Eighteen #6

Folding in half once more, she smothered the body beneath her and sank into another lush kiss.

Gillian’s hands worked down her back and sides, teasing, caressing, massaging, and holding her close, but Daphne explored that accomplished mouth with her own tongue.

God, she wanted to know this woman in all the ways she’d denied herself for so long.

Running her lips along her jaw, she breathed in the subtle scent of orange blossom and bergamot before nibbling on the lobe of her ear.

Gillian’s hips gave a little rock up underneath Daphne, and she thrilled at the discovery. Kissing her way across her perfect features once more, she worked the same path to the other ear, and this time bit harder.

This time Gillian gasped. It was unsettling how much the sound aroused Daphne, like the first hit of some new substance she was bound to crave later.

She continued to nip and suck while unfastening Gillian’s slacks and pushing them over her hips.

Then with finesse she worked her way into underwear she hadn’t even seen.

The process would’ve been easier and smoother if she could’ve pulled herself away more fully, but she couldn’t stop kissing her.

She wanted more of the same, and more of everything else, too. Mostly, more of Gillian.

With the final barriers pushed down and kicked aside, Daphne slid her body lower.

She extended her legs along Gillian’s, then slipped one of her own between lean, muscled thighs.

God, her body was long and taut and everything Daphne had never let herself imagine.

Soft and smooth, slender and strong, a perfect physical paradox to encapsulate all the other complexities she carried.

Propping herself up on one arm, she watched Gillian’s expression as she brought her knee up to grind against her need, already hot and wet enough to suggest she was readier than she let on.

“‘Not unaffected,’ huh?”

Gillian’s lips curled up. “Never when you’re around.”

Daphne’s head swam at the idea. Was this what it had always been?

Could have always been? The tension between them, the friction, she ground into her harder as if to test the theory, and Gillian groaned.

Closing her eyes, she pressed her head a little deeper into the pillow and Daphne marveled at the hint of surrender.

God, how had she missed it until now? She wanted Gillian this way.

Naked, open, pinned beneath her with hard edges blending into the soft mattress.

Lowering her head once more, she kissed along the graceful curve of her throat, dipping her tongue into the hollow and trailing out along pronounced collarbones.

Gillian’s arms wrapped around her, holding her firmly enough to allow movement without a withdrawal. As if Daphne were capable of pulling back. She only drew her thigh far enough to replace it with her hands.

“Daphne,” Gillian whispered her name hoarsely, part plea, part command.

Curling her fingers forward, she didn’t have to search.

Gillian’s body opened to her in the ways their minds had never allowed, and what a body it was.

Daphne ached to know every part of it, but she’d long ago lost her capacity for temperance where Gillian was concerned, and she worked two fingers quickly inside.

Gillian responded by tightening her grip in her way, holding Daphne close and pulling her deeper.

They began to rock together, a dance they already knew to a pulse that had coursed through them both even before they understood why.

Daphne placed heated kisses along Gillian’s chest, as wet and hot as the spot between her legs.

She kissed pink nipples and sucked the soft skin of firm breasts as they ground into each other.

Gillian’s breath came sharper and faster as she spread her legs wider under Daphne.

The move was both practical and meaningful, and Daphne’s chest expanded to take it all in.

This woman was welcoming her, opening to her, surrendering to her.

It should’ve felt like a kind of victory, but the honor and awe of it nearly overcame her.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t satisfied, so much as the satisfaction spilled over her.

She wanted them both coated in it now. Picking up the pace, she ran a thumb along Gillian’s center and felt her nearly come off the bed.

She was close, and Daphne had been the one to put her there.

She grew dizzy with all the implications of that realization, but she wouldn’t allow herself to float away.

Kissing her way back up to that awe-inspiring mouth, Daphne continued to work in tight circles at the apex of the thighs wrapped around her as everything built to a striking crescendo.

Gillian called out into the kiss, and Daphne absorbed every shock radiating out from her core.

Nothing would be the same. Maybe it had never been what she’d thought, but as Gillian clutched tightly to her, none of that seemed to matter anymore.

Whatever they’d believed or pretended was broken, and what they would become next was still being created.

For the first time ever, the two of them merely existed in a moment as perfect as the woman shaking beneath her.
