Semi Conclusion

Lucinda stared at him as she didn’t know what to think but then she slowly nodded her head. She allowed Storm to take her hand and lead her away.

He walked her down the hall and they turned left at the end of the hall. Halfway down the row of doors, he stopped at one door. Opening it, he stepped inside.

She followed him in and looked around the room curiously. “Whoa. It’s so... lovely. I have never been in such luxury before.”

Storm smiled. “Same here. It’s mind-blowing. I’ve been in soldier’s quarters then tents in the field. Trailers and even motel rooms. But nothing like this place.”

The room was huge with a queen-size bed, a large dresser with an equally large mirror.

Looking over she saw another door. The closet was bigger than any she’d ever seen before.

She walked around the room for a moment then she went to the other door.

It was a bathroom, complete with a shower and a tub and toilet.

The sink took up the entire other side with cabinets filling the room.

Then she noticed another door midway between the tub and the shower and she turned to Storm.

He shrugged and said, “It’s a shared bathroom.”

“And just who am I sharing with?” she asked.

Storm smiled and a twinkle sparkled in his eyes. “Me.”

Lucinda hid her smile as she went back to the bedroom. She walked over to the bed and sat down. The mattress was firm and she groaned as she laid down. “Muy bueno. Orale!”

“Have fun.” Storm headed to the door.

Finally, she spoke up, “I thought you were told to keep an eye on me.”

Storm froze at the door and turned to look back at her. “Yeah, I was... so?”

Lucinda smiled and whispered, “Bein, you can’t watch me if you leave me alone.”

Strom paused then he saw something in her eyes. He turned all the way around to face her. Crossing his arms over his huge chest, he replied, “Let me get this straight. You want me to stay?”

Lucinda stared at him as a smile crossed her lips. “I think I do, si. I mean I am not used to... being around a man, really. But this is just for a nap. Then we will have to get going again. So yes, I want you to stay.”

He stepped back in. “I’m not sure you—”

The door suddenly swung back open.

Storm had his gun out and pointed it at the intruder.

Frost looked spooked as he raised his hands. “Nah man, don’t fucking shoot me!”

Storm shook his head and shoved his weapon back into his waistband. “Didn’t your mama teach you to knock first?”

Frost shook his head as he looked upset.

Storm felt dread spread through his body as he knew Frost well and his expression told him that something was really wrong. He stepped closer and asked, “What happened?”

“I-it,” Frost stammered as his eyes looked huge in his face.

“Damn it, man!” Storm grabbed him. “What the fuck is it?”

“Mr. Leon just got a call from Calderone...”

“Yes? And?”

Frost shook his head and muttered, “The safehouse is gone.”

“What?” Storm felt confused. “How can it be gone?”

“It is nothing but rubble, man. Something exploded? Or someone dropped a bomb on it?”

Storm staggered back in total shock. “The fuck?”

Lucinda gasped and raised her hands to cover her mouth.

Frost slowly nodded his head and whispered, “Leon’s family...”
