Chapter 30 The Contract
"It's been a decade; I've missed you," the man replied, facing her and abruptly stepping forward to close the gap.
The Queen backs off and faces away from Luvien, trying to appear brave as she adds, "Quickly say your terms; I don't have the luxury to listen to your bullshits."
Luvien looked amazed. "Oh, your temperament changed, exhilarating!"
The Queen rolled her eyes, annoyed at Luvien, who added, "My lady, you talk about terms; there are no terms."
He raised his right wrist level with her face, signaling time: "Tick, tock. Your time is up."
He smirks and holds the queen's wrist, bringing her closer to him and giving her a stern expression. "Are you denying the fact that your time is up? Or you just don't know how to count."
Luvien choked the Queen because he was unsatisfied with her behavior. He muttered in her ear, "Do you fear death?"
The queen couldn't breathe but was still attempting to get away from his grasp. "Please, give me 3 days. I need my revenge."
Larkien Village
*bell clanging in the distance*
The moon shines stronger on this winter night, and it is as cold as ever, causing shivers and frostbite among the poor inhabitants in the kingdom's north. A young girl in the palace ventured outdoors to explore the gloomy side of the north, where people lie on the street even in the winter.
[Larkien Village is found in the northside near the palace, a cold and gloomy place where people are being abandoned and poor.]
As she walked by, she heard people murmuring, sobbing, and shaking.
She reasoned to herself that this kingdom conceals a horrible truth on the northside, where people who lack riches and valuable commodities are treated like vermin and trash.
She tightened her teeth and formed a fist.
She is living a falsehood and worse than hell by believing that her life is the same.
She approached an old abandoned cemetery where sinners are buried, and people avoid it due to the tremendous resentment of the spirits, which are prowling and powerful enough to kill a regular, weak person.
*eerie surrounding*
*unknown whispers*
As she walked onward, she noticed a large statue of Luvien, the fallen god of Ghradeus, also known as the God of Revenge. She approaches the statue with curiosity in her eyes.
*ground, lightly shaken*
Suddenly, she noticed that the wind had stopped and the surroundings had gone completely still; all she could hear was her breathing and heartbeat.
*yawns*
*gasps*
She gasped when she heard someone yawn behind her. Her heart is racing, and fear is obvious on her face.
When she turned her back to face the mystery man who spoke, she was taken aback—it was the statue! It is alive!
"I am indeed. Tell me, child, what do you wish for?"
"*evil laugh* Oh dear, a mistake? No wishes? Then... how come a child like you stepped foot in this God-forsaken land where even the strongest knight wouldn't dare to step into?"
*sniffs*
*chanting*
"Give me your hand. *chants* Ego, Luvien, huic dominae conformabo voluntatem, et post decennium animam eius in solutionem colligo." He grabbed a dagger out of nowhere and sliced her palm, and blood shed slowly.
*evil laugh slowly fading as the Luvien disappeared*
She gulps as she replied, "Yes."
Luvien vanish and so she fell on the floor as her knees weakened because of fear.
The Queen stared blankly, as if her existence had ended, and said, "Victor, I don't own anything. My soul was never mine; I'm just a ghost now."
