Chapter 3

“So, you actually knew your wife from a young age.”

I correct Agent Fox, “No.”

“What would you call it then?”

“I knew of her existence due to a mission brief.”

“Can you expand on that?”

I fling a filthy look in Fox’s direction because it’s not as if what we’re discussing wasn’t mentioned all over the news in interview after interview for years.

“When I was a SEAL commander, I was on the team that helped take out a group of terrorists on board the passenger cruise liner, the Sea Force.”

“Ah, yes. The Sea Force. Isn’t that why you resigned your commission?”

“Yes.”

“Why’s that?”

I think back to the woman I met on board the Sea Force and how her fears changed the course of my life. With a deep breath, I admit, “I met Libby Sullivan.”
