Chapter 40

Eva

"Where are we going?" I asked with a laugh as Idaho pulled me in close and began walking us toward his car.

"I have a surprise for you."

I waited while he opened the door, then slid inside and watched him walk around his car to get into the driver's seat.

It was early, only six a.m. and the sun wasn't even up yet.

I laid my head back against the headrest as he drove.

My parents had called and let me know that they'd made it home.

I was all settled in once more at the clubhouse.

It had been a few days since everything had happened and I was slowly getting over the shock that I'd gotten my freedom.

I was here. With Idaho. And my heart was so happy I swear it was about to burst in my chest.

Dozing, I jerked when Idaho cupped my cheek in his hand. "Wake up."

My eyes opened and I squinted. The sun was up now, casting a soft glow over the desert. "Where are we?"

"Mt. Lemmon," he answered before he got out of the car. He helped me out, then linked our fingers and walked me over to a field of massive boulders.

They were everywhere on the side of the road and one was worn smooth, hanging out over a drop off that made my head spin.

My heart kicked in my chest, but I trusted Idaho with my life.

I scrambled up onto it and we walked out to the edge.

The sun was slowly climbing in the sky and the city looked tiny from where we were.

"This is beautiful," I said, leaning against his side.

His arm came around me and he kissed the top of my head. "I thought you might like this." He pulled something out of his pocket and dropped onto one knee.

I stared at him in shock. He had said that he wanted to marry me, but I didn't think he'd propose so soon. He was in the usual jeans, t-shirt, cut, and boots, but I'd now seen photos of him in a power suit, too. This man was an enigma, and he was all mine.

"I told you before I was going to make you mine," he warned. I laughed softly. "I'm going to drive you insane. I'll be pushy and demanding, and...I'll spend every day making sure you get everything you want." He searched my eyes. "Eva, you're already my old lady. Will you also be my wife?"

I nodded my head as tears began to stream down my face. He stood up and slipped the ring onto my finger. It was gorgeous and unique, just like him. Wrapping my arms around his shoulders when he stood, I kissed him. We stood that way, wrapped up in each other for a long time.

Eventually, he pulled back. "We need to get going or we'll be late."

"Late for what?" I asked.

"You'll see."

I was too excited to sleep this time and I watched the scenery fly by as we made our way down the mountain and into town. I frowned up at the building as we parked. "The courthouse?" I looked over at him. "What are you up to?"

"You'll see."

My mind whirled as he rushed me out of the car, into the building, and then made me wait out in the hall while he did whatever he was doing inside. He motioned to me to join him after about fifteen minutes.

"Sign here," the clerk said in a bored tone.

I started to ask what I was signing, but Idaho squeezed my arm, indicating for me to just sign. His eyes were telling me to trust him, so I signed with a flourish and waited as he finished up.

"Let's get back home," he said.

Shaking my head, I couldn't help but smile. I had no clue what he was up to, but he seemed so excited. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot the women met me and whisked me away.

"Let me see that ring," Seek demanded, then sighed when she saw it. "It's gorgeous."

"Thank you. Do-do you know what's going on?" I asked.

Jenny looked around at the others with a smile then asked, "How do you feel about getting married today?"

I stared at her in shock. "Today?"

"Yeah, everyone's here. Idaho's assistant, Andrew, and a few of us have planned the whole thing," Gwen said.

"Is that okay?" Sloane asked, worry pulling her brows together.

"I-" Looking around at their excited faces, I couldn't think of a single reason why it wouldn't be okay. I loved Idaho. I wanted to marry him. Today. Tomorrow. Twelve years from now. I didn't care when. "Yes!"

"Yay!" Jordan shouted, surprising me. She grinned sheepishly at me. "I love weddings. I'm still waiting for this one to tie the knot." She poked at Jenny.

"We will," Jenny said with a laugh. "We just want to take it slowly for all the girls' sake."

"Those girls love you," Susie said. "They'll be thrilled once you two decide to finally have a wedding."

"Besides," Dani said, with a smile, "it's not like you've gotten married yet either." She pointed her finger at Jordan.

"Everyone needs this," Kit said softly as she put her arm around my shoulder and hugged me. "Everyone's a bit sad that Keely's gone."

I nodded. The mood was somber over the last few days. If this would help take everyone's minds off it, I was more than happy to oblige.

"We tried to get your family to come back," Seek said slowly, choosing her words carefully.

"I doubt you succeeded," I told her with an understanding smile. "It would be too soon for father to accept something like this."

"Your sisters really wanted to come," Tori added. She held up an iPad, "This is the best we could do." I looked into the smiling faces of my sisters on the screen.

"That's perfect," I said. Before I could say more to them I was pulled away.

"We'll see you soon." my sister called out as I was carted off.

"Okay," Kit said, smiling, "only happy fun things are allowed today. Tori's great at doing hair and I'm decent with makeup, but we can call in professionals if you'd rather?"

"No," I told her firmly. "I only want to spend today with my family."

That's what they were now. My family.

We spent hours getting ready. Even the dogs had their own little tuxedo shirts to wear to the ceremony.

It was the cutest thing ever. When I got my first look at the gown Idaho had bought, I nearly wept.

Given my station in life it would have been understandable if he'd gotten some frilly, poofy princess dress.

Instead, he got a sleek, sexy sheath dress that flared out near the bottom and left my entire back bare.

My father would be furious if he saw it, but I absolutely loved it.

"I have to admit," Jordan said. "If any of the guys said they bought a dress, I would probably be scared, but he did good."

"That is such a beautiful dress," Sloane told me.

"I love it," I whispered.

We'd started the day as the sun was rising and now that it was beginning to sink in the sky we were moving forward. The women ushered me into the back area, where the grass was and my eyes watered when I saw a gazebo standing there. It hadn't been there before.

"Toxic and Butcher built that for you for today," Gwen whispered with a happy smile at the look on my face.

There were flowers and vines twining in and out of the slats and wood and the entire thing looked like a fairytale.

I had to dab at my eyes to keep my mascara from running as I sniffed back tears.

The women hurried forward to take their kids from Sylvia and go find their seats.

Priest and Idaho stood at the gazebo, waiting for me.

Jecht was sitting next to Idaho, while Auron remained on my side of the gazebo, waiting for me.

Someone cleared their throat and I turned to find Lockout standing there in a suit. He looked so much like Idaho it made me smile. "I was hoping you wouldn't mind me standing in for your father."

My mouth dropped open. It was such a kind gesture. "I would love that," I told him. Linking my arm through his, I waited as soft music began to play. How had they pulled this off in such a short time? Everything was so beautiful and perfect.

I laughed softly as I saw Cynic and Torque sitting on the bride's side of the aisle. I waved at them, then linked my arm through Lockout's once more.

"We like you better than him," Cynic whispered as I walked by.

Lockout chuckled. "Pretty sure everyone likes you better than my brother. Even me," he admitted, a warm smile on his face.

"You've all made me feel so welcome," I said softly. "Thank you."

"This is your home now, Eva. We're your family."

There was no holding back the tears after hearing that. They dripped down my cheeks, but I didn't care. Idaho frowned at me, then Lockout when I was handed over to him.

Lockout shrugged. "You can't blame her for crying when she has to marry you."

The crowd burst into laughter. Idaho shook his head and turned back to me with a smile. He wiped away my tears with his thumbs before Priest cleared his throat and began the ceremony.

I barely heard what he was saying as I stared up into Idaho's hazel eyes.

They were so warm and full of love for me.

I felt like the luckiest woman in the world right then.

The man I loved was going to make me his today and I couldn't wait.

It was like a dream come true. Later, I would probably wish that I'd paid more attention, but I managed to say the right words, and melted when Idaho gave his vows to me.

There wasn't one thing missing from this day. As much as I loved my family back home, this was the family I was choosing. And it felt right. So very right.

"You may now kiss the bride," Priest said with a chuckle.

Idaho pulled me close, his lips descending on mine. I kissed him back with all the love I had for him. When we finally parted, everyone cheered. We walked down the aisle together, then went inside so we could have our first dance as husband and wife.

I laughed as he spun me around the room, then held me close as a slower song came on and we swayed together.

"Can I cut in?"

"Fuck no. Go away, Toxic," Idaho said, shoving the other man away.

Toxic chuckled and gave me an innocent look. "You'll save a dance for me though, your next husband. Right? "

"Of course," I told him, laughing.

"Fucking asshole," Idaho muttered, glaring until Toxic put his hands up and moved away. Then my new husband focused back on me. "You're mine now." He nuzzled against my neck and I shivered. "And I can't wait to get you alone tonight."

I thought back and tried to find a time in my life when I was so happy. I couldn't because there was no Idaho before now. No family. No love. Just sadness and loneliness. Now I had everything I'd ever wanted.

I lifted up onto my toes and kissed him again.

"I love you, Levi." He'd made today perfect for me.

I didn't even care that I hadn't made one decision on my wedding day.

In fact, this was the way every woman should get married.

Just show up and enjoy themselves. It was so freeing.

It didn't escape my notice that the wedding and this party had all of my favorite things.

I was sure that both Thomas and my sisters had a hand in that.

There was no need to ask if they'd helped give ideas on what I might like. I knew it.

He groaned softly. "You're going to make it hard to focus on the rest of this party."

"Too bad," I whispered against his lips. "'Cause I want some cake."

He grumbled but was a good sport about staying down and celebrating with our friends.

There were a lot of extra men here. I recognized them from the ball and Idaho mentioned that they were from The Berserker's Rage MC, the same MC that Cynic and Torque were in.

I smiled at each of them, but Idaho pretty much kept me close all night. It wasn't like I minded.

"Say the word and we'll get out of here," Idaho told me. He'd been tormenting me all night with promises of what he was going to do to me once we were alone.

"Fine," I said with a little pout. "We can-" My squeal cut off my words as Idaho bent down and tossed me over his shoulder.

Gasping, my hands went to the top of my dress to make sure my breasts stayed in place.

The double sided tape we'd used to hold the fabric to my flesh did its job, somehow. "Idaho!"

Everyone laughed as he swatted my ass and it reminded me of the first night he'd brought me home. I couldn't contain the happy smile as my husband hauled me off to bed.
