Chapter 75

Why had he blurted that out? Rhys should have kept that thought buried deeply inside his own head. Just what he needed during sexy times, to have his lovers feeling sorry for him.

Way to show them how pathetic he was.

Neither of them turned away. Instead, Mel straddled his lap, much like they had the night before.

This time they cupped his face in both their hands so he couldn’t look away from them.

“Being in a relationship,” they said, “isn’t about what use you have to someone.

It’s about wanting to be together. What you all bring to the arrangement. Not just one person.”

“And if what I bring isn’t enough?”

“We’re the ones who get to make that determination. You don’t get to decide it for us.”

No one ever thought he was enough. Not his mother, not the social workers.

Certainly not any of his foster parents.

Not even Simon, since he’d never been willing to fully have Rhys in his life.

No one ever wanted him around for that long.

Especially once the shine wore off. He was sure Mel wouldn’t be any different.

If he voiced any of that, it would send both of them running far away. He forced an easy grin. “If it means having both your attention on me, I think I can live with that.”

He thought they would both laugh, but he seemed to be missing the mark with his jokes lately. Mel put one hand on his chest and gave him a light shove. He easily fell back on the bed. “Well, now, I definitely like this position.”

This time, Mel did laugh. Alfie leaned over him, kissing him, one hand sliding beneath his head, fingers tangling in the length of Rhys’s hair. He groaned into Alfie’s mouth as Mel pushed Rhys’s shirt up so they could trace their hands over his stomach.

They slid their hands down to the front of his shorts, pushing them down and moving off him long enough to take the shorts off. They crouched between his thighs, running their hands up and down them. Rhys barked out a laugh against Alfie’s lips. “What is with your obsession with my thighs?”

“Are you kidding me?” Mel said. “These could crush my skull. I can’t wait to find out.”

Rhys dropped his head back on the pillow with a laugh as Alfie trailed his lips down Rhys’s throat.

“Skull crushing isn’t usually seen as a positive.

” His breath came out choppy as Mel bent to nuzzle at the base of his cock.

He couldn’t see them around Alfie’s head and shoulders, but that didn’t keep him from feeling.

“It is when your head is between those thighs,” Alfie said.

“A fucking men,” Mel said then took Rhys’s cock into their mouth.

His hips bucked up, but Alfie was right there, peeling his shirt off over his head, then practically laying on top of him as he licked one nipple.

There were so many sensations, he could barely keep track of who was licking, who was caressing, but that was Mel’s hand cupped around his balls and Alfie’s thumb scraping over his nipple.

It was too much, and he felt like he was coming apart.

“Please,” he said, his voice barely more than a gasp, “I need…” He didn’t know what he needed. Less and also more and he didn’t want them to stop, but he might burst if either of them kept touching him.

He didn’t deserve to feel this good. He hadn’t done anything to earn this attention from the both of them.

Mel pulled off of him, sliding a hand up his stomach as they stretched out on one side of him. Alfie sandwiched him in on the other side, as if they planned this.

Or like they knew what he needed before he did. He didn’t know if he could handle having someone know him that well. They’d end up hating it and get as far away from him as possible. He didn’t know if he could handle losing either of them, let alone both.

“Does his mind always run so fast?” Mel looked across him at Alfie.

“Yes,” came Alfie’s husky reply. “And loud. There are only a few ways to shut it off.”

Rhys groaned as Alfie nudged him onto his side, and he heard the snick of a lube bottle. “Do you want this?” Alfie asked, even as his finger teased at Rhys’s hole.

In answer, Rhys rocked back, impaling himself on Alfie’s thick digit.

He let out a low groan, sparks rocketing through him.

“I think that’s a yes.” Mel unwrapped a condom and rolled it down him before they threw a leg over his hip.

They were enveloping him, and Alfie added a second finger.

Rhys was sure his eyes rolled up into the back of his head.

He could feel Alfie’s cock between his legs, his knuckles grazing the inside of his thigh, as he stroked himself as his fingers continued to work inside of Rhys.

Mel’s mouth was on his, swallowing his cry as he emptied into the condom. Alfie pressed a kiss to his shoulder then pulled away. He was back a moment later, a washcloth wiping away the lube and Alfie’s release from the inside of his thigh.

He didn’t think he could move, but they were both back, nestling in on either side of him. He didn’t really see a reason to.

Rhys woke with a thick arm thrown over his waist and a hard cock pressed into his back. “Mmmm.” He appreciated the feel of it, even though he was sure Alfie would be up and running at any moment.

He reached out in front of him, but the other side of the bed was empty. And cold. How long ago had Mel left? He didn’t want to open his eyes, didn’t want to rush toward the moment when Alfie would leave him again, and he would be all on his own. Because apparently Mel had already left.

“They had to go to work,” Alfie murmured in his ear, as if he could read Rhys’s mind. “They said they’d try to take a break if we come into the coffee shop this morning.”

“What time is it?”

“After 10. We have a little time before we have to be to the field.”

Not that much. “Not if you need to go home to shower and change. So no one will know you came from my place.”

Rhys found himself rolled onto his back with Alfie looming over him. “That has never,” he said roughly, “been my problem. I am not ashamed of loving you. I just did not want… I do not want it to hurt you.”

“You love me?” Why, why, why? The question was like a drumbeat in his head.

“Idiota.” Alfie leaned down and pressed his lips to Rhys’s.

Rhys opened up and let him in, their tongues tangling, before the kiss smoothed out. Rhys put his hands on Alfie’s waist and tugged him down closer until their cocks were rubbing against each other.

“I do not know if we have that much time,” Alfie said.

“I can be quick.”

“I do not want a quick time with you,” Alfie told him. “I want to show you in every way how I feel. Until you actually believe me.”

“Torture me, you mean.” Rhys decided to ignore that last part. He wasn’t going to tell Alfie he was wrong about what he felt. He just couldn’t believe it.

It would only make it hurt when Alfie realized the truth and walked away.

“I may wait for Mel to do that.” Alfie’s hand moved down between them, closing around Rhys’s cock.

Rhys arched up into his touch, panting slightly. Alfie slid down his body, taking Rhys into his mouth. He groaned and clutched at the sheets as Alfie, very quickly, took him apart. As soon as he’d regained his breath, he returned the favor.

His shower wasn’t large enough for them to shower at the same time — they'd tried that before — though he would love to have that option. They took turns, though his hot water heater wasn’t big enough for that either.

When Alfie came out, wearing the same shorts from the day before, water glistening on his chest, his hair slicked down, and not curling up yet, Rhys wanted to jump him.

“Stay.” Alfie pointed a finger at him.

“What? I am not a dog.”

Rhys’s lips tugged up but after a brief moment Alfie shook his head. “We do not have time. No matter what he said yesterday, Turner will not start either of us if we are late.”

That deflated Rhys. “He will not start me today, anyway. I’m still on the injured list.” His shoulder barely even twinged now, but he’d been put on the seven day injured list and couldn’t come off it before then. Anyway, they didn’t want to risk this happening again.

Alfie pressed a kiss to his shoulder. “We still need to get to practice.”

“Fine,” he muttered. “We’ll be responsible. Since you insist.”

Alfie smiled, and Rhys would swear his eyes were sparkling. “I promise to make it worth it later.”

He slipped his hand into Alfie’s as they headed out of the apartment. Miracle of miracles, Alfie did not pull away, not even when people turned to look at them. Rhys thought he saw… No that couldn’t be right. Why would Craig have come here?

The man turned away, and Rhys tried to calm his heart rate. It hadn’t been him. It was one thing to approach Rhys when he’d been in Ohio, so close to so much of his past. To come all the way here? No, Craig wouldn’t put out that much effort.

He wouldn’t ever have to see him again. It was time to focus on what mattered.

Baseball. And whatever he was lining up with Mel and Alfie. For however long that lasted.
