Epilogue
Kat exhaled in relief as she kicked off her stilettos, feeling the tension leave her body as she sat in the town car. West leaned in to kiss her shoulder.
“You can’t wait until we get home?”
She felt his familiar hands at her neck and his husky voice in her ear. “You know I can’t resist you.”
Even after a year of living together, he still made her feel like it was their first time. He planted featherlight kisses on the soft spot below her ear, sending shivers throughout her body as memories from when they had first been intimate on the island came flooding back. Her skin was still hypersensitive to his touch as his hand brushed across her side and he nipped and kissed down her arm.
“How was your first movie premiere?”
She had been nervous. As she had stepped onto the red carpet, her heart raced and her palms felt clammy. She’d glanced around nervously as flashes of light illuminated her sequined dress from all directions. Although she’d felt small standing next to West in his tuxedo, no one seemed to notice.
“Not so bad. I don’t think anyone even noticed me next to you.”
West tilted her back against the large leather upholstered seat and kissed her leg. She could feel his warm breath on her skin and every nerve in her body throbbed with desire. “That’s really a shame,” he murmured as he moved closer to her sex. “You produced the song; I was just your date.”
“I . . . guess . . . no one . . . cares . . . about . . . the soundtrack,” she said between kisses.
“That’s an absolute shame. This was your night. That was your song at the end of that movie.”
“It’s . . . fine . . .”
“No, it’s not, and I intend to make up for their lack of attention.” He pushed up her dress. “Why on earth are you wearing this? It makes it rather difficult to get to you.” He gestured to her Spanx.
“I had to look good for my first Hollywood premiere; they’d eat me alive if anything was out of place.”
“They are all idiots. Your body is perfection just the way it is.”
His hands found the top of the shapewear and pulled them down. If it had been anyone else, Kat would have been mortified, but with West she had no shame, no secrets. There was nothing between them. He knew everything about her, and she knew everything about him.
She had never felt so complete, so happy. It had been exhilarating to find out one of the five artists she was producing a record with had a song chosen for the main soundtrack in a movie. And then her happiness had turned to absolute terror when they told her she should join the artist at the premiere.
Kat had felt inferior standing next to the gorgeous Indian woman who sang like a rock goddess. The moment she had heard her demo, she knew that with a little polish and vision she would have a debut album for the ages. While she’d only had one song out for the movie, Kat couldn’t wait to release the album. She knew it would easily hit number one on the alternative charts.
West had promised to be there with her every step of the way for their first public outing. The press loved catching them out in public, and Kat was not looking forward to what social media had to say about her. But with West at her side, she realized none of it mattered because he loved her, and he always would, no matter what the rest of his world thought.
They pulled up to their house just as she felt all her undergarments fall from her body. West licked the seam of her core from the bottom to the top, sending shivers down her spine. She moaned in pleasure as his tongue traveled across her, making her body quiver with delight. He lifted his head, and she whimpered at the loss of him. “To be continued inside,” he said as he lowered her skirts.
Kat laughed and grabbed her shoes and undergarments as he helped her out of the car. They kissed each other hungrily along the walkway up to the front door. Her body was humming with pleasure, her heart brimming with joy—she would never get used to having someone who desired and loved her so deeply.
West pushed the door open with one hand and pulled her in with the other. He was halfway through pushing up her skirt when a voice broke the silence in the background. “Please stop before I have to gouge my eyes out.”
They both froze. Surprise overtook her emotions. There in her living room was her eldest brother, Caleb. Just lounging on her couch as if he owned the place. “Hey, sis. Mind if I crash here for a bit? I’ll explain later.”
Kat looked at West in question, but he didn’t seem to care one way or another about Caleb. West growled in her ear. “Ten minutes, then you better be upstairs or I’ll fuck you right here.”
Kat’s face heated up as the man she loved more than anything walked up the stairs.
Standing, her brother hugged her. He had been much nicer to her since her disappearance. “Love looks good on you.”
She smiled, “It does, doesn’t it?”
