Epilogue
They were mated for three years before Freya got pregnant. She wasn’t even sure that she could be pregnant, and she was terrified. What if she lost the baby? Would her body endure the pregnancy?
She did have a lot of health issues, and she spent the better part of the bedridden pregnancy with her mates near her.
Being mated to twins, it came as no surprise when she was told she was expecting twins. She delivered early, and the tiny babies had to spend some time in an incubator before being released to go home.
What did come as a surprise was that one of them was a girl.
She didn’t know who the father was, nor did she care, but couldn’t help but notice that Declan took to the baby girl and Ciaran to the baby boy.
It seemed the little ones were already taking after their gorgeous fathers, each to their own.
She wondered if it was possible that both had impregnated her, and then she simply decided she didn’t care. They were theirs. Period.
“You did good, angel,” praised Ciaran, kissing his mate with tender love. On the other side of the bed, with the tiny baby in his arms, Declan looked at his brother.
“Her name will be Angel,” he stated, looking at Freya. “This little one has brought us endless happiness. It’s only fair that she be named after you.”
“Do you want to name our little boy?” asked Ciaran, returning the baby to his mother. Freya nestled the little head against her chest and smiled.
“I’ll leave that to you; I’ve done enough for one day.”
“That you did, my brave mate ... my love...” the baby opened his wandering blue eyes, seeming to search for something. He looked his father in the eyes and sucked on his tiny hand. Emotion almost choked Ciaran. “Cillian,” he said. “My little warrior.”
Freya’s eyes filled with tears. She’d never thought she’d be so happy. Her life almost ended at sixteen, but now, she had everything she ever wanted: a family. Two husbands, two perfect little twins ... she couldn’t be happier.
The sun set, bathing the room in a golden light. Ciaran and Declan were both sitting down near their mate with their little ones in their arms, feeling that life really was worth living.
Freya leaned back against the pillow, exhausted from childbirth and a difficult pregnancy. As she felt her body slide into a well-deserved rest, she murmured, “I love you, my mates. With everything I have.”
“We love you too, little angel.”
They felt the heat of the setting sun embrace them before they nestled near their mate.
