Epilogue | Sienna
I use the chair's armrest for momentum to hoist myself up. But it’s no good. Being seven months pregnant is good for only one thing—balancing plates of food on your huge stomach when you’re too lazy to hold them yourself.
“Here.” Knox grabs both of my hands and lifts me onto my feet. I feel him staring at me, concern etched between his brows. “Are you okay, love?”
“Head rush.” My vision clears a beat later.
It’s a beautiful July evening. Birdsong fills the air and drifts in through the windows since we have them all open. There’s a nice cross breeze, which I’ve been enjoying. Nobody tells you how hot it gets up here in the mountains during summer.
“I’m gonna sit out on the porch for a bit. Watch the sunset.”
“Okay,” says Knox from the kitchen, turning over the venison that Eli is cooking for dinner. “We’ll be out there soon.”
I go from sitting in one chair to another. My energy has been fluctuating like crazy. One second, I’m running through the long grass with Henry playing tag. The next, I’m trapped in a chair, unable to get myself up.
I started sewing not long after I moved up here. I started picking up a needle and thread every time I got the urge to go on my phone. And now I have three whole outfits made for my little one when she arrives in the fall.
Two months ago, when I last checked social media, people were doing full literary analyses of that last speech I made in LA. The one where I blasted Holden.
Speaking of that leech, the attention didn’t last long for him. He still drops my name whenever he can, trying to use it to stay relevant. But he’s clutching at straws now, because I’m becoming less relevant as the days go on. And that’s exactly how I want it to be.
He’ll need to find another host to latch onto, or he’ll be washed out completely.
According to Jules, whom I saw two days ago, he’s single.
Valentina dumped his ass that same day I exposed him for who he is.
Her modeling career has gotten even bigger since then.
And apparently, before modeling, she worked as a midwife for a year, so she’s coming up here to help deliver my little girl.
“I don’t think you realize how much of an inspiration you are,” said Jules yesterday before she left. “Things these days seem… more relaxed back there. And you definitely put the paparazzi in their place. They’re nowhere near as invasive.”
When Jules isn’t kicking ass—now running her own talent agency, she’s in the mountains hiking with all of us. She loves Henry just as much as I do.
I rest my hand on my belly bump, feeling the summer sun on my skin.
Apparently I got pregnant the night I returned from the city seven months ago.
Realistically, it was only going to be a matter of time.
When you’re fucking like rabbits several times a day without protection, you expect to see two positive lines on a pregnancy test pretty quickly.
I don’t know whose sperm got to my egg first, but we all decided that it doesn’t matter. They’re all daddies in my eyes. All very capable and protective.
Sensing someone behind me, I turn to look over my shoulder to see all three of them watching me. I swear they get more handsome by the day. Being pregnant doesn’t fucking help. I’m battling with crazy hormones, wanting to jump them twice as much as before.
All they have to do is be near me, and I want to get naked.
“I know that look.” A laugh rises low in Cash’s throat. “Where do you want us, sweetheart? Right here on the porch? I know that’s one of your favorite spots.”
“No.” I stand up from the chair with no problem this time.
Desire is already flooding south, my clit swollen with need.
Their hands are already over me, peeling back layers of clothing. Two fingers pinch my nipples, causing me to squirm. Thank god Henry’s down for his afternoon nap. I’m already past the point of return. Especially when a hand moves down to exactly where I want it.
“Holy shit.”
“Tell us what you want, princess.”
“Not here,” I murmur, rubbing myself against the finger that’s playing with my clit. “Shove me up against a tree and take me there.”
That’ll be the pregnancy hormones talking. But I welcome them. It makes the sex even more earth-shattering.
Knox picks me up like I still weigh nothing.
And then all four of us are heading into the forest to have some fun.
Because that’s all I do now. I have fun, get laid, play with Henry and most importantly, go to sleep at night in my mens’ arms, remembering that young girl dancing in that tiny kitchen who finally made something of herself.
And life is even better than she ever could have imagined.
