Chapter 11 The Palace

*chirping birds*

*Rattling wheels of carriage*

I turn my head and face my brother, who's asking me an obvious question. Of course I am nervous; this is my first time attending a prestigious meeting.

My brother is wearing his emerald green uniform, which showcases his authority as the commander of the elite knights in the kingdom and is a symbol of the earth element of the House Mullens.

To match his outfit, I wore my Georgian-style light green-gold dress.

As usual, I make it look simple and elegant by wearing light make-up and a few emerald jewelry pieces.

I let my wavy blonde hair down and wore my emerald headdress in a tiara-like style, a family heirloom—the symbolism of the Earth Stone.

"*light chuckles* Don't worry, you look gorgeous today. Well, you are the lady of the house, Mullens. Be proud of that title, my dear sister." He replied, smiling like a proud brother.

I heard that His Majesty the King is someone you can't mess up with.

In the novel, there is no detailed description of the king; however, living in this world, I am able to receive and hear news about his power as the king of this kingdom.

He is not an easy man; he is cunning and of a suspicious character.

This is simply because I found out that there is a crown prince, I never heard that there was a prince in the novel; it was never mentioned, but Ollie said that the crown prince was raised overseas.

It's suspicious, isn't it? There is so much more about this world that I didn't know; the original Estelle was right. I can't predict the future right now since I am already writing my own story. Everything changed, and I need to be extra careful of what I do and say in the future.

*Carriage stops* *sound of horses*

As I stepped out of the carriage, the cold breeze in the air welcomed me. My eyes flutter as I look at the majestic palace of Chrolexia. I've never been invited into the palace before, and this will be my first time entering this place.

Come on, Estelle, compose yourself! Look at them; the nobles are looking in our direction, curious about how I look.

OMG, the male lead! The future duke and the person I've met at the capital.

My eyes widened when I recognized his face. I quickly calmed myself and looked in a different direction, hoping that he wouldn't recognize me.

He looks amazed, "I see, what a beautiful name! The name is Clyde Ramsbury, the heir of the House Ramsbury." "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, my lady." He held my hand and kissed it, and he is still holding it.

Why is he looking at me like this? It feels weird. I didn't offend him, right? Um... you can let go of my hand now, sir? Why is he still holding my hand?

I was about to say something when someone interrupted and grabbed Clyde's hand. He quickly let go of my hand and saw Vladimir holding his hand with force.

*thunder*

I looked up to the sky, wondering if it was Vladimir's magic or not.

Is he upset? What is it now?

Vladimir dropped Clyde's hand, then moved swiftly in my direction and led me inside the palace while leaving Clyde behind. My brother did nothing but turn away his gaze. Then, when I looked back, I noticed Clyde's expression. He was clutching his red hand while smirking. That must be painful!

I heard my brother scoff as Vladimir added, "No, he's flirting with you."

My brother was hurt when I hit him with my elbow, but I still gave him my furious glare. "You can't be serious, Vladimir." "The terms "flirting" and "introducing" are spelled and defined differently." I explained.

I halt and turn to face him. What now, b*tch?

He approaches closer to mine and says, "I don't know what 'lol' means, but I trust you." He held my right hand and kissed it, saying, "Even if you betray me a hundred times, I will always trust you."

My lips twitch, Vladimir. What are you doing? Damn it, this is what you call flirting! My eyes were blinking uncontrollably looking at the surroundings, where people might have misunderstood his actions.

He put my palm on his flushed cheek as I stared at him. He was smirking, feeling my palm's warmth. I turned to look at my brother, who was simply smiling. Don't tell me he's supporting Vladimir.

We both looked forward when we heard a woman's sweet voice. "Vladimir de Russ, the Tower Master, I'm so glad you could make it." The princess said she was not hiding her adoration.

It's the princess of the kingdom. Princess Althea Montgomery is the only daughter of His Majesty the King. "We greet Chrolexia's Jewel, Princess Althea Montgomery." We both said it in chorus.

The princess approaches Vladimir after the greeting. She clung to him and smiled. She is so confident, it astounded me. Are the two really that close for her to behave that way?

I watched her as my brows creased. What the hell is going on with her? She's too touchy, not the original female lead style?

Vladimir's expression suggests that he is accustomed to it. Then, the princess drags him away from us. I look at my brother with a look like, 'What was that?' and he just shrugs. A knight approached my brother, and he gave me a signal to excuse himself for a moment, and I nodded as a response.

Anyway, have I missed anything? Was their intimacy mentioned in the novel? Everything is a mess, especially the female lead's role, which is weird.

I overthought it and then recognized a voice. He smirked and said, "We meet again, my lovely lady." He winks. "Looks like you need an escort."

He wears a black coat and a black knight's uniform as he advances in my direction, striding with authority and a mischievous smile. His short, unruly sideburn haircut is breathtaking, and his enigmatic eyes seem to be telling me to only look in his direction.

It's him!

He smiled at me and said, "My lady, let me formally introduce myself." "My name is Damien von Caster, a humble businessman." He kissed my right palm and faced me again with a soft smile.

My eyes widened after hearing his name: "von Caster? Oh, holy cow! You're the young billionaire of the House Caster!" I was surprised.

The house of Caster is known for being independent and rich.

Even though they don't have the power of the stones, they were able to have power and wealth.

The nobles said that they are known for being unsociable because they don't attend balls or any other occasions in the kingdom.

They don't like the attention or crowd. That's why they are very mysterious, and people see that as a bad thing.

For now, I only knew Damien; about his parents, I'm not sure.

He gave me a look that was difficult to understand. I don't know the meaning of it, but it looked like he remembered something. "Of course, you're the most beautiful woman in this world; how can I miss that?" He reached for my hair and withdrew.

I heard that in this world, people call their close friends or lovers by their first names; this applies to men and women only.

My brother stared at Damien while smiling, while Damien smirked and excused himself from the room, leaving my brother and me speechless.
