I’m on my lunch break in the hospital cafeteria when my phone starts buzzing nonstop.
The Sunshine Boys group chat is lighting up again, the one Trevor started years ago with Vince before pulling me and George in.
Adrian was an honorary groomsman in his wedding back in Azure Tides three months ago even though he wasn’t a part of the official entourage.
We like Holloway’s boyfriend far too much to leave him out of anything.
We use this group chat for random memes and check-ins, so multiple notifications in quick succession means someone’s got news.
I pick up my cafeteria sandwich and open the messages.
Trevor: Righto, boys. San Francisco in two weeks. Vince has a game against Portland and we’re all going up to watch him absolutely dominate.
Vince: No need to come up for one game.
Me: We’re excited to see you too, Holloway.
George: Shop’s slow that week.
Adrian: Perfect. Everyone’s staying at our place.
Vince: OUR place. Listen to him.
Vince: And you didn’t ask if I wanted people over.

Trevor: It’s completely true.

Me: Jealous? I have a perfectly healthy bachelor life. I can do whatever I like and whoever I like.
George: You can what now?
Trevor: LOL George sounds like a jealous wife.
Vince: Game’s at 1 PM Saturday. You can all show up Friday night, we’ll get food, stay through Sunday if you want.
Trevor: Becca and I will roll in Saturday morning. Got a quick stop to make first.
Me: Perfect. A whole weekend of bothering Holloway.
Vince: That’s exactly what I’m afraid of.
Adrian: Don’t worry. I’ll protect you.
Vince: You’re the one who invited them.
Adrian: They entertain me.
Trevor: Can’t wait. I haven’t seen you two since the wedding.
Me: The Azure Tides power couple, defying all odds after a ten-year time skip.
Me: You owe us for helping that reunion to happen.
Adrian: Fate brought us back together. We don’t owe you anything.

Vince: I’ll be there by dinner. Cutting my training short.
