Chapter 31 #2
“They seem to show up on schedule. Every four days they’ve been here.
Always doing the same thing. They show up, identify her, and then leave.
Just like that. Tonight’s the fourth night.
If they stick to their schedule, they should be here.
” As if the universe is working in my favor, Finn’s voice comes over the comms unit that’s in both Saint’s and my ears.
“They’re here. Coming through the door now.” We push off the wall and make our way to the balcony, looking over the railing. The three men stand side by side, looking out onto the dance floor.
“Once they come to the second floor, there’s an elevator behind the bar that leads to the basement. Have your friends take them there,” I say back into my earpiece.
“Already on it.” A British voice comes through, and I recognize it as Dean.
“Colson, they’re coming your way. Dean will follow them upstairs, and the pair of you meet at the elevator. I’ll be inside waiting,” Everett instructs his guys, and the three move in sync.
“How will you get them to follow two dangerous looking men?” Brooks asks through his comms.
“Then it’s my turn, boys.” A sweet, innocent-sounding woman’s voice stuns me. I look at Saint, who heard the same thing I did.
Who the fuck is that?
Watching the three men step off the staircase, I notice a beautiful little blond woman saunter her way up to the three men we are after, smiling wide with bright white teeth. Saint’s eyebrows shoot so far up his face I’m afraid they may fall off.
“Who’s that?” I hear Brooks and Owen say almost in sync.
“Hello, gentleman. My name’s Sloan. The owner would like for you to accompany me to our VIP section for tonight.
Please follow me, and I’ll help get the three of you settled.
” The blond girl’s seductive voice filters through our comms as we stand and watch her successfully capture their attention and lead them to the hallway. A perfect little honey trap.
“Oh no, we aren’t staying. We’re just looking for someone,” Diego says to her but continues to follow her towards the dark hall.
“Come on, man. One drink in VIP won’t hurt,” Leonard pouts and moves closer behind the girl. Just when he’s about to touch her lower back, she spins around, catching him off guard.
“Ah-ah, no touching. Not yet.” She gives him a sultry wink as we watch the four of them disappear down the hallway.
“Well, that was too fucking easy,” Saint says from beside me. I nod in agreement. Our comms quickly pick up muffled groans, a few whimpers, and then nothing. Silence.
“You really thought you could touch our girl? You’re stupider than you look.” Dean’s voice comes through the comms, and I am now thoroughly confused.
“Wait, whose girl was that?” Owen asks. My whole crew is just as confused as I am.
“Head to the basement, everyone,” I say through comms. We all make our way to the elevator or stairs and quickly head to the basement to figure out what the fuck just happened.
Saint, Finn, and I pile into the elevator.
I assume Owen and Brooks use the stairs, and when the doors open, I have to refrain from letting my jaw hit the ground.
However, Finn’s mouth is completely agape as he stares at the scene in front of us.
“Who are you, you beautiful devil?” Finn says to the blond girl who is now standing in between Everett, Dean, and Colson. I notice both Dean and Everett have their hands on her shoulders as she leans her back against Colson’s front.
“This is our girl, Sloan. She works with our corporation as well,” Everett informs the room as Brooks and Owen enter through the stairwell door.
“Wait, what do you mean ‘our’ girl? Like an employee of yours, or like all three of you and her?” Saint asks the question we all need clarification on. The girl releases a sweet, melodic laugh, stepping towards me with her hand outstretched.
“I’m Sloan, and yes, we are all together in one relationship. I know it’s unconventional, but love is love, no matter how many people are involved.”
I shake her hand. “Saxon. Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you as well. You have a beautiful club here. Congratulations on the new ownership.”
“Wait a damn minute. She’s an assassin too?!” Brooks says to the room, disbelief written across his face.
“If you’d like to call it that, then yeah, sure, I’m an assassin.
But a good assassin, not a bad one.” Sloan gives the guys a gentle smile and steps back towards the three men.
I notice behind the guys, Diego and Leonard are tied to two chairs.
However, I don’t see Riggs. I do, however, see a large black body bag on the floor beside the wall, stuffed full and unmoving.
“He’s already packed up nice and tight, waiting for us to make our flight back home. If you don’t need anything else from us, then we should be heading out,” Everett says to the room, his hand wrapping around Sloan’s waist and giving her an affectionate smile.
“So soon? Why not stay the night here and party with us?” Finn practically whines as he approaches Dean, giving him a bro hug and then doing the same to Colson.
“We’d love to, but believe it or not, we are currently on the job and need to make this delivery. Or rather, confirm the completion of said delivery,” Everett responds before giving Finn a bro hug as well.
I approach the four of them, shaking their hands one by one and thanking them for their help tonight.
“I appreciate your help, and whenever you all come to town again, you’ll always be welcome.”
“Thank you, Saxon. Much appreciated, mate.” Everett is about to turn and follow Dean and Colson into the stairwell when Sloan approaches me. I look down at this beautiful, fierce woman with her striking blue eyes as she grabs my hand in hers.
“Don’t ever stop taking care of her. Even when she says she can do it all herself, be there for her.
Sometimes the strongest women need the most help to find their way out of the dark.
” Wrapping her arms around me, she hugs me with so much force, it’s like she’s trying to communicate more to me.
Pulling away, she looks into my eyes one more time before she smiles and follows her men through the doorway, body bag in tow, and disappears from view.
I’m momentarily stunned. Her words hit me like a freight train.
They held so much honesty and truth that it scratches my insides raw.
“Did you know they were all fucking her?” Brooks asks his brother.
“I sure did,” he puffs out his chest, “one time we were all playing on-line and she came into the room and started messing around with them. Like fucking them. While we were playing. At the same time! It was the hottest thing I’ve ever heard.
” Finn fans himself as if the mere memory has gotten him off.
All the guys are still stuck on the idea that all four of them are in a relationship. While Brooks, Finn, and Owen chat about the possibilities of what goes where when they’re all going at it, Saint and I approach the two unconscious men in the center of the room.
Diego is a bigger guy. Not as big as Saint or me, but he’s stockier than Leonard. Leonard is thin and a couple of inches shorter than Diego. I also notice a scar that starts at the corner of Diego’s mouth and slices up his cheek. Looks like it fucking hurt, however he got it.
“Now what do you want to do?” Saint asks me, crossing his arms and shifting from one foot to the other.
“We wait for Sky. This is her revenge. Plus, we may be able to get more information from her when she’s here. Like why the fuck are they in our town?”
I pull the guys out of their heated discussion about the proper placement of body parts when three men are involved with one woman. I need to get their fucking heads back in the game.
The three of them will be staying down here, ensuring our two captives remain seated, while Saint and I make our way back to the club and our office to monitor from there. We make our way to the elevator and once the doors close, Saint lets out a deep chuckle.
“Seriously, though. That little woman is able to take those three fucking cavemen at once?” I can’t contain my laughter either. The mental image in my head makes me feel all types of worried for that poor woman. Then again, she looked perfectly happy being the centerpiece of their world.
“Do you think they cross swords too?”
