The Vincintis #13
Vincinti Stories
“My name is Ria Conchez, my brothers and I are cousins to Paulo Gondo.”
Leon clenched his hands into fists and he growled, “Just how many of you Gondos are there?”
Ria shrugged. “If you took out the main Gordo men and the twenty-five soldiers they brought with them then you got them all. But my brothers are also here although we arrived too late for them to join the main bunch. My brothers are looking all over town to find them.”
“Who left you in this state and why?” Storm wanted to know.
Ria looked down at the sheet covering her and said, “I tried to run away. They were going to kill my friend. They said that Paula’s sons ordered this.
My brothers, Ricco and Benzo. I tried to tell them they couldn’t do this but they bragged that this would be their way in.
You see, we are what most people would call the poor relations.
My father was a farmer in southern California, he loved the land and he hated what the Gondos stood for.
But after he died, my brothers saw the cousins and they dreamed of having the money like they always seemed to have, they also wanted the power that went along with being a member of the cartel.
And didn’t think about what they would have to do to obtain that. ”
“So like their cousins, they will try to come here for that power and glory, knowing they have to kill me to get it?” Leon asked her.
Ria nodded. “I think that’s exactly what they will do.”
Frost leaned closer and asked her, “So that’s why they came here? They want to get into the cartel ranks?”
Ria nodded. “They were farmers and mechanics but all that changed when our parents died. My father was killed in an accident while building a new barn. He tripped and fell onto a rotary saw table. He bled to death before anyone found him. A few days after he died, my mother got hit by a car in town when she went to make funeral arrangements. The car had no plates and the police never solved it. So, she died too. I was in shock for a long time after losing them so close together. But I noticed that my brothers didn’t feel badly at all.
They were suddenly free, running the streets and getting into trouble within weeks of losing our parents.
They sold the farm and we moved into town to a very small, old house.
I wondered where all the money went. Then they got the bright idea of joining our uncles in the cartel.
You see our mother was Paulo’s cousin so that gave them the idea that Paulo would just take them under his wing and train them to be cartel.
But Paulo wouldn’t even let them try. He said they didn’t know what they were doing and they weren’t right for the upper ranks.
So he only allowed them to work beside locals in processing the drugs.
It was rumored that Paulo had to come here to take over the Boston drug route.
Then my brothers followed them here and have been looking for them for two days now. ”
“And just what did you do to earn a beating this vicious?” Frost asked. “I mean they really hurt you.”
Ria looked at him and said, “I refused to be a part of it. They wanted to use me to kill someone and I refused.”
“Who were you supposed to help kill?” Storm asked.
“My friend, Lucy.” Tears filled her eyes.
“Paulo hates her and wants her dead. Back home, her and I were friends. We needed each other in such a cruel place. Our families are criminals... they are monsters.” She looked troubled as she went on, “They said she was a traitor. She left town just before the others did.”
After Lucinda and Ria are reunited...
Lucinda looked over at Leon. “Her brothers are as bad as mine were and they are nothing but a menace. They have been making her life miserable since their parents died.” She peeked at Ria and at her nod she turned to face Leon again.
“Back home, they worked independently for Trego selling the drugs his family produced. They were like factory workers really. It gave them just a peek at the power of the cartel but they wanted more. They wanted the money and the confidence from being in the cartel and they weren’t quiet about it either.
Then her brother Ricco tried the drugs they were packing and the fool got hooked on them.
Ricco is the oldest brother and when he couldn’t get the drugs he needed, he got mean.
Benzo took his lead from Ricco and they became just nasty-mean.
” She shook her head. “I’m not surprised at all that they followed the cartel here. ”
Ria scoffed. “They wanted to use me. They dragged me here against my will because I could help to get them in. To get to you, Lucy. For me to come here then lure you out. So, they could kill you, then Paulo would accept them. I ran away as soon as they told me this. Then when they caught me last night, I told them that they were loco, wanting me to betray and kill my only friend? I yelled it at them as I couldn’t fake it through like I usually do.
They beat me up and said if that did not work, they would just sell me to some old man.
Sell me for money to live on. They never worked back home, after our parents died.
And they had used up the farm sale money on drugs and women.
Paulo knew this too so he saw right through them.
Yeah, he let them pack drugs but he knew they were reckless and wild and he didn’t want them working for his cartel. ”
Leon shook his head. “Your brothers are idioti stronzos with no brains. They won’t last long here in my city. They might even cross the wrong man or woman and end up dead before my men can find them.”
Badass Women...
That afternoon..
Ricco Conchez stumbled toward the mansion.
Just then, Jelly Bean and Rebel stepped outside and both women held baseball bats in their hands.
Ricco stopped and stared at the women. He shook his head then closed his eyes and opened them again as if he wasn’t quite sure if they were real.
One was dressed in leather that looked sort of biker type. The other one was dressed in jeans and a short shirt.
John took out his phone and tapped a few buttons that turned the volume and security video sensors up. He stepped close to Leon. Now they could clearly hear the exchange between Ricco and the girls.
“Que Pasa? What the fuck are you two supposed to be?” Ricco shouted. “Does the big man protect his house with women and bats? I thought Leon Vincinti would have better security than this.”
Jelly Bean smiled. “Nah loser, we aren’t his security, we’re just his guests at the moment. I mean after all not everyone just jumps over his walls. Only someone who is retarded would do something as insane as that.”
Ricco scoffed. “I ain’t insane, chica. I’m on a mission.”
Rebel laughed. “Notice how he did not deny the retarded part?”
Jelly Bean laughed loudly to be annoying of course, everyone listening knew she never laughed like that.
“So you’re on a mission, eh?” Rebel snorted. “What kind of mission?”
“I’m here to kill Vincinti on behalf of the Gondo Cartel. I’m making my bones,” Ricco bragged.
Jelly Bean nodded. “Let me get this straight, Mr. Have-No Bones, you came over the man’s fence and are boldly walking up to his front door in broad fucking daylight to kill him? On behalf of a tiny dick-led cartel? Are you retarded and stupid too?”
Rebel chuckled. “Either that or he hasn’t heard what happened to this Dickless Cartel before he even got here.”
“What are you talking about?” Ricco growled.
“Well see, Mr. Wannabe-a-Retard, they had no dicks as far as anyone could tell,” Jelly Bean explained to him. “But no worries, Mr. Vincinti has already taken that pipsqueak cartel out.”
“No, he didn’t,” Ricco insisted. “They’re waiting to make their move. He couldn’t take them all out. Not even Vincinti is that powerful!”
Jelly Bean swung her bat around as if she was about to play softball and was testing her swing.
“Wow, are you wrong about that, dumbass. First, he took out Paulo and two of his sons, then twenty-five men. Some more came around and Leon’s soldiers took them down too.
Trego was wounded and rather than make his stand with his own father, he ran away.
He found his uncles and more of his uncle’s men.
Then welp...he miscalculated on his getting saved odds... He died with them.”
“I don’t believe you, bitch!” Ricco snarled.
Rebel shrugged like it was no big deal. “How long you been in town?”
“Three or four days,” Ricco told her.
“And you didn’t hear the big explosion the other night?” Jelly Bean wanted to know.
“What about it?” Ricco asked.
Jelly Bean raised her fist and opened her fingers wide as she exclaimed, “The cartel went boom! Twenty-three people died in that explosion, according to the cops. They were too burned to identify the bodies. Then Silva and Ortega blew up a Vincinti safe house. But Leon’s men picked them up pretty easily.
So right now, they are in a cell in Leon’s basement. ”
Rebel nodded and added, “I believe...” She paused to look down at her wrist that apparently had an imaginary watch. “Yes, they are scheduled for torture at 2 pm.”
Ricco couldn’t seem to connect the dots in his own mind. He shook his head and said, “You chicas are loco. Our cartel is smarter than that.”
“Smart? I think not...but that’s just your opinion, Mr. Crackhead. But we know what happened because we watched it all.” Rebel now swung her bat a couple times.
“No, no, sis,” Jelly Bean interjected. “We didn’t just watch. We took out a dozen Dickless Cartel members all by ourselves, remember?”
“Yes, yes I do. Most fun I’ve had since I last played Fallout. Love that game.”
Jelly Bean’s smile dropped from her face as she looked back over at Ricco and said, “So now you’re going to learn a little about how your sister felt when you took a bat to her.” Raising her bat, she swiftly swung it at Ricco.
The bat connected with Ricco’s shoulder and he screamed as the hit shattered his shoulder.
