Chapter 21 #2
Butcher was standing in front of me in all his glory. Even with the alcoholic coma he was in, his glory wasn’t too shabby.
“Jordan,” Ricochet snarled and my eyes snapped up to his. “Outside. Now. I’ll finish up here and come find you.”
He didn’t have to tell me twice. Okay, he had.
All of these men were handsome, huge, and had a dangerous edge, but it didn’t mean I needed to see all their bits and bobs.
I’d already seen far too much of Butcher.
Besides, no one could outshine Ricochet in my eyes.
Not that I’d gotten to see all of him yet.
Though I’d gotten to feel quite a bit from the night before.
I hurried outside and took a deep breath of fresh air as the door closed behind me.
“Where’s the fire?” Hush asked as he walked up.
Smiling, I said good morning, then pointed over my shoulder. “Butcher and Toxic-”
“Say no more darlin’. I’ll go give Ricochet a hand.”
He squeezed my shoulder as he went past and disappeared into the clubhouse.
I laughed to myself and shook my head. Here I was, a boring, self-proclaimed stick in the mud, and I’d just spent the night with a biker at his clubhouse. The things we’d done made my toes curl in my shoes at the memory. Then the antics of his brothers just made it that much better.
“That’s a beautiful sound early in the morning.”
This time it was Lockout walking toward me.
I stiffened slightly, unsure of what to do.
Ricochet’s president was standing in front of me and he was nowhere around.
He still hadn’t fully explained what all the rules were here, and while the girls had told me about a few, I didn’t want to do something to mess things up for him.
“What’s wrong?” Lockout asked, a frown forming on his face.
“Nothing. Sorry, I just…” I licked my lips then gave him a weak smile.
“No one has exactly explained all your rules. I don’t want to accidentally do something to get Ricochet in trouble.
” The girls had definitely mentioned that a brother could get kicked out if his old lady made too much trouble for the club.
I remembered that vividly despite the alcohol.
Lockout stood staring at me for a few heartbeats, then a large smile spread over his face. “Trust me, Jordan. If you’re that worried about it, you likely won’t ever have anything to worry about.”
It was my turn to frown. “What do you mean?”
“The biggest rule for the old ladies is to remember that this is your old man’s club and not to make trouble for him. You’re already following that rule.” He folded his arms over his chest. “Something tells me you won’t have an issue.”
I smiled at him, relaxing a little. “Thanks. I-”
The door burst open behind us and my eyes widened as a naked Toxic bolted down the stairs toward us. He was on a collision course with me, but was looking over his shoulder at a pissed off Hush and Ricochet as they chased him.
“Get back here, Asshole!” Hush bellowed.
Something slammed into me from the side, knocking me out of the way. Strong arms were around me, preventing me from falling as Lockout picked me up off my feet in a form of a tackle in order to keep Toxic from slamming into me.
My feet hit the ground about the time Hush took Toxic down into the dirt and gravel. I winced as they skidded to a halt. That wasn’t going to feel good, picking the gravel out of all the naked flesh later.
“You okay?” Lockout asked, setting me aside and snatching his hands back as soon as I was steady.
“Yes, thank you.” I was stunned and all I could do was laugh at the shenanigans. “Is it always like this?”
Lockout gave me a wry grin. “No. This was a tame party.”
“I can see why you guys like it. All freedom and fun,” I replied.
Lockout’s smile dimmed, but didn’t disappear. “Not always, but we do our best to enjoy our down time.” He nodded toward me, then went to help the others with a still struggling Toxic.
Angry blue eyes met mine and I looked away as they wrestled Toxic to his feet. I’d now had an up close look at two of Ricochet’s brothers naked. It was two too many if his scowl was any indication.
“There’s ladies around,” Lockout barked at Toxic. A quick glance showed the drunk man hanging his head in shame. “You’re going to go sleep it off in your room. Get your shit together and walk, Toxic.”
Lockout and Hush were helping the man to his feet, supporting him as they all hobbled toward the clubhouse.
Lockout reminded me a lot of Ricochet. He was older, and his hair was a darker brown, and his eyes were hazel rather than blue, but despite those differences, I might have wondered if they were brothers if I didn’t know that Gwen only had the one.
“Fuck, are you okay? I’m sorry about that.” Ricochet was wrapping me up in his arms before I had the chance to respond. “Glad Lock was there to get you out of the way.”
“Toxic is a lot faster than he looks.”
Ricochet chuckled. “He’s a lot of things. Both him and Butcher.”
“Why was he running?”
“Had this idea he was going to find himself some new playmates, since he woke up and realized we’d put his others to bed.”
“All of those women were…with him?” I asked, eyes wide.
Ricochet led me across the parking lot and started fitting my helmet on my head. “Who knows. Could’ve all been his. Or Butcher’s. Or they split them up between them. Or… You get it,” he said when he realized the look of shock on my face was growing with each word.
This really was a whole different world. Was I ready for it?
