Chapter Twenty
The next day, Freya wasn’t allowed to feel overwhelmed. It started when she woke up, sweating profusely, confused, and thirsty. The twins didn’t allow her to shy away, taking possession of her mouth, caressing her and generally trying to understand where her mind was and in what state.
They brought her a bottle of water and then they showered together.
They could tell she felt conscious of her scars, but they said nothing.
There was rage simmering inside them, but they pushed it down.
There would be time to unleash it, but now wasn’t it.
It had to be for her. Forever, for her. They washed her under the hot spray of water.
She moaned when Ciaran washed her hair, which led to Declan eating her out until she orgasmed again.
They were taking turns in revering her, her face red from both their lovemaking and the way they were making her body sing.
But in the back of her mind, she knew she was getting the better part of the deal.
They hadn’t finished, their cocks demanding full attention.
And never once did they mention the scars, or how ugly they found her.
She was beautiful, inside and out, and should could tell they wanted to prove it to her.
But duty called and Tanya was already bombarding their phones with messages. Grumbling, they began to prepare for the day, but Freya was still hesitant. They both noticed and sighed. She needed to learn to speak for herself instead of bottling everything up.
“Words, little one. We’ve already told you thousands of times, we’re not inside your head...”
“You didn’t... you...”
She was blushing furiously and they smirked.
“We’ll take care of it later. This was all for you.”
“But I thought... never mind...” she turned around, but Ciaran grabbed her arm and turned her back to face him.
“You thought ... what?”
“Words, little one,” sighed Declan for the tenth time that morning.
“That you wanted... that you needed...”
Ciaran kissed her forehead gently before saying, “We’re not raving teenagers, driven only by hormones. We’re adults and you’re fast becoming the most important person in our lives. So yes, we want to take it gently, at a slower pace, so that we can have you for the next decades.”
“Yes, but now we really have to go, or Tanya will serve our nuts as an appetizer.”
They left the house a bit later than usual, and Freya felt unusually shy when she complimented Tanya, asking herself if she could see in her face what she’d been doing.
But Tanya was impatient and other than a “it’s about bloody time!
” that served as a good morning to everyone, she didn’t say anything.
“Sheesh, cousin. Is it that time of the month again?”
“Put a cork in it, Ciaran. Only you blame my period for being mad at you for being late.”
“I’m never late!” he echoed the sound voice of Ian McKellen in The Lord of the Rings. “I’ve arrived precisely when I’m meant to.”
Tanya gave him the finger and Declan burst out laughing.
But once they arrived at the gym, they went into full teacher mode.
It was time for the twins to sweat out all that pent-up sexual energy. They went to the ring and beat the crap out of each other, even allowing their wolves to make an appearance.
If they had zero energy, they couldn’t turn and assume control.

Freya, on the other hand, felt lighter than she had in years. Her body was humming, and she was on cloud nine, ready to dive. For the first time ever, she didn’t just want to dip her toe in, she wanted everything.
Tanya wanted to start a self-defense class for the kids that went to the local high school. Tara had left leaflets everywhere and was ecstatic when youngsters started to show.
Business was booming, and Freya was confident that, once school started, it would be even better. She found herself humming a piece of music that she’d learned when she was a child, and was startled when a discreet voice asked, “Freya? Freya Jensen?”
Startled, she looked up. A young man was looking at her, like he’d seen a ghost. He had mousy brown hair and with those glasses, he seemed like a bookworm or a nerdy professor. She smiled, uncertainly.
“I’m sorry, do I know you?”
“No, you can’t be her. She’s dead. Sorry, my bad.” But he kept staring at her, and she started to feel uncomfortable.
“Actually...” she cleared her throat. He wanted honesty? He’d get it. He obviously knew her, she just couldn’t say the same. “I am Freya Jensen. But I’m sorry, I don’t...”
“Jesus...” The man seemed dazed. “I worked with your father; I was just a trainee when he died. I’m sorry if I seem... I was told you had died... You probably don’t remember me...”
And when he gave that self-depreciative smile, she suddenly remembered him.
He’d bring her father work when he was working from home, had been to several parties at the office and tried to invite her to go out at the last Christmas party she’d gone to.
That was shortly before her abduction. She hadn’t thought about him since.
“Oh, you’re...” his name eluded her and she smiled, embarrassed.
“I’m Jonathan. Jonathan Meyers. But you always called me Jon.”
“I did?”
He had the grace of seeming contrite.
“Actually... no. But I wanted you to.”
She gave him a small smile.
“In that case, it’s a pleasure to make your reacquaintance,” she joked, and he frowned.
“But ... where have you been? People back home think you’re dead.”
And in a way, she was. But not like they thought.
“What happened to you? Where have you been?”
“Is there a problem here?” A voice intervened abruptly. Freya sighed with relief. The last thing she wanted was to go down memory lane with someone from her past life.
Ciaran emerged from the backroom, his face scrunched up. His eyes seemed to harden as he stared at the stranger.
“Ciaran? No, we were just talking. You see, this is...”
“Jon,” he interrupted. He extended his hand to Ciaran, while saying, “I’m one of Freya’s oldest friends.”
That was really stretching the reality a bit, she thought, but when she opened her mouth to speak, a frown of confusion and then pain passed through Jon’s face. Ciaran had indeed shaken his hand, but with enough force to come off as a warning.
“Ciaran?” she called, feeling suddenly insecure. Without taking his eyes off the stranger, Ciaran asked, “Yes, angel?”
“He’s a friend from ... before.” She emphasized the word ‘before’ so that Ciaran would understand that it had nothing to do with the present ... nor with them.
Taking his eyes from the stranger, Ciaran looked at her and his expression softened. “Fill his inscription form. I’m in the ring if you need me.”
In other words, he was just a shout away. He managed to nod at Jon briefly before leaving the room, and Jon released the breath he was holding.
“Wow, this was intense!” he said, scratching his head and looking embarrassed.
“You want to learn self-defense?” she asked, pointing to the leaflet he had in his hands.
“I was looking around for something to do. You see, I worked with your father in the IT department, but now I’m here to teach computer classes at the local high school. I wanted to do something that took me out of the house and away from the computer.”
“You can work out in one of our classes,” she suggested, although she was under the impression that either Declan or Ciaran would chew him a new face in one point five seconds if given the chance.
“You can come two or three times a week, at a schedule of your convenience and work out alone. Or, if you prefer, you can sign up for one of the classes. Declan’s the one who operates the machines, but Tanya does it too when needed. ”
“Let me think about it. Anyhow, what do you say about having a cup of coffee with me later?”
“I’m working...”
“Thus, the later part. I want to know everything about you since you left. God, your father was sorely missed...”
They exchanged numbers and Freya ended up agreeing to the coffee, despite cringing every time he mentioned her father. The twins wanted her to come out of her shell, right? She needed to start somewhere, and a cup of coffee with one of her father’s colleagues was a start as good as any.
