Chapter 20

GILLIAN

“Don’t be silly…let me finish.” The words are hardly out of my mouth before my brain clocks what he’s just said.

Breed.

My head fills with the images of Kerra and Scarlett, both with Sarkarnii babies, along with Rosalie and Maggie, both visibly pregnant.

Breeding is absolutely possible. Getting pregnant by one of these huge Sarkarnii is entirely possible. Even if I’m still not sure how given the lack of equipment.

Dalox turns his head, eyeing me carefully.

“As you wish,” he rumbles and slowly turns his huge form on the shelf.

Initially, I am again struck by how wide and muscled his chest is. Coupled with his great shoulders, he is one massive male of his species. My eyes trail down to where, last time I looked, there was nothing.

Oh boy. OH BOY.

What greets me is not something I’d have imagined in my wildest dreams. It is enormous. Bobbing gently in the water up against his abdomen, covered in shiny scales and a set of nodes which graduate from small to large. Pre-cum runs from the tip, which is broad and slightly curved.

My eyes flick back up to Dalox’s face.

“I desire you, little spark,” he rasps. “I wish to sheathe myself in your sweet cunt and pleasure you until the stars go out.”

I blink. Rapidly.

“Yes,” I breathe. “It would appear so.”

Dalox scratches at his arms, the rest of his skin sliding from his body in a single sheet, to float away from us in the pool. A shadow of the creature in front of me.

“But if you do not wish to mate, Gillian, then I thank you for your assistance, and I will show you to your quarters,” he says.

My brain appears to have stalled. Not only the heat of the water, but what I have in front of me has taken any senses I might have owned on a tour around the more erotic parts of my brain.

Parts which have been long, long defunct.

“I…yes…okay.” I garble out the words, knowing I’ve walked myself into this situation and Dalox is oh-so-gently helping me out of it.

Dalox drops below the surface, and I see the dark shape of him under the water.

My entire body is shaking, so rather than attempt to swim, I climb out of the pool and walk, wetly, my clothing sticking to me, back around to the entrance.

He is waiting for me, holding out a piece of cloth which I guess is used like a towel.

Once again, there’s no sign whatsoever of his cock. It’s as if I imagined it.

And it would appear my imagination is somewhat overactive.

“Come with me,” Dalox says, turning his back on me, and I can see the results of my handiwork, a glittering array of brand-new scales and the soft spines which are gradually changing to a darker color as they harden.

The cloth I have is doing a good job of absorbing most of the water, but I still leave a trail of soggy footprints behind meas Dalox takes me back into the area with the depression in the center, before he opens another door and gestures for me to go through into an almost identical room.

“This is yours,” he says. “I may have been rash in bringing you here from the planetoid, although you were not in any state to express your desires. But what you do here is entirely your own decision.”

“But your rut?”

“That is my affair.” Dalox raises his chin. “An honorable Sarkarnii allows his female time and space. I have no wish to be envenomated by pushing my affections on you. I consider myself lucky thus far you have not chosen that path.”

“You really think I’ll poison you?” I splutter. “Because I really won’t.”

Dalox’s eyes burn as he looks me up and down.

“I have never rutted for a female, even if I may have had them in my lair from time to time, which is something I must admit to the mate for whom I rut now,” he says. “My honor is everything and it belongs to you. Should I displease you, I would expect to be envenomated.”

He takes a step towards me and bares his neck.

“If you wish to bite, I will accept,” he growls.

“I don’t want to bite you, Dalox,” I respond.

“And I’m not saying I don’t want to…be with you.

But this is all new to me, all of it, including you and the Sarkarnii.

I’m very grateful you took me out of the pit and that you got me medical attention.

I’m grateful you haven’t eaten me or made me fight or done anything to me I don’t want.

” I take a breath. “But as for anything else…I need time.”

“We will have time,” Dalox rumbles. “Once I have the mapping system, we will have time as we journey to your planet. Perhaps then, you might consider being my mate.”

He gives me a low bow, similar to the ones I’ve seen the Sarkarnii do to each other, his eyes not leaving mine.

“I will arrange for food and clothing to be brought to you. Should you require anything, I will be next to you.” Dalox points at the doorway. “But it will be locked so only you can open it.”

With that, he turns, his tail swishing behind him, and exits the way we came in, the door closing in a swirl of metal and leaving me entirely alone, dripping onto the floor.

After everything which has happened to me today, new planet, aliens who turn into dragons, an entire colony of human women, and one massive alien who has decided I belong to him, I feel like I should be relieved to be alone, finally.

Only I’m not. Of all the things I’ve longed for since I found myself being taken away from Earth on an alien space ship, this sudden solitude is not it. For all my whirling emotions about Dalox, being apart from him like this is not going to help.

Not one bit.
