5. CHAPTER 5

SEBASTIAN - FOUR YEARS AGO

T he only thing illuminating the hotel room was the moonlight.

It wasn’t anything fancy, but all I needed was a bed.

Well, sometimes I didn’t even need that.

“I saw you fighting earlier tonight.” The brunette’s voice was low and breathy.

“I had to come and speak to you at the bar.” Her fingers made their way to my belt buckle and unclipped it, releasing that tension that had built up.

Her eyes flickered down, then met mine with a seductive look.

She leaned into my ear. “I’m going to enjoy gagging on that,” she whispered.

I hated it when they talked.

I grabbed the back of her head and pushed her to her knees. Her eyes met mine, her hand wrapping around my cock, and she started stroking. She licked the pre-cum off the tip, tingling every nerve in my body, then teased my cock with her tongue.

My phone screen lit up, vibrating violently on the side.

Whoever it was could wait.

I felt the brunette’s lips start to slide up and down, making my cock wet with each motion. I slowly started to move my hips, helping her take it all.

My phone vibrated again, and this time my eyes flickered to the screen.

Aria.

It was 3:15 a.m.

Why was she calling so late?

I reached over and grabbed it, pressing the button to answer.

“Sebastian, I lost my shoe,” she slurred, her voice lingering on the word “shoe” for way too long. “I can’t find it. Can you help me, please?”

Was she drunk? There was music blaring in the background.

I pulled my body back, my cock falling from the woman’s mouth. She looked up, surprised.

“Where are you?”

“Erm, I’m not sure.”

I held the phone to my ear with my shoulder as I pulled my boxers and trousers back up, tucking my softening cock back in.

“Aria, can you send me your location?” I zipped my trousers back up and then clipped my buckle back together. The woman stood up and huffed as she sat on the bed. I ignored her.

My phone pinged in my ear, so I pulled it away, glancing at the screen.

What was she doing in Hackney?

“Did you get it?”

I put my phone back to my ear. “Yeah. Stay there, I’m coming to get you.”

“Ok, Sebastian. Just don’t be too long; I’m starving.”

I couldn’t help but huff out a laugh. “I’ll take you to get some food. Just promise me you won’t move from there, Nyx.”

“I promise,” she whispered.

I ended the call and slid my phone into my pocket.

“You’re going to leave me for another woman? Just like that?” the brunette asked. I’d almost forgotten she was still here.

“I am. Stay if you want. The room is paid for.”

No woman would compare to Aria. If she needed me, I’d be there in a heartbeat, and I wasn’t about to forget that for a woman who meant nothing to me.

“When can I see you again?” She leaned forward, crossing her legs.

“That’s not going to happen.”

There was no guilt on my part. Women were nothing more than objects to me. A way to release that tension. This one was no different. I picked up my jacket, making sure I had everything, then made my way to the door.

I turned back for a second. “Help yourself to the minibar.”

I pulled up to the curb outside the location Aria had given me. A few people were scattered on the pavement outside the house. They were clearly drunk, and the party looked like it was still going, with the music blaring and lights flashing.

There was no sign of Aria, though.

I dialled her number, and she soon answered.

“Where are you? I told you to stay here.”

A knock came at my window. “I’m here.” She said it through the phone, but she had a huge smile on her face.

I ended the call and stepped outside the car. “Nyx, what are you doing at a place like this?”

Her long, blonde hair wasn’t straight like she would normally have it.

It was bouncy and full of loose curls. And those shimmering grey eyes of hers were unfocused—clearly from the alcohol.

Her arms were exposed to the cold air, goose bumps covering them.

She stood there in bare feet, the shortest skirt, her top barely covering her stomach, and one stiletto heel in her hand.

I unzipped my jacket and wrapped it around her to keep her warm.

She may have been a month off eighteen, but she didn’t need to dress like that.

“What happened to the other shoe?”

She threw her arms in the air. “That’s why I called. I lost it.”

“And you thought you’d call Prince Charming?”

She turned to face me and patted my chest. “You’re just a diamond in the rough.”

“Ok, no more Disney references for you tonight.” I laughed as she linked her arm through mine.

“Help me find my shoe?” She looked up at me with a wide smile, her eyes gleaming.

“Fine.”

Aria looked out the window as I drove through the city, making our way home. “Oh, that one's open!”

I pulled into a lay-by next to the chicken and chip shop, turned the ignition off, and then got out. Aria was already at the shop door.

“What can I get you, boss?” the man behind the counter asked me.

I looked down at Aria. “What do you want?”

She placed her finger on her lips and examined the board for a few moments.

“A chicken burger with loads of mayonnaise and chips,” she said. “Oh, and a Strawberry Miranda.”

“And you, boss?”

“I’m good.”

He nodded and started preparing the food. Aria went and sat down at a plastic table, crossing her legs, then her foot started to swing slightly. She still had my jacket on, but if I had it my way, she’d be wearing a pair of my joggers from my car boot to cover her bare legs as well.

My eyes made their way to her feet. “You dragged me around that house party to find your shoe. You’re still walking around barefoot?”

“My feet hurt. If you didn’t have clown feet, I’d have stolen your trainers from the car.”

I snorted. “Clown feet?”

“Yes, those big old size fourteens of yours.”

The man came over and placed the food down on the table. I watched her pick up the chicken burger, admiring it for a few moments. But before she could take a bite, I snatched it from her and bit into it myself.

“You’re such a loser.” She laughed, throwing a chip at me, then rescued the burger from my hand.

“You love it really, Nyx.” I grinned at her.

Her eyes met mine. “That’s debatable.”
