Bonjour, mes amis!

Welcome back to Paris, the City of Light, fashion, the tastiest Aperol spritzes, and the most decadent macarons. If I still had an appetite, I’d be salivating.

By now you must be exhausted, and you’re probably wondering about my sanity for having you fly to Paris for all of twenty-four hours. This part of the trip will shorten your tempers and test your patience. Please be kind to each other. You’re going to need one another when you deboard.

Scattering ashes in public places throughout France is illegal.

There’s a good chance my remains will be confiscated if your bags are inspected.

Do not let this happen! And don’t get caught scattering my ashes.

You could be fined, arrested, or sent to the guillotine.

(Just kidding about the guillotine part.) I’m counting on you not to let any of that happen.

Just a pinch or two of me, nothing too noticeable to get you in trouble.

And, yes, Holly, I really am asking you to do this.

As much as I would have loved to schedule a guided walking tour of the city to make up for what we missed on our first trip, when Anna took us on a slight detour from the group and got us lost, there isn’t time.

Though I think we got the better end of the deal when we made that wrong turn and wandered up Rue des Martyrs.

What a hidden gem with the cafés, fromageries, and chocolatiers!

We never did find that boutique Anna was after, but I consumed enough pastries and espressos to keep me content for years.

Once you get me through customs (fingers crossed), check into the hotel and make your way to Musée Rodin and out to the sculpture garden.

Enjoy the garden, pose for pictures (together, gals), especially with my favorite, The Thinker, and remember the fun we had.

Holly, hold onto your sense of humor because I have an extra ask.

I want you to post a picture of the two of you mugging with The Thinker on Instagram. Just like last time.

Once that’s done, find a secluded bench to read my next letter. Trust me, you’ll want the privacy. This one’s a doozy.

Don’t forget me. (Or let them confiscate me!)

xo,

Z.
