Chapter Twelve Trill

Every time I think about Savage being my brother, I be ready to murk some shit.

I wanted to say the shit didn’t make sense at all, but I guess in the end the proof was in the pudding.

Shit is just crazy. The only person that knew that shit right now was me and I had to find a way to break it down to my team.

I know it’s some shit that none of them are going to want to hear, but they need to know.

I don’t know what this changes, but I know that I can’t be beefing with him.

Neither can I continue to withhold this information

It was too risky. I can’t have them looking at me like I’m a fuckin snake in the grass. That was far from the case. All of this shit is something that neither of us could control or prevent.

But I’ll be lying if I said I didn’t despise this nigga.

I just knew there was no way that we will be able to run a business hating each other, but I wasn’t particularly ready to be this nigga brother.

Regardless of what the DNA had to say. Right now, I’m taking all of this shit with a grain of salt.

Grit has set something up for us to go shopping for clothing.

He wanted us to be able to represent the business in a manner that Giovanni would’ve liked.

I’m not opposed to that at all. Will it be an adjustment?

Most definitely. I’ve never in my life been a suit and tie type of nigga.

But seeing the way that Giovanni dressed, I know he did that because he had to look the part.

It was going to be a lot of motherfuckers with money in the mix, and we had to look like the business that we represent.

So again, I’m gonna do whatever it takes to get this money.

I still have goals outside of this shit dealing with the Laurent family business.

But this money is gonna create the same generational wealth that he left us.

I constantly thought about my guys and the way they’ll react to this news.

I know that shit is going to be rocky. Considering this beef has spanned over several years.

But I knew that if anybody would have an open mind about the whole thing it will be Mazi.

Knowing that Savage wasn’t gonna roll alone on no day and that likely Ro would be with him.

I decided to ask Mazi to roll with me today for this clothing fitting.

That will be my time to explain everything to him and let him know what’s been going on.

I’ve been keeping in touch with the crew, but I’ve been keeping my distance.

I’ve just been trying to find a way to cope with this shit.

Every day, I find myself still trying to wrap my mind around the thought of it all.

Life transpired, so fast for me. One day I’m beefing with this nigga.

The next I’m finding out that I have a wealthy ass nigga for a father and that my fucking enemy is my brother.

When I broke it down to my mom, she didn’t seem surprised at all.

She knew that Gio was the type of nigga that could have his way with any woman.

Me and this nigga is literally Irish twins.

Me being the oldest. They should stand for something because the little nigga needs to learn to respect his elders.

But I know from day one, this nigga has always thought that he was bigger than the program.

Cocky as fuck. One of the main reasons we bumped heads.

He may look older, but our birthdates determine who the fuck is the eldest son.

When I pulled into Mazi’s driveway, I honked the horn three times.

That was something we did to let one another know it was one of us.

It wasn’t long before I saw him coming out of the house.

A blunt dangled from his lips and a double cup was in the other hand.

I just watched the nigga until he made it to the passenger side of the car.

“Damn nigga, it’s that bad?”

“What?”, he answered in a muffled tone.

The blunt was still dangling from his lips, muffling his words.

“I’m talking bout, the damn blunt and the cup nigga. It’s two in the afternoon”

“Shit, you know I wake and bake. But hell, its five o clock somewhere. Just a little pregame. Where the hell we headed anyway? We got some business?”

I inhaled and exhaled deeply. I began to back out of the driveway while I pondered on how to answer his question. To him, it may have seemed like an easy one. For me, saying all of the shit out loud would bring everything back to surface. It would make reality really become the norm for me.

“We’re going to one of those high-end men’s fashion stores. I’m scheduled for a fitting.”

“A fitting?! Nigga, you’re about to get married or some shit I don’t know about?”

I just laughed to myself. All the while, Mazi was still staring my side profile down for a response. I glanced at him for a second, before focusing my attention back on the road.

“Or is your ass preparing to walk through the pearly gates or some shit? I need to know nigga. We don’t shop in no high-end stores. We get our shit from the hood!”

“What would you say if I said I have a business to run? I need some profession get up to do so. You know on some preppy shit but not necessarily nerdy”

“I know you have a business. You trying to switch up the dress code in the shop? That’s different as hell but I don’t know the shit may work”

“Real estate. Luxury apartments. Trucking business etc.”

By now he began to sit up in his seat and really focus on me. He studied my face for a long while. From my peripheral I saw him retrieve his lighter from his right pocket. He struck it and placed the flame to his blunt. He took a long pull from it before releasing the smoke into the atmosphere.

“You’re not bullshitting”, he said, in a matter-of-fact tone.

“Not in the slightest. My sperm donor left me all of that shit. Nigga was a multi-millionaire”

“You’re fucking lying nigga! I knew the nigga was getting money but shit! I didn’t expect that from the nigga at all. Nigga you are fuckin rich!!”

“I am. The shit is just a little complicated though”

“What the fuck is so complicated about a nigga leaving you, his wealth?! We’re some ghetto boys.

This street shit is all we have ever known.

Now it sounds like you have a legit way out of this life.

Some shit that has been the end game from the jump.

Before, you had to make enough to see your way out.

Nigga, the big man upstairs has granted you a first-class flight out of the ghetto.

Shit, any fuckin problems you may have, that money can solve. ”

“Shit sounds good and look good on paper. Only issue I have is, I can’t and won’t get shit unless I take it all alongside my brother.”

“Oh shit, nigga you have a brother too?! Well, looks like y’all niggas need to meet and greet and get this fuckin money..”

“Savage.”

“Hell yeah, y’all can be two savage ass boss niggas. Getting some real money. Some shit that’ll make a motherfucker hate for real”

“No. Savage is my brother.”

“Come again, say what?!?!”

I knew that shit would throw him for a loop. It did exactly that. That was my same impression when we saw the results from the DNA testing. I didn’t know how to take the shit at all. Truth of the matter is I still don’t know how. I’ve just been doing my best to get by.

Mazi kept taking long pulls from his blunt. It was funny as fuck to me being that I was sober. I found it comical on the inside. Though my outer appearance didn’t find a damn thing funny. This shit should’ve been a joke. Instead, it’s real life.

“Savage as in Khalil Knox? Your arch fuckin enemy?”

“Yeah. That nigga.”

He threw his hands up in defeat. He was in a state of disbelief. The shit was funny and sad at the same time.

“Niggaaaaa. I don’t know what the fuck to say. Small world. What a fuckin coincidence.”

“Man since finding out, my damn mind has been all over the place. It feels good getting the shit out to you. The only other time I felt okay about this shit was when I was talking to Purity”

“Your PO?”

“Yes man, she just has a way of listening that’ll make a nigga pour out his entire life story and not feel bad about anything. Shit feels like a shrink. I love and I hate that shit”

“I really can’t believe the shit man. The world is a crazy place. It’s going to be an even crazier place when the rest of SSC finds out, along with ACE. If niggas weren’t at one another neck before, they damn sure will be now”

“I can’t have that. Cause then motherfuckers will be fuckin with my money.

This isn’t some nickel and dime shit. I don’t fuck with that nigga either but I’m also not a fool.

I can’t let my pride, or anyone else’s make me go against this shit.

Like you said, this can be my freedom from this chokehold that the streets have on me.

Financial stability for me and my future family man. Some shit that makes sense in the end”

“I hear you man. You know I ain’t ever going against you for anybody.

The beef shit with ACE has been some fucked up shit along the years.

There was never a time though that if you would’ve told us to put the shit to bed, that I wouldn’t.

I always have your back, and I’ll always be by your side nigga.

whether the fuckin enemy is on the other side or not.

I ain’t ever letting you go to war on your own.

This shit deeper than SSC. You’re my fucking blood”

“Damn. You’re taking this shit better than me my nigga. Can’t worry about the shit you can’t undo.”

“I guess you’re right about that. How do you feel about being in the same room as that nigga?”

“Shit, I don’t feel no kind of way. If the nigga wants to get stupid, then I’m on that! Which I highly doubt, because he would be a dumb ass nigga to. Knowing that his wealth is on the line. Only a bird brain ass nigga would do that”
