Epilogue Camden
SIX MONTHS LATER
It’s been six months, and I’ve been loving every moment that I’ve spent with Jessica. We have grown in all of the different areas of intimacy as we’ve worked through some of the obstacles we had. Today marks the day that we’re going to do a small vow renewal to help kick off our relationship again.
With the progress we’ve made so far, this is the perfect moment to be doing this. It’s still crazy that one wild trip to Ironcliff Falls Campground and Retreat got us to where we are today.
“Hey, beautiful,” I say, looking over Jess in her white dress.
She is absolutely stunning.
I’m so thankful that I can call her mine and go through life with her.
I can see her little baby bump showing from her dress.
I still can’t believe that three months ago we were told that we’re having a baby.
We’re both in utter disbelief that it happened so quickly, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You ready to go do this thing?” She asks.
“I’ll always be ready.” I kiss her on the forehead, then lead her out to the car.
We decided to pick the botanical gardens to renew our vows with the pastor who married us five years ago.
We thought it would be fitting to have him present and help us restore what we’ve been building upon all these years.
About ten minutes from our house, we arrive and see him waiting for us by the main entrance.
“We got this baby,” I say, opening her car door.
She nods her head in agreement, even though I can see the nerves written all across her face.
“Hey Pastor Austin, thank you for doing this today,” she says.
“Of course. I was happy to get your call to renew your vows. I love seeing couples go through this step again in their relationship. I have the perfect spot to do it, if you want to follow me,” he says.
We do just that and make our way to one of the arches located on the property. The flowers around us are absolutely beautiful, so I’m truly happy we’re surrounded by such a nice space to do this together. The pastor goes through the usual vows, and we repeat after him.
Before long, the ceremony is over, and we couldn’t be happier than we are at this moment. I know we’ve had a good life together, but I know it can be even better from this day forward. Our baby is going to be loved by both of us, and everything is going to work out the way we want it to.
