14. Sam

Sam

Shadow laid next to me and stroked my hair until I fell asleep after he watched me bathe. I teased him, wanting to see if I could get him to strip off his clothes and join me, but he never budged.

“Aren’t you hot under all those clothes and masks?”

“I’ve dealt with worse. This time it’s worth it because I get you,” he replied, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around my body when I stepped out.

I can’t even get his real voice. It’s like I’m fucking a figment of my imagination.

The spot next to me is empty when I wake up. I groan in disappointment and grab the piece of paper lying in his place.

Got called into work. Be a good girl and stay put. I’ll be back when I can.

I crumble it into a ball and toss it on the floor.

If he thinks I’ll wait around on him, he doesn’t know me very well.

I wait for no man. Also, I have to go to the studio this evening.

I have classes starting at five. There’s no need to look for the time.

My internal alarm clock always wakes me before sunrise.

The aroma of coffee brewing fills my nose, and I sit up, causing the pale yellow sheet to puddle in my lap.

Is he back already? “Shadow?” I yell, but I’m met with silence.

Something is wrapped around my neck. I try to tug it off, but there’s no clasp or buckle, just smooth metal. What the hell?

I fling my legs over the side of the bed, and my feet land on something soft.

Slippers. Big, fluffy lilac slippers. A matching robe lies at the foot of the bed.

Hmm. Well, this is an unfamiliar experience.

I slip my feet into the slippers and fasten the soft robe around my naked body and use my nose to lead me to the next gift.

The stream of coffee is still spewing from the coffeemaker.

He set a timer to make it go off when I woke up.

Wait. How did he know when to set it for?

I look around for cameras as I try to shove my fingers between the thing on my neck to dig at an itch and go in search of a mirror.

The smile I was wearing fades when I discover that it’s a metal collar wrapped around my throat.

Would I enjoy this if I were being fucked?

Probably. But not for no good reason. I tug and tug, but it won’t budge.

How am I going to explain this to everyone at the studio?

He did this so that I wouldn’t leave. So I would wait for him to return.

What an ass. I go back to the kitchen to grab the cup of coffee, and next to the coffeemaker is another note.

Watch the sunrise from the rocking chair facing the window. DON’T go outside.

My mouth hangs open while I read it again.

Well, Shadow. You aren’t here to stop me.

I’ll go outside if I damn well please. I crumble the note and toss it in the trash, snatching up my coffee and walking towards the door.

Don’t go outside. I mock him in my head.

I fling open the door and inhale. It smells even better out here.

I don’t make it outside. My foot doesn’t even touch the porch.

Electricity surges through me from the device on my neck.

The coffee cup slips from my hands, shattering when it hits the floor.

I grip the collar and fall to my knees, collapsing onto my back in the spilled hot coffee.

The pain halts, and I can finally suck in a breath.

Tears trickle from the corners of my eyes, and my arms tremble under my weight as I push myself up.

The open door taunting me as I make it back to my feet and slam it shut.

I don’t like this anymore. I don’t like this one bit.

Panic and anger surge through me as quickly as the electricity that just wrecked my body.

I leave the mess on the floor and go to the window where I was supposed to be watching the sunrise, open it, and take out the screen.

Here goes noth—ing. I hit the floor like a sack of potatoes.

“Ooouuccchhh” I yell, frustration and pain weakening my voice.

If this isn’t the biggest red flag I have ever ignored.

“I hate you,” I tell my pussy demon. “Why do you have to like masked strangers who trap you in their cabin?” I scream, tugging on the shock collar, knowing it won’t come off because there is no release. Only he will be able to open it.

I rummage around the kitchen for towels and a broom to clean up the spilled coffee and broken cup.

Not sure what I’m going to do with a knife, but I lay it out regardless.

Maybe I’ll stab him with it when he returns.

After I toss the broken ceramic into the trash and wipe up the coffee mess, I go to the bathroom.

I know I shouldn’t, but I also can’t help it.

The window in the bathroom faces a different direction than the front door.

I wobble back and forth, gaining courage, my head getting closer each time.

I’m scared. No wonder livestock stays far away from the fences surrounding them.

This shit hurts. My foot slips and I fall into the wall and open window, my body seizing before I crumble, my hand going into the toilet.

“Ew, ew, ew,” I whine rushing to the sink to wash my hands.

I crane my neck, trying to see if I’ve melted my skin in the mirror, but I can’t move the collar enough to tell.

Last night I craved to be his good girl.

Now I want to stab him. Good dick be damned.

* * *

I jump up when I hear gravel crunching beneath tires and snatch the small vase off the stand, throwing it at his head when he opens the door.

All day I’ve been stuck in here stewing in my anger and panic.

He turns at the last second, and the vase smashes against the door, breaking into several pieces.

“Little—”

“Don’t you little me, asshole,” I snap, throwing the book I was reading, and he ducks.

“You’re mad,” he states.

“Oh, wow, you’re not completely stupid. You could have fooled me.”

“Sam,” he growls, and it goes straight to my core.

Down demon. He caged us. We’re pissed at him, remember?

He catches the glass I fling at his face before it hits him, the rest of the water splashing over his chest and neck. “Stop throwing stuff at me.”

“Take this collar off me and let me go home,” I yell yanking on the torture device around my neck for emphasis.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” he threatens when I pull my arm back, ready to launch the kitchen knife, which he would just dodge like everything else, but it would make me feel better.

He stalks towards me, unbothered by the weapon in my hands.

I hold it out in front of me, pointing the tip at his chest.

“You made me miss work. I didn’t even have a phone to let them know I wasn’t able to make it.”

He keeps walking until the tip of the blade is poking his chest.

“I already told them you weren’t coming in. Days ago, actually. I made Jade promise not to say anything to you by telling her it was a surprise.”

My body relaxes as the anxiety of not showing up fades. He easily pries the knife from my hands and trails the dull side down my cheek, sending a shiver over my body.

“You aren’t going home yet, pup. We still have training to do.”

“Just so we are clear, locking me in a cage is red. This—” I grab onto the collar and clench my jaw. “is really, really fucking red.”

“Noted,” he replies. “But in my defense, I left a note not to go outside.”

He chuckles when I narrow my eyes at him.

“I’m sorry. I really didn’t think I would be gone that long. It won’t happen again.”

“Fine, just take it off.”

“Hmm. Not yet. I want to fuck you from behind while you stare out the front door and try your hardest not to get too close to the opening. I wonder if I’ll be able to feel the shock through your wet and needy cunt when you slip from the force of my thrusts.”

The thought of being shocked again has me bolting around him, but his arm darts out to wrap around my waist and I’m thrown to the floor.

I put my hands out in front of me, avoiding the broken pottery.

Leather-covered fingers thread through my hair, pushing me forward.

I fight him. Adrenaline, fear, and panic has my mind forgetting about how pissed I was at him.

His cock slides into me with no effort. I’m always wet when he’s near me.

He pulls out to the tip and slams into me again, shoving my body forward.

I cry out, desperate not to let myself past the boundary.

Why didn’t I get dressed? I made this too easy for him.

Why is he still dressed? He never pulls his pants down.

Only his zipper. So many questions and so many sensations flood my senses.

The sound of a vibrator reaches my ears before it touches my clit.

I jerk at the sensation, my neck going through the threshold, and then I’m collapsing onto the ground in a fit of shocks and pleasure.

Shadow pulls me back up by my hair, stopping one lightning storm, only for another one to continue happening between my legs.

Holy mother of gods.

I need therapy.
