Chapter Nine

Atlas

I climb up the back porch rails and jimmy open the second story window I came in a few days ago and a million times before then.

The house is dark, and from this angle in the hallway, I can see my little bunny fast asleep, her long hair laid out on her pillow, her laptop open and glowing on the bed next to her.

It’s strange that I’m here. This is an invasion of privacy. I’m well aware that I shouldn’t have broken into the house to watch her sleep, but sitting on the front porch wasn’t working and walking away didn’t help me get my head straight.

Every second since I left, I’ve been thinking about how to get back again. I’ve been picturing the life we could have together, the family we could build, the world I could keep safe for her.

Fuck.

I step forward in the dark hallway and walk into her room, my body moving without permission as my cock begins to pulse.

She looks so fucking peaceful laying there.

So peaceful and so unbelievably attractive.

Her nipples poking through the thin fabric of her nightgown.

Her arm launched up over her head. Her legs tangled in the sheets as the scent of wildflowers surround her.

The house never smelled like this before. It’s new since she arrived.

Without thought, my hand is on her leg, moving up her thigh. She stirs, and for some reason, it gets me off knowing she seems aroused by my touch even in her sleep. Maybe that’s all in my head, but it’s the permission I need to keep heading north and soon my fingertips brush against her bare pussy.

Fuck. She isn’t wearing panties.

I’m tempted to slide inside, to wake her up with the thrust of my fingers inside of her, but she stirs and screams before I get the chance.

“Oh my God! What are you doing here? You are a psycho. Are you going to kill me?”

I shake my head and sit next to her on the bed, my hand still on her calf, brushing up slowly. “I’d never hurt you. I climbed through the back window because I couldn’t sleep without you, and I don’t know… my body just reacted when it saw you. I—”

“You’re insane!” She says the words as though she’s mad as hell, but she doesn’t move away from my touch. In fact, she might even have moved closer.

“Do you want to show me how mad you are that I broke in, little rabbit?”

Her body bends to my touch without thought as if it’s beckoning me. I wait a single breath for her to stop me before I’m angling my cock inside of her sopping little pussy like a wild animal, no longer able to hold back.

“Jesus,” I groan as I lean in against her neck, my teeth scraping her shoulder, my heart pounding as I drive in deeper and deeper. “You feel so good.”

“You’re so big it hurts!” She squirms and grips my arms tightly.

“Do you want me to stop?”

“No!” her eyes widen. “Go harder! I want it all. I want your balls slapping against my skin. I want your come dripping out of me.”

Goddamn. “That sweet little mouth is so fucking dirty.”

She pants and thrusts upward as though she’s desperate for more. “I need it right now! I need your come!”

“Good girl. Good fuckin’ girl, taking my cock like that. You like the way it hurts when I spread you, don’t you?”

“Make it hurt! Please!” She swallows hard, her tits bouncing up and down as I scrape my teeth against her shoulder, onto her neck, against her lips.

“Tell me you’re mine, little rabbit. Tell me you belong to me.” My chest is tighter than it’s ever been.

I’m so fucking close.

“I’m yours, Atlas. You’re crazy as fuck, but I’m always going to be yours.”

“Good!” I slam into her harder, gripping a fistful of her soft hair to tug as I work. “Good fuckin’ girl. I love you so goddamn much.” Pressure builds in my balls, and though I want her to come first, I know I’m seconds from erupting.

“Oh my God! I love you more, Atlas! Don’t stop… right there!” she screams out, her nails digging into my forearm as I thrust. “That spot! Oh my God, that spot!”

I’m not sure what I’m hitting, but she seems to love it, so I keep thrusting. “Come for me, honey. I need it. I need to feel that little pussy tighten, all warm and fuckin’ sticky on my dick. Can you do that for me? Can you cover my cock in your juices?”

Half a second later, her eyes squeeze closed, her mouth drops open, and she bucks up against me, her body convulsing, her tits swaying, every inch of her soft, full frame like a fucking song playing just for me.

It’s the last bit I need to send me over the edge.

“Fuck,” I growl low as I continue to pump into her, my eyes squeezed shut, my heart pounding, my balls drawn up and empty. “Jesus Christ, you felt amazing.”

“That was life altering.” She smiles and our lips find one another in a kiss, a soft sweet kiss that has me sliding down beside her and pulling her soft body against my chest, the sound of crickets singing outside.

I’ve never wanted to lay anywhere in my life. Usually, I’m the kind of guy who’s already thinking about what’s next on my list before I’ve finished the task I’m on, but right now, I’m content and I don’t ever want to move again.

“I’ve never heard crickets that loud before. Are they always like this?” she says, her breath warm on my chest.

“This time of the year, yeah. It’s peak mating season. That, and they’re getting closer to the houses for warmth before winter hits.”

Her chest rises and falls slowly. “You know everything about this place, huh?”

“Spent a lot of time here.” I draw circles as we talk, the pattern moving up and down the crook of her arm. “I always thought someday I’d come back here with kids of my own, but—”

“You wanted kids? I didn’t see you as the type.”

“In theory, yeah. I always thought I’d have a few to share all this with, but now I don’t know. Probably too old for all that.”

“You’re not too old.” She snuggles against my chest. “We could still try.”

“Yeah? You’d want more?”

“I always did, but,” she sighs, “you can imagine why that didn’t work out.”

I turn to the side and brush her hair back away from her face. “I don’t know what you’re doing to me, little rabbit, but you have me wanting things I’d long since given up on.”

A soft smile lifts her cheeks and her hand pushes through the hair on my chest. “I love you, Atlas. I know it’s quick, and weird, and I don’t know if you really meant it when we were—”

I lean into her lips and kiss her slowly. “I love you more, little rabbit. So fucking much, and I meant every word I said when I was inside of you. I’ll mean it ‘til the day I die.”

“I was having such a hard time taking down my walls, but laying here with you like this, no one’s ever really done this with me. Truthfully, I never really wanted to with anyone before.”

Leaning into her forehead, I hold a kiss against her skin. “You’re mine, and I’ll take care of you now. You’re safe with me, I promise.”

A heavy knock hits on the front door, interrupting the peace we’re building.

“What the heck?” Jen sits up and glances down at the camera alert on her phone. “It’s Reed. What the hell is he doing here? It’s past midnight.”

“I’ll go find out. You stay here.” I kiss her lips this time, hoping she listens.

I want to keep her in this bubble. This worry-free, cozy, little bubble where we exist only for each other.

Where I go out and battle the world, and she’s free to let her mind relax, but I have a feeling she’s going to fight that.

“No,” she stands from the bed, her hair still a wild mess from where I’d grabbed a bundle and tugged, “I should handle it. I swear I didn’t see him this much when we were married.

” She glances back down at the feed coming in from the camera.

“Of course he has Em with him this time.” Her gaze widens.

“Do you think Jackson is okay? They’d have called if Jackson—”

She stares at me a second longer, worry blooming on her face before she tears down the stairs a hundred miles an hour.
