Chapter 107

FIVE DAYS LATER.

NADIA.

It had been days since the fateful day that took Leandro and Zahra’s lives. We all tried to move forward and live each day to the fullest. Riley had been making plans for the counterattack with other Alphas here in the South.

Young Alpha Caleb, Alpha Caspian, Alpha Aeon, and Alpha Darvin had been in and out of our territory most days.

Riley and Alpha Aeon wanted Achilles dead for the same reason, while Alpha Caspian wanted him dead for all the attacks he made on his pack for the last three years, including the one that caused the death of his father and his ranked wolves.

While Alpha Darvin wanted to make sure his small territory would not fall victim to any attempt, since his wolf was getting weaker every day.

He needed the alliance of the pack around him to ensure the safety of his own territory, which all these Alphas were willing to give him.

The Alpha pheromones around them were overwhelming at times until I got used to them. And Alpha Caspian bringing Andrea along on most days was a welcome surprise.

Although Andrea grew up in this place, she never made me feel like she knew the territory better than I did, and she never once overstepped me. As Jenny told me, she was a great person, and I was happy to consider her a friend.

“Are you not having a hard time going around with a heavy stomach?” She asked innocently, biting her bottom lip as she waited for my response.

“It can feel heavy at times, but this pup is incredible. Aside from going around like a ball, it has been a great pregnancy.”

“How about sex? Is it harder to do?” Her cheeks began to turn scarlet.

I giggled at her embarrassed expression, but I was glad she was getting bolder with her questions.

“No. If anything, it’s more meaningful and passionate.

I’m sure your mate will find a way that will work for both of you if the time comes.

Are you trying to get pregnant? Sorry if the question is too personal. ”

“It’s not personal. My question was more personal.

” She giggled, and to be honest, I was thankful that Andrea and Riley didn’t have any intimate moments together, or it would have been harder for me to have this conversation with her.

But this one felt natural. “We don’t want to get pregnant just now.

I’m only 18, and Caspian wanted me to enjoy a bit more with just the two of us.

And I’m terrified if I’m going to be a good mother. ”

“You don’t need to rush. But just so you know, I’m scared too. But I guess all first-time mothers will always have that thought because we know nothing about motherhood until we become one.”

“That’s a beautiful way to say it. Do you mind if I touch your stomach?”

“Sure…”

Andrea beamed before she laid her hand on my stomach and leaned her face closer to him as she whispered to him.

“Hello, baby Alpha. I can’t wait to meet you.

One day, when I have pups of my own, I’m hoping you will play with them.

You see, I didn’t have many friends when I grew up, so it would be nice if my pups have friends while growing up. ”

The day was almost over, and the Alphas had gone home, and so had Andrea. But I knew they knew they would all be back soon, as their plans to capture Achilles were getting bigger.

‘Luna, Lady Sofia has arrived.’ Jenny mindlinked me. I immediately went out of my own office, which Riley had renovated weeks ago but I had just started using it.

‘She’s here? With Katarina or Alpha Darvin?’

‘No. Just her, and she looked like she was crying.’

‘Oh, Goddess! I wonder what’s wrong. It’s not safe to be traveling at this time.’ I hurriedly answered her as I made my way to the receiving area and immediately saw Sofia by the window overlooking the packhouse grounds.

“Sofia! Is everything all right?” I asked, and she spun around before launching herself at me. Her arms coiled around my body as she hugged me tightly before soft sobs escaped her throat.

“Oh Goddess, what’s wrong?” I asked, my heart thudding loudly as I rubbed her back.

“Nothing is wrong. I’m just happy. Is Beta Dominic around?” She pulled away from hugging me as she wiped her tears away.

“No. He’s not here, but he’ll be home probably in an hour.” My hands went up to her arms as I tried to read her eyes.

She smiled at me and nodded her head. “I want to talk to him.”

“Don’t tell me you came here alone because I’m sure Riley and your brother will be mad as hell that you came here without Darvin knowing.”

“No. Darvin gave me his men to travel with me. He didn’t want me to go here, but you know, no one could stop me if I wanted something done.”

“Okay, good to know. But what’s the deal with the Beta? You came all the way here just to talk to him?”

Her eyes twinkled despite the wetness pooling in them as a lovely smile curled on her lips.

“Darvin told me Dominic spoke with him today. The Beta wanted to claim me in the next Claiming.” She bit her bottom lip as happiness radiated on her face, while my mouth dropped open, but before I could say anything, somebody came rushing in from the front door.

“Sofia!” Beta Dominic’s voice erupted in the air. “What are you doing here?”

One moment I was holding Sofia, but the next moment she was already in the Beta’s arms, and the Beta was clutching her like he didn’t want anyone to touch her.
