21. Chapter Twenty-One #2
The anger that she’d tried to keep a handle on bubbled up. Fuck it. She was the wife of a biker, and she wasn’t going to put up with juvenile behavior anymore.
Cecilia stood, turning toward Jasmine. Maverick started to rise but Cecilia held her hand out. It was time she took out the trash once and for all.
“I had a lot of assumptions about you, Jasmine, when I first saw you, and now I’m rethinking them,” Cecilia said.
“Oh, really? What assumptions?” Jasmine challenged.
“I thought you must be smart because you were using your skills in exchange for room and board,” Cecilia remarked.
“What skills?” Jasmine demanded.
Seriously? Was Jasmine really asking her?
“Your Hoover-like mouth and your well-used vagina,” Cecilia said, taking a couple steps away from the table.
“You bitch!” Jasmine screamed.
“Now, you can’t get angry because I’m telling the truth. That would be rude. Even though you said I needed to leave, I was still willing to leave you alone as long as you kept your mouth shut, but you can’t help yourself,” Cecilia said.
Jasmine turned toward her, her right foot moving a little. Oh, this was going to be fun because once Jasmine rushed, Cecilia wouldn’t feel bad about anything that happened after that.
“He’ll come back to me,” Jasmine hissed.
“No, he won’t. If he didn’t make you his Ol’ Lady or marry you in the eight years you’ve been here, he’s not going to.
You were a convenient hole to get off in.
He’s my husband, and, well, I’m fucking possessive.
You can either choose to quit talking about him, or I’ll make you quit,” Cecilia stated with flat, chilling certainty.
Jasmine stared at her. Oh, yeah, Jasmine was going for a fight.
Cecilia let all the anger she’d felt about everything and the hate she had for Useless bubble up.
Jasmine rushed her. Cecilia let her get close, then stepped to the side, grabbing Jasmine’s hair, swinging her toward the booth.
Jasmine crashed into the booth, scraping her arms and chest, but jumped back up.
“What the fuck, bitch?” Jasmine yelled and rushed Cecilia again.
This time, Cecilia got ready with her arms up.
When Jasmine ran toward her, Cecilia didn’t sidestep.
She put every bit of strength and anger behind a right jab straight at Jasmine’s nose.
The satisfying crunch of her nose breaking and Jasmine’s scream was music to Cecilia’s ears.
Jasmine grabbed her nose as blood poured through her fingers.
“You’ll pay for this,” Jasmine wheezed.
Cecilia stepped closer, but Maverick had jumped up and was standing beside her. Mammoth had grabbed Jasmine’s arm, keeping her an arm’s length from Cecilia.
“No, I won’t, but if you try to do anything to anyone I love, then I won’t just break your nose. Funny thing—I don’t treat anything that I’ve inflicted. I do have a question, though,” Cecilia said.
“What?” Jasmine spat, jerking, trying to get her arm loose from Mammoth.
“How’d you know the guys were on their way back?” Cecilia asked.
“Um, what?” Jasmine stammered.
The wild look in her eyes said everything.
Cecilia had been trying to figure out how private information from the clubhouse seemed to be getting to Judith.
When Cecilia had told Dragon about the phone call, he had said he was waiting to find out what time the guys would be back.
Torrent was supposed to call when he had passed through Demise.
The only way Jasmine could know that the guys were close to home was if she had an outside source.
“That does seem a little interesting, doesn’t it, Mav?” Mammoth asked.
“It does,” Mav agreed, pulling out his phone and looking at it.
“I don’t even have a notification that the guys are close, and Dragon has been in his office the whole time.
Mammoth, would you take Jasmine to Dragon?
I’ll be there in a minute. Tell him I want him to hold off questions until we’re all there,” Maverick instructed.
“You got it,” Mammoth nodded, pulling Jasmine along by her arm.
“No! I didn’t do anything. Mammoth, you know you love my mouth,” she pleaded.
“One wet hole’s as good as another. Nothin’ special about yours,” Mammoth said, walking away.
Maverick turned to her, “Are you okay?”
She nodded. “Yes.”
“Prospect just opened the gate,” Fury interjected, looking at his phone.
“Great catch on Jasmine and way to go standing up for yourself. I was surprised Monster didn’t get into it too,” Maverick praised.
“Thank you. I motioned him no. If she would have knocked me down, he would have ignored my command,” Cecilia replied.
“Honey, we’re home,” Bravo called as the guys walked in.
Cecilia turned and ran toward Torrent, throwing her arms around him. His arms wrapped around her.
“Love the hug, but you okay?” he murmured.
She nodded against his cut. She’d stood up to Jasmine, but now that Torrent was here, she didn’t have to be strong. He’d keep them safe.
“I am now,” she whispered, looking up at him.
His mouth quirked in the way she loved. He leaned closer, letting her decide if it was okay until his mouth claimed hers.
His touch, his taste wasn’t something to fear.
It was his promise of always being her home.
They may not have made love or even made out much yet, but Torrent was the man who had saved her and the one she considered hers.
“Dragon’s called Church. We have some issues to deal with,” Maverick interrupted.
Torrent nodded. “You okay if I leave you?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m going to go hang out with Calliope and Sally in her suite,” Cecilia said.
“I’ll walk her up there,” Chey offered.
Torrent nodded. “Okay, I’ll come find you when we’re done.”
“Full sentences. Who is this man who’s taken over Torrent’s body?” Maverick teased.
“Shut it, Flappy Lips,” Torrent grunted.
