Chapter Nine
Bane hoisted Silva over his shoulder and calmly walked away.
The big man at the church doors was Frost. He followed and helped Bane get the unconscious man into the SUV.
A short time later, Orrin drove them through Leon’s front gate.
When the front door opened, Leon and Storm stood there.
Again, Bane tossed Silva over his shoulder and walked up the steps with Silva cursing him out. Bane dumped Silva in front of Leon.
Tornado then grabbed Silva’s hands behind his back to zip tie him, so he couldn’t move.
Silva glared at Leon then he saw someone standing behind him. His eyes narrowed and he sneered at the slight figure. “I should have known it was you.” Silva growled. “You’ve been a curse to this family from the day you were born.”
Lucinda stared at her cousin with nothing but contempt in her eyes. “I didn’t curse this family. The man who fathered me and his brothers did that all on their own. The day Joaquin died was the day your family was cursed.”
“We should have ended you a long time ago!” Silva screamed at her.
Lucinda shook her head. “ You beat on little girls cuz you were all cowards back then and you’re even bigger cowards now.
The only one of you that crossed that line is Ortega and right now he’s running scared.
You all played the hunting game well enough as children but now someone bigger and badder than you is playing your own game against you.
Now you, Ortega and Jose will feel the fear as you try and outrun people who know your every move.
” She smiled. “They caught you and they will catch the others too.”
Silva snarled. “Not fucking likely, puta. We have more people here than just three.”
Lucinda stared at him for a long minute then she said, “Ay dios mio, didn’t you hear? The rest of the family got caught up in an explosion this morning.” She paused to make the holy cross over herself. Then she added, “Let’s just say they didn’t make it and leave it at that.”
Silva looked stunned. He tried to speak but no words came out of his mouth. Then he shouted, “You liar! You are fucking lying to save yourself. They aren’t dead and they will search this entire city to find us.”
Orrin reached for his phone and brought up a photo, he turned it toward Silva, showing him the bombed area.
Silva stared at it with round eyes and an ashen colored face. He shook his head as he couldn’t deny it. He saw the lineup of bodies on the ground and the sheets covering them. Finally, he looked up and his gaze met Lucinda’s. “You are dead, puta. I will kill you with my bare hands.”
Storm moved forward and stepped up, getting into his face. “You are done being in charge, asswipe.” He took his jackknife from his pocket and flicked it open.
Silva stared at him and said, “So you are gonna murder me? While I am tied up? Ay, diablo oscuro...you are the coward, not me.”
Storm reached around him and cut his zip ties from his wrists.
Silva was free now as he looked perplexed at being set free as he shook his kinked up hands out.
Storm smirked and put his knife away. “Let’s dance, motherfucker.” He raised both fists.
The room went quiet.
Lucinda gasped and looked over at Leon.
He shrugged and stepped back to watch.
In fact, Bane and Orrin did the same.
Swinging her head back over, Lucinda told Storm, “Don’t do this. He is not worth it.”
“No, he isn’t,” Storm replied. “But you are.”
Silva looked back and forth at them. “Ay, si. You are a whore just like your mother!” he told Lucinda. “You sleep with him and then think you are better than—-”
Storm's very large fist came out and punched the spit right from his mouth.
Silva’s body went flying back.
Frost caught Silva as he snickered. He stood him up and pushed him back toward Storm.
The big man hit him in the belly this time. “Come on you sack of shit! Fight me.”
Silva looked like he was gonna puke as he bent over while holding his stomach. Wheezing, he couldn’t seem to catch his breath.
Lightning and Frost laughed.
“What a fuckin’ baby!” Tornado exclaimed as he laughed too.
“Right? Is this the ferocious Gondo cartel member?” Lightning taunted him. “Or is it Baby Gondo? Crying.”
Frost then added, “Aww, does Baby Gondo need his binky?”
Storm’s men all laughed as they rubbed it in.
Silva groaned then collapsed to the ground in a useless heap.
“Well, damn, that was anticlimactic as all fuck,” Storm grumbled.
“Yeah, you would think he could fight by the way he talks so much shit,” Tornado agreed.
“Some men are just all jackass,” Bane spoke up. “No spine, no dick. Just ass.”
The big men all looked over at him.
“Well, dayum!” Frost exclaimed as he laughed.
Storm agreed, “Never heard it put like that but yep. That is what we have here.”
Tornado shook his head. “Pretty sad, isn’t it? A dickless, spineless jackass with a glass jaw.”
Leon laughed loudly now then he said, “Just tie Mr. Dickless up again and toss him into a cell in the basement.”
Frost did that very thing then he and Tornado dragged him away unconscious.
Storm turned, grabbed Lucinda up and wrapped her tightly to him. “No one will ever hurt you again, sweet Lucinda. Never. Again.”
“Bravo!” Leon clapped his hands. “Now, for the rest of them. And I think we should have each of your team...” He grinned at Storm. “Teach all of them this same lesson. It does my heart good. To see them get what they deserve.”
“Si!”
They all turned.
Poppy stood there, smiling. He looked up at Storm and added, “Muy bueno! I haven’t felt that good since I was a young man. That beating had been a long time coming.” He then nodded at Lucinda. “You have a good man there, Pequena Lucía.”
Storm paused and said, “Little Lucy? Damn, that is cute.”
Lucinda covered her pink face with her hands.
The men all laughed as it was too cute.
Leon grinned as he finally could see the light of day in all of this. His phone buzzed and he took it out of his pocket. Reading the text, he raised his head. “John wants us in the security room.” He turned and headed away.
They all crowded into the security room.
John sighed and motioned to the screen.
“What are we looking at?” Leon asked him.
“It is one of my many cams. This one is a few miles out at a rest area.”
Lucinda moved up and nudged at Storm.
He moved aside to allow her to see what they were looking at.
It was sort of a caravan. Some SUVs and some vans. Then a whole mess of motorcycles. They all parked.
A man strode along the walk and stepped up to the many men who all gathered in the lot.
Lucinda gasped.
The men in the room all looked up at her.
“Who is it?” Leon asked her.
“I-it’s Pinto.” Her face had gone ashen.
“Nah, he died in that explosion,” Storm replied.
“He must have gotten out in time?” John stated.
“And he brought the Anime Morte MC with him,” Lucinda said. “How did he get the money to hire them?”
Storm looked over at her. “The Dead Souls MC?”
“The fuck?” Frost exclaimed. “Those guys are killers for hire, man.”
“Then he has about thirty men there too,” Tornado added.
Leon shook his head in disgust. This war was far from over. He turned his head and told John, “Call Calderone and let him know the family cannot come home yet. We will be under severe attack here.” Then he cursed a blue streak in Italian, “Di tutti i fottuti figli di puttana!”
