CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
Bryce
Jesus Christ. The first night between us was earth-shattering, but this is different.
I revel in how she opens for my kiss, tasting herself, and moaning like she loves it. It stirs my blood and has me hardening where I press between her legs. I want to bury myself inside her, but I need to make sure this is what she wants.
I know what I want—her, like this, every goddamn night. But I am fully, achingly aware she might not want this to lead there.
Leanne whimpers when I pull back from the kiss.
“What do you need now?” I ask, trailing kisses down her neck until I reach her breasts that are still covered by her beautiful and maddening lacy bra. I want it gone. I want nothing between us.
I slip my fingers beneath one strap and she arcs into my touch. “You, I need you. Bryce, please.”
“You have me,” I say, dipping my head and using my teeth to coax the cup of her bra down so I can trail my tongue over her nipple. She jolts and gasps at the contact. “Sensitive?” I ask, blowing a cool breath over the wet flesh.
“Ahh, yes. Very,” she breathes.
“In a good way?” I ask, moving my hand to her back. She arches, and I pop the closure on the bra with one swift movement, making quick work of removing it entirely. Her breasts are fuller than I remember and my palms itch to feel their weight.
“Yes, yes, so good. Do it again.”
“This?” I say, and lean over the other nipple, giving it the same treatment with my tongue before lightly blowing on it until it puckers.
“Yes. More, please. Bryce, I…” She attempts to push her thighs together, but it only leads to her clamping around my hips like a vise.
“You want me here, blondie?” I ask, slipping one hand down her body to find the wet heat between her thighs.
Her eyes fly open and they burn with desire, but she narrows them into a glare all the same. “Don’t tease me.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” I say in mock offense. Then I slip two fingers inside, stretching her entrance. “Just making sure you’re good and ready for me.”
“You know I am,” she huffs, her walls squeezing against my fingers.
“That I do.” I chuckle, nuzzling against her breast again while I move my fingers in and out.
“To be very clear. I haven’t been with anyone since we…
Since we were together. I haven’t thought of anyone but you since then either.
It’s always this sweet, tight pussy I imagine when I wrap my hand around my cock and find release. ”
She whimpers and the heat between her legs only intensifies. She likes when I talk to her like this. She liked it our first night too, when I told her to touch herself. We might have to do that again. “I haven’t… It’s only been you too.”
A rumbling growl works its way out of my chest and up my throat, a possessiveness taking hold of everything I am and tying me to this woman. It’s visceral, the way I react to her.
With her words, I notch myself at her entrance, slipping my fingers free as I thrust forward.
It’s only an inch, but I see stars. “Oh fuck, you feel… so good.” Pressing in one more inch, I lift my fingers to my mouth and suck the taste of her off them.
And that’s when I lose my grip on control and drive forward all the way to the hilt so our hips align, pressed together.
She cries out and I still, watching her face for signs of distress. “You okay?” I husk through clenched teeth.
She nods, lifting her hips up to meet mine. “Move, please.”
So, I do. The first few thrusts are slow and measured, giving her body time to adjust, taking time to watch her unravel under me. She’s thrumming with energy like an exposed wire, and I’m dangerously close to combusting.
I’m hyperaware of her. The way she breathes.
The way a blush creeps across her skin. The way her head tilts back and she bites her lip.
All telltale signs I remember from that night together of her being close.
But tonight she’s not touching herself to get there.
It’s just me and her finding a rhythm all our own while her fingers dig into my biceps.
I don’t want to keep her on edge though, and I’m already so damn close. I shift my weight to one hand, ready to use the other to get her there, but she pulls it to her mouth for a kiss and places it back on the bed.
“I’m almost there, don’t stop. Please.” Her gaze is earnest. She wants me to get her there this way if I can, and I am nothing if not happy to please.
I nod and continue in the same rhythm, holding the pace that’s clearly working for her. She cants her hips so my pelvic bone rubs against her clit, and she detonates.
“Fuck. Bryce.” She grips me tighter as her walls contract and shiver with her release. Her hold on my arms tightens with a bite of pain, her nails nearly piercing my skin, and the sensation sends me over the edge. My vision blackens as I come with a shout, spilling into her.
I rest my head against her chest, my breathing erratic as the aftershocks of my orgasm twitch through me, and with each small movement, I feel it trigger those same twitches in her body. It’s like a loop of cat and mouse, and it’s absolute heaven.
I ease out, wanting to prolong the moment, and fall to the side. Resting my head on one hand, I draw lazy circles over her exposed skin with the other. When I reach her stomach, and the growing bump there, I flatten my palm over the spot. My large hand nearly reaches across her entire abdomen.
I watch her and she watches my hand.
She slowly places hers atop mine in a gentle caress.
“Can I… Can I kiss you here?” I ask tentatively. I may have had my head between her thighs fifteen minutes ago, but somehow kissing her baby bump is more intimate.
She nods, offering a reassuring smile, her eyes bright with something I can’t read.
I lean into my elbow and bring my lips right below her navel. The skin is smooth and soft, like the rest of her, but there’s a firmness underneath.
“God, you’re beautiful,” I say, pressing another tender kiss to her stomach. I fight the temptation to lay my head there and never move. Instead, I bring myself half over her so I can kiss her again, our hands moving back to the place on her stomach where our baby is.
Our baby girl.
It’s still so surreal. Leanne is here, in my arms, and we’re having a baby. I can’t imagine anything that could make this moment any better.
And that’s when I feel it.
The tiniest bump against my hand. I jerk upright and Leanne follows, propping up on her elbow, staring at where our hands rest.
“Was that—?” she asks, curious excitement breaking out across her face.
I stare at her and then look back to our hands. “I think it—” I break off at another ripple beneath her skin. “Ho-ly shit. Have you felt this before?” I ask, my own smile spreading across my face as I look at her.
“No. Nothing like this. I had some butterfly flutters at dinner, but I wasn’t sure… It’s never been like this.”
Another nudge beneath my hand has me scrambling to kiss her as a laugh bubbles up. I can feel our baby girl. She’s moving and this is more than butterfly flutters, this is everything.
This is real.
This is us, our little family.
Ours.
Emotions rise up inside me, and I have to hide my face before Leanne can see it all written there.
The grief and loss welling up but being instantly overcome and washed over with fresh joy and excitement.
I press my face to her hand and kiss it over where our baby girl is moving, closing my eyes tight until I can regain my composure.
Her free hand comes to my hair, smoothing it away from my face, and when I look at her, there’s tears in her eyes and she’s sporting the widest smile. “I never thought… I never thought I’d get to experience this. I—It’s magical.”
“It is,” I say, and then I kiss her again. We get lost in this moment, our hands still firmly over the place where this piece of us ties us together, moving against our combined hands, until we both fall asleep.
