Chapter 26. I Thought There Were Only Supposed to Be Three Bodies?
THE EIGHTH SEQUENCE
Time to reveal what’s REALLY going on.
You’ve run through all the suspects and come back to the beginning. It’s time to bring it all back home.
What is your actual big reveal/resolution? (Who dies, who survives, and who did it??)
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
The ending should be fair to the reader. It can’t come from nowhere. When the reader goes back and reads the book again, they have to be able to find the clues.
You cannot reveal a major fact at the last minute or introduce a new character who happens to be the murderer if you haven’t at least hinted at it earlier.
You have to lay the seeds for all of your suspects throughout the novel so that when everything is finally revealed, the reader is both surprised and satisfied.
That’s the trick.
