Chapter 23

twenty-three

JUDE

Her face is flushing like a schoolgirl as I show Greer into the single stall bathroom. After closing the door behind us, she announces, “I’d like some privacy, please.”

In an easy voice, I inform her, “Bad news. There’s no such thing as privacy between us.”

She scowls at me, then flounces over to the vanity where the tissue is placed. She turns away from me, but I pick her up and sit her on the vanity. “Nuh-uh. I wanna see.”

She shuts her legs, as if I’ve not finished between them.

I spread them with my palms and inspect the wetness between her thighs.

A groan escapes my lips, “My cum is dripping out of your pussy. Absolute perfection. Tonight before bed, I’m fucking you until you’re full of my cum and you are going to keep it inside of you like a good girl. ”

She slow blinks at me before asking a breezy, “Does that turn you on?”

“Fuck yes,” I say with great certainty.

“Well, you’re an easy man to satisfy in bed.”

“Woman, you could lie there and breathe, and it would be enough.” I pull a handful of tissues and run them between her folds. I toss them in the trash, already wishing I’d left her a mess.

With a huff, she closes her legs again and asks, “Happy now?”

I give her a quick peck, daring to challenge the annoyed expression on her face by saying, “Very.”

“Do you have my panties?” she asks.

“In my pocket, but I don’t think you want them back right now.”

After I help her down from the counter, she starts fidgeting, trying to set her appearance to rights.

My eyes catch the movement of her full breasts as she wiggles her calf length skirt back into place.

Call me a tit man, but my woman’s rack is fantastic.

I lean down and nuzzle in her cleavage with a deep, satisfied sigh, then place a sweet kiss on her swollen lips.

A taste of liquor reminds me that Greer and I need to talk.

We’re playing it fast and loose with contraception.

Unless she knows something I don’t, it’s best that Greer not drink for now.

I kiss her forehead and brush loose strands of straight ginger hair from her face. Despite her annoyance, she makes a little sigh deep in her throat and nuzzles into me.

Absolutely breathtaking.

This is everything I need in life… holding a satiated Greer.

We stay together like that for a long moment, Greer’s womanly softness pressed against me.

This woman is everything I want in life, and I didn’t even know it.

I kiss her eyebrow, her cheek, then she kisses my lips.

“We just had sex in a public place. I think I lose all sense and reason when you’re around,” she laughs.

“Believe me when I say we’re not the first couple to use that storage room.”

The repeated pinging of my phone drags me away. A group text chimes again and again. It can only be a fight. With a muttered curse, I reach into my cut for the constantly pulsing device.

Mudbug

Two men throwing punches by the betting window in the arena. No weapons

Flinch

Does anyone have eyes on Allie Guidry? Five foot four, blonde, in a walking boot. I can’t locate her.

Couyon

I’m at the compound but tracking her on the cameras. Give me a few.

Three-Peat

She was at the entrance to the arena a minute ago.

Flinch

Where’s Band-Aid’s old lady? Could they be together?

Jude

Negative. Greer’s with me, alone. If you find Allie, please bring her to the storage area near rear door three.

The betting window is only a few feet away from where Allie was last seen, which means she’s likely in the middle of it all. Fuck.

Greer and Allie never should have been allowed inside at all. In a tone that disguises my concern, I ask, “Has Allie messaged you?”

She pulls out her own phone and flips through without sending a response, “Nada. I’m going to go try to spot her. Knowing Allie, her phone is dead.”

“Someone will bring her to us. It’s not the safest place out there right now.”

She gives me a blank look and pronounces, “Allie’s been here before, and everything was fine. Besides, there’s a ton of security. I’ll be fine.”

My pulse accelerates as she turns to leave.

Nuh uh, no. P.J. might be okay with his woman being here, but I’m not.

What if she gets hurt? What if she’s already pregnant?

With cool movement, I loop my arm around her waist and drag her to face me again.

In a steady voice, I explain, “We’re having some issues with brawls outside the ring, and one just started.

We’ve doubled the staff to keep things under control, but we’re still outnumbered. ”

“It can’t be that bad,” she insists.

“I had to put forty stitches on someone the other night, that’s not the worst of it.”

Greer’s face turns from furrowed with concern to determination and worry.

She starts to pivot on her heels, so I cage her in against the wall.

As she struggles against me, I press her deeper into the sheetrock.

She pushes hard against my torso, but my body doesn’t budge.

“If it’s dangerous, I need to find Allie. ”

“We’re looking for her. In the meantime, you’re not going in the front of the building."

“Let me go! I’m not kidding.” She kicks and screams and tries clawing at my flesh. “If there’s a bad fight, people are going to need medical attention. Let me at least go somewhere I can help.”

I grab her arms and pin her up. Her chest makes angry pulls against mine as her eyes blaze.

“Whether you agree with it or not, you are still, by all rights, my old lady. That means you're under the club’s protection. If you go out there, some of the men are going to help cover you. That’s fewer people working crowd control and more injuries. ”

“If it’s that bad, why did they let me in the door?” she insists, as if calling my bullshit.

“Goldilocks and Archer have never seen you, and you didn’t give your name. Flinch recognized you, but only left to come and get me.”

“Then why did Allie and I get an escort to the bar and not Allie’s friend?”

“I’m not sure what that’s about, but it’s something to do with your cousin.”

“You weren’t so worried about safety when you dragged me to the back to fuck me,” she accuses.

“Trouble doesn’t normally start until much later. I thought we had time to get everyone out.” I release her hands, but use my arms to pin her in.

“Let me go,” she says slowly, emphasizing each word, eyes blaring into me. I’m not giving in. She’s going to head straight into the fight to try to help or find Allie despite my warnings.

“We’re waiting right here for your cousin to show up.”
