander, and I won’t have to report it.”
“I didn’t steal shit,” Eddard spit out. “Besides, that was forever ago. They’re holding a grudge against me because of you.”
Kolvar inhaled, growing more and more pissed. I ran a hand over his chest, drawing his gaze down to me. “Let’s go. Seriously, let’s just get back to the castle.”
It was clear these two had history, and Kolvar seemed to have moved past it while Eddard had stewed in his anger—blaming all his problems in his military career on Kolvar.
“I suppose it doesn’t matter now,” Eddard drew out, upset that we weren’t focused on him anymore. “But I do find it interesting that the only thing that could bring you down to the docks was to show off this ship to a piece of pussy—”
Kolvar was gone in the next breath—slamming into Eddard, gripping his throat, and launching him more than twenty feet away like a rag doll.
The man let out a pained groan from where he fell into a heap on the dock.
When he tried to sit up, looking even more angry, I decided to step in, intercepting Kolvar and keeping him from stepping forward.
“Kolvar. Let’s go, seriously.” I didn’t need him to get in trouble because this guy was a piece of crap.
“You heard what he called you,” he spit out. “He can’t get away with that—he won’t.”
I could see the fury he wanted to rain down, so I did the only thing I could think of to turn his aggression to something else.
I popped up on my toes and kissed him hard.
At first, he didn’t respond, but his tension snapped in the next moment, and he let out a low growl and kissed me back as he wrapped an arm around me.
That man could call me whatever he wanted. His opinion and thoughts of me or our relationship meant less than nothing to me. I’d do what was needed to get Kolvar out of here and away from the trouble Eddard was trying to instigate as some form of payback.
When I pulled back, I slipped out of his arms and stepped back. Confusion filled his heated gaze.
“Kyella.”
It was a tone of warning, filled with realization, as I took another step back.
“What?”
“Get back here, darling,” he drew out. His gaze traveled down to my feet as I took another step back, a predatory light flashing in the depths of his eyes.
I took another step…and another.
“Kyella.” His voice was sharper this time, and my smile grew.
I’d successfully distracted him.
“If you want me to be at your side…” I trailed off as I took three more quick steps back. With a wicked smile, I continued, “You’ll have to come and get me.”
Immediately, I turned and used my full vampyre speed to propel myself forward, banking on the fact that he wanted to chase me more than he wanted to pummel Eddard. I was right.
When I looked back, a surprised squeak came from my throat to see him chasing after me. Adrenaline surged through my system, and even though I knew it was Kolvar, an instinctual part of me pushed myself to run even faster.
As I slipped onto the busy street of the marketplace, I felt a small surge of victory that I’d made it this far. I didn’t bother slowing down, and no one was paying us mind as I slipped between the bodies pressing into the space.
“Kyella!”
Shit. He was much closer this time. I ran through the castle gates—
“Shit,” I moaned as Kolvar caught me, pressing me between his bulk and a nearby wall.
We were slightly shaded by trees as we stood there, one of his hands splayed across my abdomen as the other strung itself through my hair before tugging slightly.
My breathing was rough, and a flush had worked its way over my skin. My heart beat loudly in my ears.
“Don’t run from me. You know what it does to me.” He nipped my neck lightly as my legs pressed together, and I arched my back. I tried to turn my head, but he stopped me, using the control he had to tilt it so my neck was completely bared to him. I shivered when he ran his tongue along my skin.
I did know what it did to him, and I would never deny that I loved it. I wanted that side of him just as much as the other parts of him that I adored.
I whimpered, “Kolvar, please—”
“Promise me you won’t run until I tell you to, Kyella,” he growled, running his tongue against my skin.
“Please bite me,” I moaned.
“Fuck, we can’t do this out here,” he snarled, more to himself than to me.
Almost immediately, I found myself swept up into his arms and being run through the castle until we were inside my room.
It felt like a mere second before I was thrown onto the bed, bouncing slightly.
I sat up, feeling a surge of excitement, as he came to stand at the edge of the bed.
“You ran from me.” His hand wrapped around my throat as I looked up at him, a coy smile slipping onto my lips.
“I did, and I would do it again,” I admitted breathlessly. “You like it when I run from you.”
A flare of dominance in his gaze caused my entire body to heat with excitement.
“On your knees.”
“What?” I whispered, pressing my thighs together as need flared within me, growing brighter and hotter with each passing second.
“I’m going to teach you what happens when you run from me without me telling you to,” he rumbled out. “On your knees, Kyella.”
I didn’t hesitate to slide off the bed as he stepped back, and I dropped down in front of him. I could feel how wet I was, and my pulse hitched as I positioned myself on the carpet, kneeling and looking up at him.
“Fuck, you are beautiful.” Kolvar ran a hand through my hair gently enough that it caused pleasurable chills to roll over me. “I can’t wait to be buried deep inside your throat.”
I nearly moaned at how the dirty words sounded coming from him.
“Take my cock out,” he demanded, and I reached forward eagerly, pulling at the button of his pants and easily undoing them. He used one hand to aid me in freeing his cock, and the second I could, I gripped his length, pulling a deep groan from his throat.
“I could come from your touch alone,” he murmured.
“Well, I want to do more than just touch you,” I answered, leaning forward and running my tongue along the tip of his cock.
A hiss pushed between his teeth as his hands delved further into my hair and tightened before he slid his cock between my lips.
My body hummed with desire at the taste of him.
I gagged slightly as he hit the back of my throat, holding himself there as I looked up at him, my eyes watering slightly.
The way he was looking over me, his gaze locked on where his cock rested between my lips, left me feeling powerful, despite being on my knees.
When he pulled back, his breathing had turned ragged, and I leaned forward, wanting him back in my mouth.
“So fucking greedy, darling,” he growled, giving me what I wanted as my fingers ran up his forearms to grip them. Both of his hands intertwined in my hair as he took control of my head. When I moaned around his cock, it caused him to snap.
He began to stroke in and out of my mouth at a hammering pace, and I tried to relax my throat as much as possible.
I could see him unraveling as he looked down at me, making it impossible to break his gaze.
The need and affection I saw there was an intoxicating mix, and my entire body felt like it was on fire in response.
I moved my fingers down my body to cup my breasts, wishing I had more access to relieve myself of the frustration building within me.
“Look at you taking all of me,” Kolvar said in a rough voice. “Go ahead and pull up that dress, darling. I want you to touch yourself while I fuck this pretty mouth.”
I moaned as I listened to him, continuing to let him use my mouth as I pulled up my skirt. My free hand slipped underneath my soaked panties. I whimpered at how wet I was, and he groaned at whatever expression crossed my face when I circled my clit.
Something about the sight caused him to pump in and out of my throat even faster, his chaotic pace only interrupted when he would stop and hold himself at the back of my throat.
Each time nearly made me come, and I found myself wishing that he was buried inside of my pussy instead of my mouth.
With a throaty moan, I increased the pressure and pace on my clit, matching his thrusts as I struggled to hang on.
“Fuck, I can smell how wet you are. You’re going to come, aren’t you?”
I tried to nod as he groaned. “I am also, darling. I want you to come with me. I want my cum to coat your insides, and I want to watch your throat bob as you swallow it down. I want to see your body shaking with pleasure. I want to watch your pleasure rolling through you as your body shatters.”
His words were exactly what I needed to push me over the precipice. I saw stars as my body jerked, and Kolvar groaned, burying himself fully in my mouth as he spilled down my throat just as he promised. Holy shit.
As I began to come down from my climax—I realized we weren’t alone. Elijah and Dakath.
Kolvar let out a low rumble, pulling out from my mouth before gently lifting me up, not bothering to fix himself first. I straightened my dress and looked toward the two men, feeling only slightly awkward about them walking in on us…until I saw their expressions.
Were they upset about what they’d just seen? Surely they weren’t. I’d had private, intimate moments with each of them.
No, this had to be something else, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to know.
