Chapter 9
Nine
Oliver
Iris’s face is unreadable as I drive my hips up, fitting into her.
“Oh! It’s…so big!” Iris gasps.
“Did I hurt you?”
“No, no. It’s just been a while…”
A slow smile pulls at her lips as I sink in deeper.
The deep ache I’ve felt since the moment I first saw her this morning at breakfast has compounded by a thousand. As her tight walls surround me, I can hardly keep it together.
I’ve got her flat on her back, on top of her work table, one arm propping me up.
The other, I hook under her leg to change the angle a bit, letting me hit deeper.
“Oh god! Yes!” Her eyes close, and she reaches for me.
“So good…so fucking perfect…so tight I’m worried I might hurt you, I’m serious.”
“Don’t you dare pull that big dick out, goddamn it…”
“I’m not going to pull out, but I’m damn sure going to slow down before I come too soon.”
“Shit…oh my god, man…”
I ease up a little and just stare down at her, this beauty I never expected, and etch her memory into my mind.
She matches my slow rhythm, in and out, and we lock eyes.
“It’s over for me, Iris. You are fucking destroying me.”
Those tight little muscles strangle my cock with every slow thrust.
“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”
I push back in and come to a complete stop, taking a moment to suck her bottom lip. I can’t get enough.
She needs to come again. And I don’t want to get there without her.
I reach between our bodies and punctuate every deep, slow thrust with a caress to her clit.
“You really have to ask?”
“Oliver…”
“That’s a really…”
“Oh…”
“Really…”
“Oliver!”
“Good…question.”
“Oh. My. God!”
“And I think you know the fucking answer.”
A keening cry rips from her throat as she lets go.
I love how noisy Iris is. The way she claws at me. Writhes under me.
“That’s it, baby. Oh shit, I’m coming.”
My release barrels through me, and I have to plant both forearms on the table, around Iris’s shoulders to keep me from collapsing on top of her.
For a second, everything goes fuzzy. All the pain and frustration and ache pour out of me, replaced by pure bliss. A pure, unbreakable connection between Iris and me.
And then, peace.
So much peace and a sense of intense well-being like I’ve never felt before.
“Oliver?” Iris’s delicate fingers stroke through the short hair on the back of my neck. Comforting. Sweet.
“I’m still here…kind of,” I say with a laugh.
The fuzziness dissipates, and I can now see straight, but the feeling of happiness still pulses through every cell in my body.
Iris has been flat on her back long enough. Carefully, I take her hand and help her to stand. She leans against me with a laugh.
“I’m a little wobbly, I think.”
“Take a breath,” I say gently, smoothing her hair down.
She sighs. “I must look like a wreck.”
“Nothing could be further from the truth.”
I tip her chin up and kiss her mouth one more time. “You’re beautiful.”
She blinks up at me. “We’re naked, Oliver.”
“That tends to happen.”
We laugh as I clumsily put my jeans back on. I don’t bother with the shirt, slinging it over my arm.
Iris throws her shirt on, which is an oversized one reaching mid-thigh.
“I’d better go shower and have a bite to eat, then get some sleep. Big day tomorrow,” she says. That shy awkwardness has returned.
“A dress fitting?”
She shakes her head. “No, I’m helping my friend Skylar with her booth tomorrow. She’s trying to open a bookstore, so she’s doing a pop-up thing at the festival to spread the word.”
“That’s really nice of you. Is there anything I can help with?”
She pats me on the chest and then smiles at me. “Enjoy yourself. Enjoy the town. And take some of this food with you. That’s all you need to do.”
I can’t help but notice something strangely dismissive in her tone. She’s not unkind, but it sort of sounds like Iris is trying to give me an out. Like she thinks I’m just being nice and offering her help because we just had sex, and I’m being polite.
Iris has a lot to learn about me.
But I don’t want to overwhelm her.
“Nah. I’m saving up my appetite for breakfast. Good night, Biscuit,” I say, pressing my lips to her forehead.
She laughs. “Good night, Ridiculous. I’ll see you in the morning.”
