Chapter 24
Chapter Twenty-Four
Ever have the feeling you’re about to cause a massacre?
Probably not. But then again, you’ve never been married to Aurora O’Malley.
The woman is literally on fire tonight. So much skin is exposed and it’s not going unnoticed.
She’s the most gorgeous human I’ve ever seen, even without the face full of makeup she’s currently wearing.
Every man in this pub is looking at her. My trigger finger is itching to blow their eyeballs out of their damn heads. I can’t blame them, though. She is a fucking head-turner.
“You good?” Patty asks me.
“Fucking fantastic,” I grunt.
“You look like you’re about to kill someone… I’ve seen that look before.” He points to my face.
“Everyone is staring at her,” I grit out. Aurora is oblivious to my distress right now. She’s busy talking to Aisling.
“Then you shouldn’t have married a fucking knockout.” Patty shrugs. “What did you expect? You’ve seen her, right?”
Tilting my head to the side, I glare at my best friend. “Are you checking out my wife, Patty?”
“No, I’m just not blind. Besides, I know underneath that ten is a psychopath. I don’t have a death wish like you,” he says.
My fists clench. I’m not going to punch my best friend. “Call her that again, I’ll cut your tongue out.”
“You wouldn’t have anyone to talk to if you did that.” The asshole laughs. “I’m the only one stupid enough to put up with your cranky ass.”
I feel Aurora shift away from my side. My fingers dig into the flesh of her hip, stopping her movements, and my head turns her way. “Where are you going?”
“To the restroom with Aisling.” Aurora looks at me. “Are you okay?”
“I’ll come with you,” I tell her.
“Connor, this whole watching me pee fetish you have has to stop. It’s not happening. I will be fine. It’s just there.” She points towards the sign for the restrooms.
“Okay. Be quick,” I grunt.
“Sure thing, boss,” she says, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
I nod my head at one of the soldiers standing nearby, and he follows the girls to the bathroom.
“You know you’re pouting. It’s really pathetic,” Patty tells me.
“Shut the fuck up,” I hiss at him.
“Fine, but you need to get a grip. You’re going to give yourself a heart attack at eighteen.”
“Did you set up the meeting for tomorrow?” The tips of my fingers rub at my temples. I feel a killer headache coming on.
“Yep. Ten in the morning.” Patty nods.
My knee bounces up and down. I don’t like her being away from me here. “I’ll be right back.”
“Sure you will.” Patty smirks.
The closer I get to the bathroom, the more my stomach sinks with that feeling that something is wrong. I let her down once. Please don’t let me fail again. Fucking hell…
I quicken my pace. I can feel the heat of my soldiers right behind me. I don’t turn around, though. Instead, I push through the door of the ladies’ room and stop. My mouth drops open, my eyes on my wife, scanning every inch of her.
She’s covered in blood. A knife hangs loosely from her hand and her chest rises and falls rapidly.
Stepping over not one, but two bodies, I reach out and cup her face. “Are you okay?”
She drops the knife and nods. “Aisling…” Aurora huffs.
I look to the side, and my gaze falls on my cousin. Her face red and her lip split open.
“What the fuck happened?” I ask, while holding Aurora close to my chest.
“They were in here. I didn’t see it coming,” Aisling says.
Two soldiers are standing in the doorway behind me. “Get my cousin out of here. Take her to the car before you let Levi see her,” I order them. “And call a cleanup crew. Make sure no one steps foot inside this room before they arrive.”
“Got it, boss.” My men nod and get to work.
I look to my cousin. “Aisling, go to the car. I’ll have a doc meet you at the house.”
“I’m fine,” she says.
“I know you are,” I reply.
She’s not, but I’m not stupid enough to tell her otherwise. I’ll leave that to her little shadow. Levi is gonna be pissed.
As soon as Aisling walks out, and Aurora and I are alone, I pick up my wife and settle her on top of the counter. My fingers wipe at the blood splatter on her face. “Wanna tell me what happened?”
“I walked in behind Aisling, saw her get grabbed and pushed into the wall. Then I… I don’t know. I’m sorry. I just acted on instinct,” she says.
“You don’t have anything to be sorry about, princess. Where did the knife come from?”
“I had a couple in my boots. I grabbed it, and I was about to help Aisling, but then this other fucker jumped out. I swung and the knife went through his chest. When he was too stunned to move, I jumped on him. And I kept stabbing until I was pulled off him. I head-butted this one.” Aurora points to the second guy.
“Then managed to swing around and slice his neck.”
“Auroa, you did the right thing.” I kiss the middle of her forehead.
“It’s happening again, Connor,” she whispers.
“What is?” I ask her.
“The numbness. I thought… After Kenny, I felt so much remorse I thought I was fixed. I even felt bad for your dad… for you. Now… I’m just numb again. What’s wrong with me?”
Her question fucking breaks my heart. “You want to feel something, princess? I can make you feel.” My hand moves to her leg, slowly traveling up her inner thigh. I want to give her time to stop me if this isn’t what she wants or needs.
“Make me feel something, Connor,” Aurora says.
My fingers slide under the seam of her panties, gliding through her folds. I push into her. Aurora tips her head back and her hips lift to meet my hand, giving them more access to her opening. I curl my fingers and rub against the spot inside her that I know drives her wild.
“Shit. Connor, don’t stop,” Aurora moans. Her hands wrap around my biceps, holding on to me.
“Not going to,” I say and slam my lips on to hers.
My tongue pushes in, swirling around. My fingers continue to thrust while the walls of her pussy cling to them like they’re offering her a lifeline, and I guess they are. She wants to feel. I’m going to make her feel so fucking good she forgets all about the lives she took.
Her wetness drips down my hand, as Aurora breaks away from the kiss. “I need more.” She reaches for my belt and undoes the straps. She then unbuttons my pants and frees my cock in record time. “I need this,” she says. “Please.”
“Whatever you want, princess.” I remove my hand from inside her and line the tip of my cock up with her entrance. Thrusting forward and bottoming out in one hard movement.
“Yes!” Aurora screams. “Harder!”
I follow her wishes and withdraw and then plunge into her harder. Over and over again. Her legs are wrapped tight around my waist, her arms around my neck.
“Thank you,” she moans as her pussy convulses around me, her orgasm causing her entire body to shake and spasm.
Pulling out, I fist my cock and jerk it two more times before I’m spilling my seed all over her thighs, mixing it with the blood that covers her skin.
“I really am sorry. I don’t want to cause any trouble for you, Connor,” Aurora says as she catches her breath.
I take some paper towels from the dispenser behind her, turn on the faucet, wet the pieces, and then wipe the blood from her face. Throwing them into the bin when I’m done before repeating the process.
“You haven’t. These assholes deserved what they got,” I tell her.
“Who are they?” Aurora asks.
“Good question.” I pick her up and place her back on her feet. When I’m sure Aurora is steady, I bend over and dig through the one guy’s pocket until I find his wallet. “Sam Brennan,” I say as I read the name off his ID.
Who the fuck is Sam Brennan? Then it hits me. Brennan. That’s the maiden name of Boyle’s wife. One of the fuckers who’s been hiding from me.
“These assholes are working for those men loyal to my father,” I explain. “You ready to go home?”
“More than ready.” Aurora takes hold of my hand.
I stop her at the door. My fingers cup her chin, tilting her face upwards. “You really do look fucking beautiful tonight.”
“Even covered in blood?”
“Especially covered in blood.” I smirk. There is nothing sexier to me than knowing my wife can protect herself when need be.
