Their Eternity

Liv

Bacon. I loved the smell. The accurate indicator of an excellent breakfast. Strong, meaty, and a reminder of a hearty day ahead.

I’d need the strength to survive too. An exciting day awaited, but with my mom in tow. She’d either help me or put up a fuss finding the perfect dress to wear on my big day.

I dressed in comfortable clothes for the occasion. My hair was up in a bun, and loose locks framed my face as I pushed them aside to do my makeup and brushed on lip gloss for added shimmer. I puckered my lips, fussed with a few strands of hair, and peered at my reflection in the mirror.

“I can do this.” I blew out a breath.

The most important day of my life was fast approaching, weeks away, and I tried to contain my nerves.

Cold feet before the wedding wasn’t an option, though it was a normal reaction to tying the knot.

But doubt wasn’t the problem—there was an unsettling sensation that nagged at me every day.

Something was wrong. Any second this dream could blow up in my face like a goddamn ticking time bomb of disaster waiting to happen.

I had to remind myself: I was my own worst enemy, and everything would be fine.

The truth was that Phoenix was a dangerous threat.

I knew how destructive he was, and I wished my phantoms could find him and end him.

Put the damn bastard out of my mind. Unfortunately, killing him wasn’t a luxury to this never-ending problem, and ignorance had to be bliss somehow in this fucked-up situation.

I closed my eyes and left the bathroom, only to collide with Raven. “Oh, shit! I’m sorry.”

“Sorry? It’s me who should watch where I’m going instead of looking at this stupid thing.” Raven waved her cell phone in front of her and rolled her eyes. “I don’t want to deal with this asshole anymore.”

“The ex?” I sighed. “Again?”

“Yep.” Raven popped the P. “The one and only selfish loser who should lose my number.”

I shook my head. “I don’t know why you don’t block him.”

“I freaking wish,” Raven mumbled. “But…”

“I know. I know. You can’t because of Wilson.” I nodded.

Raven’s other best friend, but a white furry one. The damn dog she shared custody with her nasty ex after a horrible separation. She should just get a new one. A boyfriend, of course, because there was no way she’d let go of Wilson.

Raven bought Wilson as a puppy. After the breakup, the dog rightfully should have been hers, but her nasty ex used the poor dog as a damn pawn to keep Raven close. Her ex couldn’t let her go no matter how much he denied his intentions.

Raven’s eyes glistened. “I miss him.”

“I know.” I hugged her and pulled back. “But I know he will be back with you.”

Raven sniffled with a smile. “I will get him back. I’m Wilson’s home, and he’s mine. That dog treated me with more respect than my damn ex.”

“Come on.” I nudged Raven with my shoulder. “Let’s go get some breakfast. Smells like bacon is on the menu.”

“And eggs? There’d better be eggs,” Raven said as she took her two pointer fingers and jabbed them like a fork. “I’ll take mine sunny side up. I can pretend it’s Justin.”

I tossed my head back in laughter at Raven’s gruesome comment about her ex. Look out, Justin. Raven’s wrath is headed straight for you.

“I’m sure Saint can cook some up for you. He’s gotten better with the flipper thingamajig or whatever it’s called.” I snorted like a child.

Young, wild, and free at the impressionable age of thirteen was how I felt with my best friend around.

“Girl. You’re damn lucky to have not one man, but two waiting on you hand and foot.

Willing to do whatever for you and treating you like the damn queen you are.

” Raven hugged me close, her cheek pressing up against mine.

“You deserve this love, Liv, and I’m so glad you found the loves of your life. ”

The loves of my life. Saint was in an apron cooking breakfast with his tongue sticking out as he focused on the task at hand, making me giggle. Sin was by the table, arranging the cutlery, and he peered up at me with a handsome smile, which turned into a devilish grin when I blew him a kiss.

“No way. I want a fucking proper kiss.” Sin walked around the table and tapped his cheek. “Lay one on me, sweetheart.”

I did. Several times. Until Sin tickled my sides, and I giggled in his arms.

“I missed these arms around me when I first woke up.” My head lay back against the crook of his arm as I hugged him closer.

“Well, I had to help this asshole with breakfast,” Sin replied with a nod in Saint’s direction.

“Which we planned to bring to you in bed,” Saint added as he ambled closer and reached for me. “But you were in the shower.”

I intertwined my fingers through Saint’s, and he squeezed my hands and planted kisses on them. Warm sensations zapped through me. I yearned to be closer to both my men. Even after we had fun in the wee early morning hours, I couldn’t get enough of them.

“You should have joined me.” I glanced back at Sin, who still held me in his embrace. “Both of you.”

Sin pecked my lips, and I raised an eyebrow at him. An indication that the opportunity was still open for business, and I felt him grow hard in his pants. He was always a bad boy, but deep down a gentleman as he looked toward my best friend.

Raven cleared her throat with a huge smile. “Should I leave the room?”

Sin blushed. He planted a kiss on the tip of my nose and backed off. But turned around to adjust himself. See? A gentleman.

“Breakfast is served, ladies.” Saint bent over in a bow. “Raven? How do you prefer your eggs?”

“Sunny side up, please.” Raven grinned triumphantly.

I giggled for pretty much the entire breakfast. Lost in bittersweet memories and the new moment we’d made.

It was great to have Raven back in my life, and she was accepting of the men I chose to spend the rest of my life with.

No hesitation, worry, or restrictions. A girl could get used to this wonderful treatment.

“Knock, knock!” a loud, overbearing voice hollered from the front entryway. “Mommy’s here!”

On second thought—kill me.

I turned beet red, placed my hands over my face, and sank into the seat. Shit. Mom was early and sounded as if she had been into the expensive brandy before she left. This would be fun.
