Chapter Sixteen
Gareth lifted her and carried her over the threshold.
Adalyn placed her palms on both sides of his face to kiss him on the lips, but in a matter of seconds, Gareth took over.
Wrapping one arm around her waist, he held her against him, sinking the fingers on his other hand in her hair as he angled her head so that their mouths aligned perfectly. He walked to the bedroom.
“You’re mine, Adalyn.” The declaration was low and guttural. “Say it.”
“I’m yours,” she whispered.
“Damn right. And I’m yours.”
Clothes were wrestled off in between kisses.
Gareth thrust his fingers inside her tight pussy and found that spot that had her writhing in pleasure.
His thumb rubbed her clit, and she couldn’t hold back.
Her moans of ecstasy echoed through the bedroom.
Suddenly, he rolled them, and she found herself on top, staring down at him.
“Ride me,” he urged.
He lifted her hips up until she aligned with his rock-hard cock, sinking slowly down.
In this position he filled her differently.
Bigger. Harder. Hitting places that had her pulsing with exhilaration.
Trying hard to control her orgasm. He guided her as he relentlessly thrust into her, again and again, until sweat beaded on their skin.
Until her control shattered and the climax consumed her as she screamed his name.
Then he chased his own, groaning as he filled her.

“What happened with your palms?” he asked.
The scrapes were healed but the memory of them lingered. She couldn’t dismiss them.
“I fell.”
His gaze narrowed. “You know, I can now feel when you lie.”
She sighed. “I really did fall.”
“But that’s not the whole truth.”
“I was shoved,” she admitted. “I fell on my hands and knees, but the material of my clothes cushioned them. I didn’t have that with my palms.”
“Who shoved you?” She didn’t say a name, but she didn’t have to. “Elgene.”
Again, she didn’t confirm.
“I’ll have a talk with Lord Latterly—”
“No,” she said quickly. “She did it to get a rise out of you. Don’t play her game.”
“She hurt you.”
“And she could hurt you worse. You can’t harm thralls, even if that thrall is a horrible bitch. You’d get into so much trouble and she’s not worth it.”
“You’re protecting me again,” he murmured.
“Always,” she vowed.
