Chapter 14 #2
I pulled my hand out of her shorts and licked my fingers clean before carrying her bridal-style into my bathroom, where I sat her down on the counter and made quick work of turning on the shower and stripping us both before stepping under the spray from the rainfall showerhead.
“You’re so fucking magnificent.” Our tongues tangled as she returned my kiss with equal hunger. “And you keep surprising me.”
“I—” Kiss. “Surprise you?” Kiss. “I don’t remember you being so—”
“So, what?” I lifted her, forcing her legs to wrap around my waist as I pinned her back against the tiled wall.
“So . . . I don’t know? Possessive? Dominant?” Her radiant blue eyes sparkled with a gleam of playfulness, knowing just how to tilt my axis with a single mouthwatering smirk as she shimmied her weight, adjusting her position, causing my cock to nudge against her pussy.
The knowledge that all it would take was a single roll of my hips to slide inside her silky heat was nearly my undoing. “Do you like it?”
“I do. I really, really do.”
Her touch drifted down from my neck, fingers tracing the intricately woven lilies inked across the length of my collarbone, as her warm lips trailed down to the center of my chest, stopping with purpose over my heart before she lowered herself and sank to the tiled floor at my feet.
“Lily.” The sight of her on her knees was a vision I wanted stamped on my soul for eternity.
“But I thought you’d have figured that out, given how wet I get for you.” She curled her fingers around my erection and wasted no time dragging her tongue teasingly up my thick, harder than granite length as pre-cum leaked from the crown.
While I wasn’t the horny teenager who embarrassingly blew his load too quickly, I felt like I was that guy again, having no control over myself around her. Christ, I’d finished in my damn pants the other night just from the sight of her licking her orgasm off my finger.
But at this moment in time, words would never be able to fully capture the intoxicating sensation as a long overdue fantasy of mine came to life—Lily in my shower with her lips wrapped around my cock and her eyes brimming with ambition.
Intense and unapologetically unashamed.
“Fuck, Lily, baby.” I reached out, my palms smacking the tiles in front of me for support as my knees threatened to buckle.
The motion only spurred her on as she worked her palm faster and swiped her tongue with force under the ridge of my cock.
But the second her other hand massaged my balls, and a finger slipped, pressing on the patch of skin just behind them, the tension that had been tingling at the edge of my spine, erupted with intense convulsions of pleasure.
My head fell back on my shoulders, and my eyes rolled in reverse as an all-consuming decadence blurred the edges of my world, while her mouth devoured me, and my release coated her tongue and throat.
Once my mind stopped spinning, I helped her off the tiled shower floor and leaned down, resting my forehead against hers. “Holy fuck,” I breathed, completely and utterly exasperated. “I didn’t mean for that to happen. I didn’t want—”
“Why are you so keen on holding yourself back from me?”
I hated that I’d put that tone of doubt in her head, but it was also a loaded question.
Part of me knew that picking up where we left off wouldn’t work; time had changed us and shattered too many pieces of what we once shared. But the other part, the one with intrusive thoughts, was terrified of somehow losing her again.
But no matter how hard things got, I’d always try for her.
I’d always show up because she was the air in my lungs, every beat of my heart and deserved nothing less than all the love I had to give.
My desire to build us back up, stronger and more united than ever, piece by fragile piece, meant being honest about why I hadn’t let her touch me in return before now.
“I need you to get dressed,” I said, stepping back to open the shower door and reach for the towels.
“What? Why? I thought—”
The look of devastation that blanketed her body nearly stopped me in my tracks as I wrapped the soft towel gently around her shoulders. “Everything is okay, I promise. I just . . . Can you trust me right now?”
She nodded with her lips tucked between her teeth.
I brushed my knuckles over her jaw before sliding my fingers to the nape of her neck, resting my thumb gently against her cheek. “The reason I’ve held myself back isn’t because of you, it’s because I know the second I allowed your touch, I wouldn’t be able to hold back—”
“But I don’t want you to, not with me, not ever.”
“Lily, you are the most precious thing in the world to me, and I want nothing more than to have you in a way that should have always been ours. To give us back what was taken, but for that to happen, I had to do something first.”
“I don’t care about anything other than you, Jaxon. I don’t need anything else.” Trepidation laced her plea.
“I know, all I need is you too, but this, this was something I needed to do, okay?”
“Okay.” She smiled with understanding.
“There’s a garment bag in my closet. I need you to put the dress on and meet me out in the living room.”
“You bought me a dress?” Her brows furrowed in confusion.
“I sure did. Trust me, remember.” I winked.
“But I can’t go anywhere looking like this?” She looked down at her towel-covered body while running a hand over the back of her head. “My hair is wet, and I don’t have any—”
“You’re gorgeous, Lily, and the only person who is going to be seeing you tonight is me, but I’ll give you an hour to get yourself ready. Does that work?” I asked.
“I won’t need that long, but yes, thank you.”
I pressed a chaste kiss across her lips before I retreated to Jameson’s old bedroom to towel myself off, change, and then head to the kitchen, where I waited anxiously for my girl to be ready.
The temptation to pour myself a shot of whiskey to help steel my nerves was great, but I didn’t want anything to alter my senses.
Especially not tonight, of all nights.
Instead, I leaned myself against the kitchen counter and thought ahead with great anticipation to the night that was undoubtedly going to change everything between us forever. Where our hearts and souls would finally collide and rewrite our fate in the stars for eternity.
