CHAPTER 4 JARED #4

But no. Clenching my jaw, I keep moving. I have to be close now, maybe fifty yards from the center, though it's almost impossible to judge distance in terrain like this. The ground rises and falls in ridges and hollows, making it hard to get my bearings.

Eventually I reach the edge of a steep slope leading down into thick brush. Hmm. Climbing down will take time, and with the incline this sharp, one bad step could send me sliding.

As I stand there, I hear branches snapping behind me, growing louder. Then I'm absolutely certain I hear something that sounds like careful footsteps on the forest floor. I can't take it anymore. Gripping the gun, I spin around.

What stands behind me is beyond anything I've ever seen.

It isn't human.

It's, umm… green.

Incredibly… forest-like. Its light green skin is laced with delicate golden-russet veins.

The entire figure is surrounded by what looks like countless tiny flecks of glitter drifting through the air, a truly magical glow.

From within a face wreathed in a golden mist, radiant, blazing eyes lock onto mine.

I take all of that in within the span of a heartbeat.

Fear shoots straight through me, and the next second my foot slips back an inch too far.

Then I'm falling down the slope.

The world spins!

Panic knocks the breath out of my lungs.

The hillside isn't insanely steep, but once you pick up speed, you just keep going, swallowed by a thick cloud of dead leaves.

And down I tumble…

Thankfully, there aren't any tree trunks in my path for me to smash into. It's mostly low, soft brush, and my body plows through it like a wrecking ball.

I keep falling.

Rolling and rolling, damn it, for at least sixty yards.

I finally crash at the bottom into another pile of leaves, so aside from a few scrapes across the backs of my hands, I'm surprisingly intact.

But I immediately realize my biggest problem.

The gun I'd been holding…

It's gone.

Gone.

It must've flown out of my hand during the fall.

Panicking, I search frantically, but the layer of leaves here is incredibly thick, churned up even more by my tumble.

I nervously start climbing back up the slope, digging through the leaves as I search, but then it hits me that the higher I climb, the closer I'll get to that creature.

That's a terrible idea.

How should I even call it? A forest spirit? A forest demon? Fae? Some other… forest entity?

One thing is for sure, I need to get the hell out of here as fast as possible. This is just crazy, crazy!

The only problem is where should I run? The green… umm thing had been standing in the direction I'd come from, effectively cutting off my way back.

Whatever that forest entity's intentions are, I have no desire to find out.

Shaking like a leaf, I start moving along the base of the slope, angling farther south, hoping I can make a wide enough detour around the place where I saw him and somehow find my way back. I've always had a pretty good sense of direction, but with my nerves this shot, I'm sure that'll fail me too.

The worst part is that my problem with the green being is far from over.

Fuck. I didn't leave him behind.

I start hearing those same sounds again.

That rustling.

Closing in.

Circling me.

Now that I'm forcing my way through the brush, I don't even bother trying to hide my movements anymore or keep quiet, but even through the noise I'm making, those other sounds break through, reminding me that the green entity is still close.

I start panting, desperate breaths tearing out of my lungs, and I’m even letting out a series of frantic whimpers in AO sound language, signaling that I’m an omega in distress.

Finally, I can't take it anymore. The tension that has been building inside me finally bursts out.

"Leave me alone!"

I stumble, nearly lose my footing, and my voice shifts into a plea.

"Please, just leave me alone! Leave me alone! Let me live! I'm leaving your territory, I swear! I'm sorry I trespassed!"

Yes, I'm actually yelling it, shouting into the forest around me, hoping I can somehow beg the green entity for mercy. Because I'm strangely convinced that's exactly what happened. I trespassed into his territory, and now he wants to kill me. Punish me.

And I'm almost certain he could.

From that split-second glimpse of him, I'd only managed to notice one thing.

He was taller than me, broader. Powerful muscles, a massive chest, abs carved across his stomach.

He was a seriously muscular beast. On top of that, he's obviously something supernatural, and anyone who's ever watched fantasy movies knows creatures like that are always stronger than humans.

Thankfully, I don't remember what was below his waist. I was too terrified to look, and besides, there wasn't time. Though whatever's down there, I seriously doubt some bizarre forest monster wants to use it on me. He's probably planning to rip me apart with his claws and eat me, right?

Or I don't know. Do some other weird fairy-tale magic people always end up suffering through in those dark old stories.

The rustling around me grows louder. I know he's close now, maybe fifty feet away.

I doubt I've made it more than a hundred and fifty yards from the bottom of that slope in my wobbly attempt at running. My legs feel like jelly. Eventually my nerves give out completely, and I collapse in a small clearing onto a thick bed of moss and grass.

I lie there for a while, numb.

Well…

I'm not getting away anyway. Who am I kidding?

My heart is still pounding, but my body has started developing ideas of its own about what's happening to me. I'd once heard that stress could suppress a heat, but apparently that doesn't work on me. At least not right away.

Instead, a strange, stubborn need starts rising inside me.

Something almost absurd.

I lie on my stomach, panting as I stare into the faint green haze hovering above the forest grass in front of me.

Can you run from a creature of the forest?

Let's be honest. How are you supposed to throw off something that's so perfectly in tune with the woods, something that actually lives here? There's no chance.

The only thing I can even try is negotiating with it.

But can you negotiate with nature?

Can you negotiate with a tree?

With flowers? With stones?

I press my cheek against the moss.

Silence settles over the forest.

I stay where I am, letting my breathing finally slow.

Even if he's standing right behind me now, there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not going to kill some forest entity. Sure, I'm a tall omega, and I'm in excellent shape, but I don't stand a chance against him.

As I lie there, an odd calm slowly washes over me.

Almost acceptance. I listen to my own body, and it seems completely indifferent to everything happening around me, slipping deeper into its own pulse, focused entirely on its own needs, until a sudden, powerful wave of contractions tears through my passage, making me groan.

I almost want to laugh.

It's actually kind of funny.

I might be about to die…

…and all I can think about is getting fucked.

What the hell?

My cock is hard, and that bizarre need keeps building throughout my entire body, a desperate urge to have just one more orgasm before I die.

Dear Fate. This is turning into a damn black comedy.

I realize what's happening, too. The force of that contraction is a little too intense for preheat.

So, is this it? The first wave of my heat is about to hit?

No… please!

I lie there while silence hovers over the forest. I don't hear those sounds anymore. They've stopped completely. Did he give up? Maybe he lost my trail. After all, I'm lying flat on the ground. He probably expected me to keep running. If I'm lucky, he has moved on…

There’s yet another possibility.

Maybe the entity actually listened to my pleas, perhaps it even heard my AO distress whimpers and decided to mercifully let me go. Could it be benevolent, and when I declared that I was leaving the forest, it gave me a chance to escape?

And yet here I am still trespassing and don't want to get up.

I just lie there, with the grass and moss soft beneath me. It hasn't rained in days, so the earth is fairly dry. Sunlight filters through the trees, warming me just a little. For December, the temperature is quite bearable, a bit over sixty °F.

I keep resting there, and my disobedient body starts making itself known again. The rising need to fuck. Every time I suppress it, every time I shove it back into the depths of my mind, it stubbornly comes right back.

Maybe it's the racing heartbeat, the blood pumping faster after my run, but the contractions keep building inside me. My entrance throbs. I slip a hand beneath my stomach, feeling my dick pulse in sync with my hole.

My first two heats weren't all that bad. They were actually pretty manageable. During both of them, Mark had important meetings and business trips, so I ended up spending half my heat alone with my dildos anyway.

Now, that strange feeling keeps building inside me. Unbearable, almost incapacitating. Eventually, an empty, almost hysterical laugh tears out of me because this is honestly ridiculous. I just saw some bizarre entity in the forest, and all I can think about is getting railed.

The problem is that beings like this are often part of my sexual fantasies: male versions of forest dryads, mermen, dark fae, satyrs, drow and other supernatural beings. My bizarre imagination is dragging this whole situation into my heat-fueled desires.

I squeeze my thighs together, feeling that ring of muscles pulse, slowly but strongly, hotly.

Could this be some kind of defense mechanism too? Fear of dying, trying to bury the terror beneath something that'll make me forget for a little while, something that'll push that dread away…

I clamp my thighs together harder. The pulsing comes back even stronger, more insistent, quite hard to ignore. I catch myself thinking about only one thing: finding a quick release for this need; putting something inside my hole.
