Epilogue
GRACE
I sit on the porch, swaying in my rocking chair and listening to the birds sing high above in the cypress trees. We’ve been in our secret hideout for the past six months, and things have been blissfully uneventful. I’m… happy.
I write to Saffron often so we can keep in touch, and she’s even driven out a few times to visit.
Apparently, she and Dr. Herrera are going steady, and she thinks he might be the one.
From the stories she’s shared, I really like him for her.
I think they will be good together, and Saffron will get the happy ending she deserves.
Viktor has been coming around a lot and has become an uncle figure to me. He’s always bringing over supplies, sharing stories from his days in the old Sanctum, and helping with anything we might need.
But the biggest favor he’s done for us is to keep our hideout secret from the Sanctum.
While everyone believes Seven is dead, if they ever found out the truth, they would lock him up for good—or worse.
Eventually, they’ll forget about him, and we can come out of hiding.
But honestly, it’s been so peaceful living out here with Seven, I might never want to go back.
I thought I would miss my job at LoveBytten, but now that I’ve been away for some time, I realize how soul-sucking it had been.
My life had come to revolve around work, spreadsheets and arbitrary numbers on a computer.
Out here, with Seven, I have something real.
Something that’s worth everything to me.
While things are different now, they’re better than they ever have been—and I wouldn't have it any other way.
A warm hand covers my belly, and I open my eyes, smiling as Seven’s handsome face comes into view.
“Hey” I pat the chair beside me. “Join me?”
With a smile, Seven picks me up out of my chair, settling down with me in his lap. His arms wrap around me, and his hand lands on my rounded stomach.
“The little one giving you any trouble?”
“No more than usual.” I grin, placing my hand on top of Seven’s, loving the heated sparks that trail across my skin. “I think they’re hungry, though.”
“Hmm. So am I,” he says, nipping at the shell of my ear. “How about you go lie in bed while I make you some breakfast. When you’re full, I can have a feast of my own.” His words send a shiver of pleasure down my spine.
“That sounds amazing, actually.” I lean deeper into his hold. “But first, I’ve been meaning to tell you something all morning. Something important.”
For a split second, his face pinches with fear, but the loving smile on my lips seems to soothe his worries. “What is it, angel?”
“I wanted to tell you that I love you.” I turn to press my lips to his jaw. “That I love you, and I’m so happy I decided to stay.”
“God, I love you.” Seven places a kiss on my cheek, hugging me tight against him. “Fuck, do I love you. It’s endless. Infinite.” He rubs his hand over my stomach. “And I love the little human we’ve made together. I love you both so much, I’m worried it’ll kill me.”
I laugh, holding his hand to my stomach. “We love you too, daddy. So, so much.”
He groans, pressing his forehead to my shoulder, his cock pulsing, growing. “Fuck. You know what that does to me.”
“Really?” I turn my head to give him a seductive grin. “Why don’t you show me?”
And he does.
