Chapter Thirteen #2
Pressure built between Tovi’s legs, her building need too much. She fidgeted in his hold, but Eldrick held firm, using his knees to widen her stance.
Bloody hel.
“Eldrick please,” she panted as he eased his fingers towards her entrance and—
Oh.
He plunged a finger inside her, and she wasn’t certain what was more so her undoing, the feel of him pressed against her, the tingling of being stretched, or the sight of him on the brick of unleashing as he coaxed whimper after breathless whimper from her.
“You know,” Eldrick whispered into her ear, not breaking the rhythm of his pumping finger. “There are few things I regret in life, but not tasting between your legs that night is one of them.”
He pulled his finger out, and Tovi didn’t have time to protest as he lifted her into the air. Eldrick carried her to the bed, depositing her on the furs and blankets. His sights fell onto her sex, male intent glinting, but Tovi planted her foot onto his chest and pushed.
“Undress.”
Eldrick’s jaw ticked, nostrils flaring. Tovi swore she caught a twitch in his pants, and she bit her lip, more heat rushing to her sex, knowing she, too, had the same power over him that he had over her.
The alpha took no time shedding his clothes—throwing off his shirt, discarding his belt, tossing his boots and trousers aside.
He stood in all his naked glory, taut muscles glowing in the fire’s light.
Tovi crawled backward as he joined her on the bed, his length straight and proud, taunting her with a promise she desperately needed to deny.
No.
Her body warred with the notion, and Tovi accepted that there were many things she stood strong against, but with Eldrick, she was weak. Yet, she didn’t give a bloody hel as he looked at her like that, emerald eyes so intent, her heart beat with the intensity of the words he didn’t say.
He grasped both her ankles and pulled her under him, and his head fell between her legs.
“Gods,” she cried out as his tongue licked her back to front, not missing an inch of her.
“Goddess,” Eldrick corrected, his words tickling the insides of her thighs. “There is only one goddess here, and I plan to worship her with my tongue.”
Stars above, he did. His tongue licked and sucked her clit. The only appropriate word was worship—Eldrick’s attention was pure devotion, his exploration alighting every fiber of Tovi’s being on fire, hot and burning and alive like the one crackling at the hearth.
She laced her fingers into his hair, twisting through the dark, tousled strands, still damp from his shower. Eldrick dug his fingers into her backside, her skin prickling alive at his touch. Her body buzzed, toes curling into the furs.
“Eldrick.” Tovi had one foot dangling off oblivion, and as Eldrick drove two fingers into her, sucking her clit, she fell.
And burst into a thousand pieces.
Her hands tightened in his hair, her legs locking around Eldrick’s smiling, triumphant face. She’d never known pleasure to feel like rebirth, like some damn awakening.
Eldrick peppered tender kisses up her legs, such a gentle contrast compared to the destruction of her senses.
The need he’d sedated only drove Tovi’s baser instinct into overdrive. Thought and rationale left her completely. It was only the building pressure in her chest, this tug between them. She pushed Eldrick onto his back, climbed atop of him, and straddled his hips.
“Fuck,” Eldrick cursed, as his length slid through her folds.
Two shades of green collided. Emerald bore into her jade, and a mixture of disbelief and admiration shined there. This would only make things worse, her decisions more complicated.
“This is a terrible idea,” she whispered.
“I know, dove,” Eldrick breathed, but his hands glided up her thighs and gripped her waist, not stopping Tovi but positioning her. She guided his length towards her entrance.
No. No. No, her mind screamed.
Yes. Yes. Yes, her body chanted.
But Tovi was too tired to think about it any longer, and all she understood was want.
Tovi sank.
They both cried out as their bodies joined. Tovi planted her hands onto Eldrick’s chest, grounding herself as she found her tempo and moved.
Why had she denied herself this? Why had she pretended she didn’t need this?
Need him.
This differed from the last time they lay together. That had been desperation, build up, yet this was like coming back together. Finding home. Breathing in the scent of where one’s soul came alive.
The wolf and dove.
Tovi drowned out the whispers of the prophecy as she rode Eldrick’s cock, and for the first time in centuries, she chose pleasure over sensibility. As Eldrick sat up and wrapped his powerful arms around her, he held her steady as she shattered again.
When his own release found him, they sat entangled with one another, and he said in a hushed tone, “I could watch you like that for forever.”
Tovi used her ragged breath and limp limbs as an excuse to not answer, shutting her eyes. Such beautiful words that pierced her ribs like a blade.
For there was no doubt in Tovi. Fate had chosen Eldrick as her forever, yet she was certain neither of them would step foot on that path.
