Blurb

Grace

I thought I knew exactly what twelve years of marriage meant. To me, it was Sunday dinners, shared routines, private jokes, and the certainty that no matter how complicated life became, Magnus was still the man who would choose me all over again.

Then I learned what he had been telling other people. He had told them he married too young, that marriage had cost him opportunities, and that his life might have been bigger if he had stayed single.

When someone asked whether he would still marry if the woman was me, Magnus answered with two devastating words.

Even Grace.

That was what made it so hard to understand.

Magnus had never hidden me or acted ashamed of me.

He had spent years holding my hand in public, praising my work, kissing me goodnight, and letting me believe our marriage was one of the best decisions he had ever made, while quietly telling other people it might have been the one he regretted most.

Now I was questioning everything I had sacrificed to help build our life together, and Magnus was being forced to confront the truth he had avoided for years. I had never held him back. He had blamed me for the opportunities he was too afraid to pursue himself.

If Magnus wanted his wife back, saying he loved me would never be enough.

He had to prove that when he told the story of our marriage again, he finally understood what I had really been worth.
