Francis’ Letter to Cordelia
Francis’ letter to Cordelia.
Iwish to beg for your permission
To grant me an eternity with you.
As though it is my lifelong mission,
I’m desperate, for my soul is due.
And when my being drowns in beauty
Of your forbidden, longing soul,
It shall become my utter duty
To beg for mercy, for I’m a fool.
For I’m a fool without your presence,
For I’m a fool without your heart.
Your mere glance—is my essence,
Your mere glance—an arrow’s shot.
And for the rest of my poor being,
When I am left with no more pain...
I’ll beg the Moon when my end is nearing
To let my last word be your name.
The End.
