Chapter 34 #3

Ciaran leans down and captures my mouth, his kiss stealing whatever breath I have left.

“Mine.”

His lips find my mouth, my jaw, my throat, never lingering anywhere for long before returning to kiss me again. He consumes every thought until all I can see are dark eyes, black lashes, and the man who has somehow become my whole world.

“I mentally rearranged my entire life around you while you were gone. You think I'm letting you out of this house? You belong exactly where I put you. My stunning, stubborn musician.”

My hips roll back against his, seeking his rhythm as he rocks against mine. I love the way he pins my wrists against the mattress above my head, careful not to touch the bandages.

“That’s because you're such an asshole sometimes,” I gasp out, my eyes flashing up at him through the blur of my tears. “Everyone out there... everyone is terrified of you.”

“Maybe,” he rumbles, but that smug chuckle shows his pride. Yes, my Zoryan likes to do his name honor.

His thrusts become more urgent, and he splays a hand on my throat, squeezing until my breath cuts short and my head lolls back and the only thing left is Ciaran and his cock, plunging into me, bringing me pleasure I’ve never felt before.

“And how’s my little mouse now? Do you like being caught by your predator?”

I catch the ripple of his tattoo, teeth glinting maliciously as he drops his forehead against mine.

There is only Ciaran, his forehead against mine, his hips driving into me until I'm gasping for air, so close to cumming I can barely think.

I bite his shoulder and hear him laugh. Then finally, oh finally, he lets go of my throat. I gasp in the air with desperation, the ghost of his fingers on my skin enough to remind me that he’s in control.

He wants the control.

I want him to have it.

“Ouch,” I cry when his teeth sink in my flesh.

“What?” He looks up, feigning innocence. “You bite me. I bite you back.”

“But you draw blood, you idiot.” I slap his back, then moan when his cock hits my prostate again.

“It’s to mark you, baby. Hmm—” We trade rough, biting kisses, leaving dark hickeys along each other's necks in the shadows now.

If he can do it, so can I.

“I fucking love marking you.” He looks up from his work, pupils blown, mouth open. “Say it, mouse.”

I don’t know how I know what he wants to hear. I just do. “Yours,” I sob, the word torn from my chest as his thumb presses against my windpipe, heightening the dizzying spike of pleasure.

“Yours, Ciaran.”

“My stunning musician. My mouse. My future. Fucking mine.”

Reaching down between our bodies, his large hand wraps around my weeping cock. “Even your cock is a perfect match to my palm.”

He releases my wrists, slides his arms beneath my shoulders, and pulls me upright into a careful embrace, burying his face in my neck while his rhythm doesn't break.

“Zoryan—” I choke out, my hips rolling up to meet him blindly. My hands fly up, the clean gauze on my right palm scratching against the column of his neck as I cling to him. “I’m going to cum.”

That’s the only warning both of us get, before the world splinters on a loud moan. Then I’m spilling all over his hand, my body convulsing in waves as cum paints our tangled abs in a wet streak.

A second later, Ciaran roars against my neck, goosebumps erupt across my skin when he drives into me one last time before spilling deep inside me.

“Fuck, baby, so fucking good.” He leans down, his mouth catching mine in a hard, bruising kiss that tastes of salt and copper, swallowing every broken sound as his body shudders out the last of his release.

The medical bands blare between us, flashing red against the dark headboard before settling as our heart rates slow.

Finally, he releases my throat and collapses over me, refusing to untangle our limbs while his lips brush my jaw.

“You are my answer, Rowan,” he rasps against my ear. “And I will burn every stage you ever stand on before I let anyone else look at you like this. My stunning, perfect musician. Mine. No getting rid of me now.”

Something in him finally unclenches. He rolls onto the mattress, his hand reaching for me, pulling me against his side. He hooks a muscled leg over mine before reaching down to drag the green velvet sheets over us.

I burrow closer, pressing my face into the curve of his neck and breathing him in. Beneath the lingering punch of the whiskey, his heat is absolute.

Mine.

The realization settles somewhere deep in my chest. I inhale again, greedily, knowing I could spend the rest of my life right here and still never get enough of him.

“You’re ridiculous, you know that?” I murmur, my voice slurring into the dark.

“Possessive,” Ciaran corrects. “I told you.”

“Same thing.”

A chuckle rumbles through his chest. He pulls me closer, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Go to sleep, mouse.”

And yeah, I think I will. I’m so tired I can’t think anymore. I breathe out slowly and smile as my eyelids grow too heavy to keep open. The last thing I feel is his arm tightening around my waist and the steady beat of his heart beneath my ear.

Home, I think, and for once the word feels simple.
