Chapter Two

Leon glared at Julius in disgust. “You took my granddaughter from her home and threatened to hurt her. So that makes you as stupid as you look.”

Facing them, Julius swallowed hard. He licked his dry lips and shook his head. “We didn’t know who she was.”

“Did it really matter who she was?” Leon growled. “Is this the way you treat a woman?”

Julius shook his head. “Not normally but Orlan and Walter didn’t care. They gave the order to find them and bring them back. They each had their own agenda for them.”

“And you and the others, “Leon motioned toward the other two men in the next cells, “You have no mind of your own?”

John snorted and shook his head. “Naw, they are puppets that just do what they are told.”

Julius defended himself, “I don’t usually take orders for others but I knew Orlan before he went to prison. Then someone sprung him. He threatened my mother...So I had to do this job.”

“And if we check on this story, will we find it to be true?” John inquired.

Julius nodded. “I don’t even know where she is. I know you guys are mob but if you could have enough mercy to...Well, get someone at the precinct to go and see if she is alive?” Tears shone in his eyes.

“We shall see. What I need to know is what the plan was and who is behind it.”

Julius shrugged. “We don’t really know who is behind this mess. We were told all we had to do was create a disruption in two days and make it a big one. But Orlan and Walter had some things to do before then.”

Leon’s eyes narrowed and he curled his lip.

“Si, they did indeed, but you see they made one fatal error in their thinking. They dismissed my grandson and his club. They should have known better.” Leon smiled coldly and leaned toward the bars that separated him from the man in the cell.

“It was ironic as two very pissed off Sinners sent them to where they must have come from.”

The three men in the cells all stared back at him.

Julius swallowed hard and asked, “What does that mean?”

“The Sinners went looking for them. And they didn’t survive the meeting.”

One of the other men groaned and tried to sit up. He was covered in bruises and his clothes were torn. “You mean the MC killed them, don’t you?”

“Si, they are dead,” Leon admitted. “Iceman and Hawk showed them no mercy after what they did to Tula. It was bloody and absolute justice. Iceman told me Orlan pulled a knife on him. Which is just plain stupid. Iceman is great with a knife. In fact, he’s great with his fists. Have you ever seen him?”

John nodded as he said, “He’s bigger than I am.”

They all looked over at the 6 foot three two-hundred-pound security man.

Myron groaned. “Yes, we are all dead men, one way or another. It’s just too bad that the mob only cares about their own family.”

Leon glared at him and growled, “The fuck you say?”

John stared at him. “So, you have the same story as Julius?”

Myron slowly nodded his head. “They took my wife. If I didn’t do what this fucker Walter said, they would dump her body into the ocean.”

The third man sighed and added his story, “They have my daughter. I was a criminal, many years back but I remade my life. Then they forced me to do this.”

Leon turned to look at John.

He gave him a nod. “I will get their names and have it looked into. We will check it out.”

Leon looked back at the men. “For now, you can save yourselves a lot of pain by telling us what we want to know. I have a man on speed dial that could... how we say ‘extract’ the information from you. But you will scream and he will make cuts, then you will keep screaming as you lose all your extraneous body parts. It’s a whole deal. ” He shrugged.

John nodded. “So, if you lied about your family being hostages or hide something from us, you will die in a lot of pain and it will all be for nothing.”

Julius swallowed hard as he stared at the two men on the other side of the bars. “What do you want to know?”

Myron snapped his head up then glared at him. “Are you so willing to believe them?”

Julius nodded his head. “I think I trust him...A hell of a lot more than I trust those other guys. I may have lost my mom anyway, because those men are ruthless.”

“Si.” Leon nodded. “Those other men would have used you then killed your family and you when the deed they came here for was done.”

“So why don’t you boys tell us details that we can perhaps track. Like how they made contact and what exactly they wanted you to do,” John explained as he brought out his cell phone and texted Ballard. “Then my associate will be here in a bit to collect all the information on your loved ones.”

Myron slowly shook his head. “If you find that we were forced to do this. Are you gonna let us live?”

Leon started at him. “You will live yes, but you will need to do some kind of repentance. But right now, we can make this hard or harder, all depending on how cooperative you are. Every single one of you men captured two women who were very important to some very dangerous men as you have found. When or if we find that your loved ones were taken, we will attempt to get them returned. However, as you should already know... everything has a price gentlemen. I want to know what the men wanted you to do for them.”

“How do we know you won’t just walk away and then let our loved ones die?” Myron asked.

Leon shrugged. “You don’t know. But I will say that if Leon Vincinti gives his word, he keeps it.

And while there is no guarantee we can get to your family members in time, at least you will still be alive.

Or I could just find the information somewhere else.

I have a vast network. Then we kill you in the most painful way there is and bury your bones so deep no one else will ever know where you are. ”

Julius shook his head. “These are not the kind of people you can walk away from. They are not the kind of men you can hide from either.”

Leon smiled and shook his head. “You are mistaken about that because I am not going to hide from them. You took my granddaughter hostage yesterday, you were willing to harm her or worse, to end her life.”

“No, that was all Orlan’s little plan.” Julius sighed. “And I wasn’t there when they beat up that woman, Tula.”

Leon reached for his phone and brought up a picture then he walked closer to the bars of the cells. He held up the phone and showed them all the photo Iceman had sent him from the boat. “This gentlemen, is what Iceman did to Orlan.”

All three men leaned in to stare at the photo.

Julius and Myron turned pale.

Henry leaned over and puked on the floor. He looked up and shook his head. “Iceman didn’t have to do all that.”

Leon nodded. “Oh, but he did. He had to make a statement that anyone coming at him better not touch the ones he cares about.” Leon put his phone away and glared at Henry. “So this tells me that you are lying. If your daughter had been taken, you would understand why Orlan looks like he does now.”

The other two men looked over at Henry.

He shook his head. “I was in prison with them. I was dragged into it. Walter was my cellmate.”

“Hmm, interesting, but you already lied to me, and that I do not forgive. So make your peace with God, Henry. That is your name, right?”

The man lowered his head as he trembled. Apparently, he had nothing more to say.

“You see this is how it is,” Leon went on.

“Peaches is my blood, my granddaughter. You grabbed her and Tula, knocking them unconscious. You dared to break into the Sinners Compound to take them away from their husbands and their families. We didn’t know what had happened to them for several hours.

Those hours felt like years to us. We didn’t know if they were dead or alive.

” He turned his head and glared at Julius.

“You even followed her, didn’t you? What were you going to do to them? Take them back to be beaten or worse?”

“I did as I was told to do. I wanted to see my mom again. She is elderly and they could easily...” He shook his head.

“You were easily disarmed by my granddaughter when she came up behind you and hit you instead. She left you in that damn cave didn’t she? You made the mistake of underestimating her and now you’re here at my mercy.”

The men all looked afraid...very afraid.
