Chapter 23

Jin found Audra arranging lunch by dietary preference and confiscated the pencil.

“I’m not a child,” she said.

“Then you can survive without assigning salad.”

They stood in the kitchen at four, later than any sensible lunch. Roman was in his room. Luis had taken tea to the terrace. Audra had slept for forty minutes after her encounter and woken with the urgent conviction that everyone required food in the correct proportions.

Jin held the notepad out of reach by approximately six inches, which was enough to be irritating but not effective if she chose force.

“What were you preventing?” he asked.

“Low blood sugar and resentment.”

“Did anyone report either?”

“Luis said he was hungry on the group thread.”

“Luis can make a sandwich.”

“Roman might want—”

Jin’s expression stopped her.

Audra exhaled. “I was balancing the day.”

“With lunch meat.”

“Systems begin somewhere.”

“Sit with me.”

The words were not a command. They carried no less force.

“Do you want pair time?” she asked.

“Yes. But first I want you to eat whatever you want without using food to equalize sex.”

Heat rose in her face. “You don’t know what happened.”

“I don’t need to. I know you came into the kitchen and began assigning care.”

Audra looked at the counter. She wanted turkey, mustard, and the tomatoes Luis had sliced earlier. “Fine.”

“A ringing endorsement of autonomy.”

They made separate sandwiches. Jin chose cheese and cucumbers. They ate at the small breakfast table, not discussing Roman. When Audra finished, Jin asked her capacity.

“Seven physical. Eight emotional. Sore only in the good way. You?”

“Eight and seven. I want you. I also want my desire not to become recovery service.”

“What do you want?”

“My room. Kissing, undressing, oral touch if we both want it, and mutual touch. I want you to ask what you can give me before praising what I give you. No penetration today. Sixty minutes maximum, then I want to sleep alone.”

Audra felt desire answer immediately. “I want that. I also want permission to ask for more pressure or speed without you treating the request as criticism.”

“Please criticize the technique, not my character.”

“Surgical.”

“Consistent.”

They completed the fresh threshold in the hall, then entered Jin’s private room by his invitation.

He locked the door from inside. His novel lay on the nightstand.

Clothes had not been staged for effect. The bed was narrower than the shared-suite bed and felt more intimate because it belonged to his retreat space.

“May I kiss you?” Audra asked.

“Yes.”

She crossed the room and took his face between her hands. The kiss began with hunger already informed by last night. Jin opened to her, let her set pressure, then reversed the rhythm by catching her lower lip with his teeth.

Audra made a surprised sound.

“Still safe?” he asked.

“Do that again.”

He did, harder after she said yes.

Their clothes came off through separate questions.

Jin removed Audra’s blouse when she asked him to, kissing each shoulder as fabric left it.

She unbuttoned his shirt and then requested the rest. He stood naked before her without making his compact body an apology.

Muscle, a soft line at his waist, erection rising without coyness.

Audra looked openly.

“What do you want to give me?” Jin asked.

The question interrupted her instinct to wait for his care.

“My mouth,” she said. “If you want it.”

His breath changed. “I do.”

“On the bed or standing?”

“Bed. I want to see you comfortably.”

They arranged pillows, a towel, and room for her knees. Jin lay back. Audra knelt beside him rather than between his legs at first, touching his chest and stomach, learning the reactions he could not smooth into attentiveness.

“May I touch your cock?”

“Yes.”

Her hand closed around him. Jin’s eyes shut, then opened because he wanted to watch. Audra stroked slowly, adjusting her grip at his direction. She did not act grateful when he said firmer. She gave him firmer.

“Mouth?” she asked.

“Yes. No deep-throat expectation. Stop if your jaw tires.”

“Agreed.”

Audra bent and took the head between her lips. Jin’s hand moved toward her hair and stopped.

“May I touch your head without directing?”

“Yes.”

His palm rested lightly against her. Audra used hand and mouth together, tasting salt and skin, listening to his breath break. The pleasure of giving did not make her responsible for completion. She paused twice to ask. The second time Jin’s answer came rough.

“Continue. Same.”

She did until his hips shifted involuntarily and he said Amber.

Audra stopped, released him, and sat back. “Scope?”

“Oral paused. I don’t want to come yet. Stay close.”

“Yes.”

He pulled her beside him after asking and kissed her, tasting himself without comment. His hands moved over her breasts, stomach, hips. Audra’s mature body did not become a list of reassurance. Jin desired its weight, temperature, and response.

“May I use my mouth on you?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“Position?”

“On my back. Pillow under my hips.”

They adjusted. Audra’s left hamstring threatened to cramp when she opened her legs too wide, so she changed the angle. No one interpreted physiology as failure.

Jin settled between her thighs without touching until she looked down at him.

“Tell me what you want,” he said.

“Your tongue on my clitoris. Start soft. Fingers later only if I ask.”

“Yes.”

The first contact made her exhale. Jin did not monitor the whole room because there were only two of them and his own desire belonged inside the scene. He tasted her, adjusted to her hand on his shoulder, and followed the pressure she named.

When Audra began praising how well he took care of her, Jin stopped.

She lifted her head. “Amber?”

“No. Question. What do you want to give me now?”

Her face changed from pleasure to recognition. She reached down. “My attention. My hand while you touch me. I want to feel your pleasure in this, not only receive.”

“Ask.”

“Lie beside me. Let me touch you while you use your hand on me.”

Jin wanted the request with an intensity that made his chest ache. “Yes.”

They changed position. Side by side, Audra wrapped her hand around him while Jin slid his fingers between her thighs.

Mutual touch destroyed the illusion that one person gave and the other received.

They corrected rhythm, laughed when elbows collided, slowed when Audra’s shoulder needed adjustment, and resumed after fresh yeses.

Jin approached orgasm first. “I want to come in your hand.”

“Yes.”

“Do you want to keep touching me?”

“Yes.”

She increased the pace at his request. Jin came with his face against her neck, body tightening, no ability left to make tenderness elegant. Audra held him through it without narrating care.

After a minute, he asked, “Do you want to continue for you?”

“Yes. Your hand. Slower first.”

He cleaned his hand, changed the towel, and returned only after checking. His touch became precise again but not professional. Audra guided him verbally until pleasure built. When she came, she said his name and nothing about safety.

Afterward, Jin accepted water from her. He accepted the cool cloth she offered. Then he said, “I’m empty now.”

Audra’s hand paused near his shoulder.

“Do you want me to leave?”

“Yes. No reassurance needed. I want sleep.”

Disappointment crossed her face. She did not substitute tea, a note, or a promise.

“Thank you for telling me,” she said.

She dressed, kissed him once after permission, and left his room.

Jin locked the door, set a two-hour alarm only because he wanted dinner later, and slept with the clean, selfish relief of a man who had received pleasure and still been allowed to close the door.

He woke before the alarm to a message from Luis: Dinner in ninety minutes. Attendance optional. No response needed.

Jin appreciated that the message contained no inquiry about his encounter. He answered only because he wanted to: I plan to attend. Capacity check then.

At dinner, Roman and Luis were discussing the shared suite's availability. Jin listened until invited and said, “I want it to remain possible tonight. My yes now is to discussion, not intimacy.”

Audra did not summarize his position as caution. “Understood.”

Roman said, “I want group discussion too.”

Luis said, “Same.”

They scheduled the threshold after individual check-ins, not immediately after food. Jin noticed everyone watching his calm and stated what the calm did not show.

“I am jealous of Roman's pair use of the suite,” he said. “I am also pleased my room remained private. I do not need reassurance through detail.”

Roman answered, “Thank you for saying it.”

No one asked Jin to make the feeling easier.
